Clients - "Go to Xero" to open in another tab
On the client screen when you click on "Go to Xero" it should open in another tab not the not redirect the current browser page to Xero.
58 votesHi team, this change has now been released. You'll find when you click the 'Go to Xero' option from the Client list or within an individual client this will open the organisation in a separate browser tab. 😊

Practice tools | Clients - Return to group view when navigating back from a client
Since the recent update in November/December 2025, when navigating back using the back arrow from a specific client, the system returns to the full client list rather than the client’s group.
It would be more helpful if the back arrow returned users to the relevant group view instead of the full client list.

XPM - Show full client notes by default
Since the recent update in Nov/Dec 2025, client notes are collapsed when they exceed a few lines, which makes it too easy to miss important information. All the notes we add in XPM are all relevant, we don't want any to be hidden.
Previously, notes were fully visible by default. Restoring this behaviour would make critical information easier to see at a glance.
If notes must remain collapsible, an option to show the full note by default would be preferred. Alternatively, the “show more” prompt should be much more visually prominent so it is not overlooked.

You'll find this now shows full notes by default and it also has an improved layout, and allows you to add HTML links. 😁

Clients - Search using TFN or ABN
We are not able to search for clients (whilst in the Clients tab) using TFN or ABN.
We are also not able to search using client's TFN or ABN when using Global Search.
TFN and ABN are unique search identifiers and will return the correct client every time.

Just to note around the ABN search - this is driven from the ABN in your clients org. So, if your clients organisation has an ABN this client will show in the results when searching the ABN number from the client list. Thanks again for your feedback and support in this idea here.

XPH - Update the salutation from the additional contacts
In the old xero version, you could click on the contact and edit the salutation.
This option is no longer available.
The only way to update is to exit client, go back to clients, select contacts, search contact then edit details.

New contact being added at client level should be able to add Addressee and Salutation as this is needed for all correspondence sent from XPM
19 votesHi everyone, thanks again for your engagement on the addressee and salutation fields here. It's been super valuable to our team as they keep making improvements in the roll out of Xero partner Hub and the unified client experience.
I'm happy to share they've made some recent updates to Contacts and added an option to add Salutation and addressee details when adding a new contact to a client. 😊
To edit these fields of an existing contact click on their name within the Client this'll direct you to the Contact where you can Edit.

Practice tools - Floating navigation and headers
I note that when I am in the "Clients" and other tabs the top two toolbars (green and white) disappear when scrolling. It is very annoying that you can't see the client's name and other tabs at a glance. Is it possible that these two toolbars can remain static?
Thank you.11 votesHi team, I'd like to share that this idea got picked up, and we've recently released a change within Clients so now you'll find the Client tab headers within the Client page are fixed and constantly visible as you scroll down the page through the Client details, helping you to easily jump from one tab to the next.
While this change doesn't span across all areas of Xero Partner Hub if there are particular pages you'd find this most useful please do start an idea for these and we can continue to consider this as we keep developing practice tools. Thanks for your feedback.

Clients - Keep all data entry on one page
With the beta, when entering client information, you need to click between different groupings, such as client, tax, business, etc. You also need to save between clicking on different pages - I am unable to get a full picture of the information I have entered in one shot and there is friction added to the data entry experience.
Current xero has these tabs, BUT they remain open when you click the next. Often, I am piecing together information as I go and jumping from top to bottom, or needing to make quick adjustments. This makes more sense and is more…
12 votesHi everyone, sorry we haven't rounded back on this one a little sooner. We have released an improved layout of the Client edit screen. So now you have the option to either scroll the page to the section you want, or can click to navigate to the section from the left side menu 😁

Clients - Enter dates with keyboard
Ability to enter dates via keyboard entry. Used to be able to enter 5, and it would be the fifth of the current month, current year. Even just the ability to enter the full date would be more productive than having to click through to the day, then month, then year.

Taking all feedback on board our team have been concentrating on making improvements and keyboard shortcuts are now available for all date fields, so you don't have to use the date picker. 😊

Clients - Ability to add Middle Name when setting up a new client
New XPM Beta - I can see the First Name and Last Name Field when setting up a new individual client, but there is no Middle Name Field?

Clients - Reduce whitespace to view more details
Too much white space and gaps on the client page means more scrolling to see the info needed. Reduce to normal paragraph gap

Practice tools | Clients - Show number of notes from client view
From the initial client view, there should be a number next to the Notes section, to show that there are notes to look at (as there are for invoices, jobs etc)

How do you add or edit client codes in Beta? Client codes show in the header but we can't see where they can be added or edited.

Date entered for Directorship, say 15th of August 2025 - changes to 14th of August 2025.

Practice beta | Client - Ability to differentiate Client and Contact when adding contacts on the client Record
When adding a new contact to a client using client record, you're unable to tell whether you're selecting a client as a contact, or a contact record. Being able to identify this would help with third party app integrations like FYI due to different information being added to a contact vs client record

Relationships - beneficiary relationships between trusts and companies or SMSFs are showing an error message "relationship type may be invalid". These are most certainly valid beneficiaries of a trust.

Clients – SuiteFiles Integration Update
Previously, when setting up a new client in XPM, the SuiteFiles add-on would automatically create the default folder structure for that client within SuiteFiles. This functionality appears to have been removed, and the folder structure must now be manually created in SuiteFiles prior to establishing the connection with XPM.
We would like to request the reinstatement of this feature to streamline the client onboarding process and maintain integration efficiency between XPM and SuiteFiles.
5 votesHi team, I'm please to share that there is now a new version of the SuiteFiles chrome extension which resolves the issues practices in the Xero Partner Hub beta were facing with the new Clients experience.
You may just need to update Chrome to ensure you're on the latest version 😊

Client - Link to Additional Contacts information
Ability to click on the "Additional contacts" name on the client file to go to that contacts information

Primary Contact should appear above other contacts
The Primary Contact in the 'Additional Contacts' section should appear above any other contacts. I believe this used to be the case before the recent update. It was much clearer and made much more sense to see who the first point of contact is when contacting clients.

Client Billing Relationships
Client Billing relationships has stopped working/saving. This is urgent.
The following error is being received:-
A system error occurred and we failed to save the changes
Also, what staff permissions needs to be changed to allow staff to save these relationships?
