  1. New contact being added at client level should be able to add Addressee and Salutation as this is needed for all correspondence sent from XPM

    Hi everyone, thanks again for your engagement on the addressee and salutation fields here. It's been super valuable to our team as they keep making improvements in the roll out of Xero partner Hub and the unified client experience.

    I'm happy to share they've made some recent updates to Contacts and added an option to add Salutation and addressee details when adding a new contact to a client. 😊

    To edit these fields of an existing contact click on their name within the Client this'll direct you to the Contact where you can Edit.

  2. With the beta, when entering client information, you need to click between different groupings, such as client, tax, business, etc. You also need to save between clicking on different pages - I am unable to get a full picture of the information I have entered in one shot and there is friction added to the data entry experience.

    Current xero has these tabs, BUT they remain open when you click the next. Often, I am piecing together information as I go and jumping from top to bottom, or needing to make quick adjustments. This makes more sense and is more…

    Hi everyone, sorry we haven't rounded back on this one a little sooner. We have released an improved layout of the Client edit screen. So now you have the option to either scroll the page to the section you want, or can click to navigate to the section from the left side menu 😁

  3. Ability to enter dates via keyboard entry. Used to be able to enter 5, and it would be the fifth of the current month, current year. Even just the ability to enter the full date would be more productive than having to click through to the day, then month, then year.

    Thank you for your engagement with this idea for entering dates via a keyboard in the new practice experiences beta. Taking all feedback on board our team have been concentrating on making improvements and keyboard shortcuts are now available for all date fields, so you don't have to use the date picker. 😊

  4. New XPM Beta - I can see the First Name and Last Name Field when setting up a new individual client, but there is no Middle Name Field?

    Hi team, we'd like to share that 'Other' name field has now been added back to Clients in the practice experiences beta, where you'll be able to add the Middle name. Thank you for sharing on this with us, here.

  5. Too much white space and gaps on the client page means more scrolling to see the info needed. Reduce to normal paragraph gap

    Hi everyone, today we released a change to the Client screen where we've optimised the screen to reduce white space so you can see more details at once. We also added alternate row highlighting to improve ease of referencing details.

  6. How do you add or edit client codes in Beta? Client codes show in the header but we can't see where they can be added or edited.

  8. When adding a new contact to a client using client record, you're unable to tell whether you're selecting a client as a contact, or a contact record. Being able to identify this would help with third party app integrations like FYI due to different information being added to a contact vs client record

    Great to get the validation in this idea from the community here. Thanks for sharing your support. I'm pleased to share that we have made an improvement so you'll now see small 'Client' label next to a Contact that's a client. 😊

  9. Relationships - beneficiary relationships between trusts and companies or SMSFs are showing an error message "relationship type may be invalid". These are most certainly valid beneficiaries of a trust.

    We have made a change to the message that appears so you are no longer blocked from being able to save client relationships. Thank you for engaging with us about this here.

  10. Previously, when setting up a new client in XPM, the SuiteFiles add-on would automatically create the default folder structure for that client within SuiteFiles. This functionality appears to have been removed, and the folder structure must now be manually created in SuiteFiles prior to establishing the connection with XPM.

    We would like to request the reinstatement of this feature to streamline the client onboarding process and maintain integration efficiency between XPM and SuiteFiles.

    Hi team, I'm please to share that there is now a new version of the SuiteFiles chrome extension which resolves the issues practices in the Xero Partner Hub beta were facing with the new Clients experience.

    You may just need to update Chrome to ensure you're on the latest version 😊

  12. Client Billing relationships has stopped working/saving. This is urgent.

    The following error is being received:-

    A system error occurred and we failed to save the changes

    Also, what staff permissions needs to be changed to allow staff to save these relationships?

    Hi team, I just wanted to round back here to confirm as you may have also heard through our Xero Support team the issue that was preventing you from being able to save client relationships has been resolved and you should find you are no longer receiving an error. Thanks

  13. Dates are changing to 1 Jan 1970 - I'm not sure if it's overridden other data or note, but it won't update.

    Hiya Glennis, happy to share that our product team jumped on this and have just released a fix. 😊

    Blank date fields on a Client record will now remain blank, and those that were previously defaulting to '1 July 1970' will be reverted and show as blank too. Thank you for sharing with us about this. 🙏

  14. Client Codes - Beware

    We are finding client codes are disappearing on clients when updating a piece of information and saving. This is a big problem.

    Hi team, I wanted to return to confirm that we have released a fix for the issue that was causing client codes to not appear when adding or editing these in the client record. This field has been renamed 'Client reference code' and any changes that you make to this field will be reflected properly. Thanks

  15. Balance date used to not be mandatory. I usually left it blank.

    Now, when I create a client.. Xero automatically puts 31 January in the Balance date field and I can't remove it.

    Hey Sam, thanks to our valued users (such as yourself) bringing this to our attention so swiftly, we are happy to say that the Balance date now be blank by default. We appreciate the time taken to bring these Ideas to us and we are only able to make these changes because of our customers input.

  16. We are unable to edit and save any details in the clients' Tax Tab in new beta XPM. We need to be able to do this ASAP.

    Hi Katie, thanks for raising this with us in the practice experience beta forum. Our team have been working quickly to resolve issue and I'm pleased to share that this should be fixed so you can now edit and save details in the clients Tax tab. 🙂

  17. Need to be able to edit client bank account details. Receiveing an error when editing or trying to remove them from the client record is prone to causing mistakes in returns.

I want to confirm that our product team have now made a change to resolve the issue with errors practice experience beta users were receiving when trying to edit client bank account details. You should find these working for you properly now. 🙂

  18. Previously when you looked at a client Group you could see all the associated tax returns with the whole group.
    This is useful for review and billing, and understanding the status of the group.

  19. We need the ability to add multiple email addresses for a client. Not extra Contacts, but the main email address for a client. Currently you can only enter one email address, this is the address that tax payment letters (for example) are automatically sent to. However, some clients want these to go to more than one address. We have to keep a separate spread sheet and our Tax administrator needs to manually send tax payment letters to those clients.

    Hi team, we thoroughly appreciate the support received in community on this idea overtime.

    I am pleased to share that the new unified client experience has been released to all practices, that includes the ability to add multiple addresses for a client.

    Xero Partner Hub is with a limited group of users atm, and will be rolling out to everyone in 2026.

    As mentioned in my last update - knowing that there is also a great interest in being able to set a purpose for each email added we have created a new idea to continue to explore as we keep developing the experience. We will be sure to update you of any progress around this there.
