  1. On the client screen when you click on "Go to Xero" it should open in another tab not the not redirect the current browser page to Xero.

    Hi team, this change has now been released. You'll find when you click the 'Go to Xero' option from the Client list or within an individual client this will open the organisation in a separate browser tab. 😊

  2. Since the recent update in November/December 2025, when navigating back using the back arrow from a specific client, the system returns to the full client list rather than the client’s group.

    It would be more helpful if the back arrow returned users to the relevant group view instead of the full client list.

We'd like to update as we have released this change, so now when you click the back arrow on your browser or from the icon next to your client name you'll be returned to the Client group you were just in. We appreciate hearing how this change would have impact for you, here. 🙏🏻

  3. Since the recent update in Nov/Dec 2025, client notes are collapsed when they exceed a few lines, which makes it too easy to miss important information. All the notes we add in XPM are all relevant, we don't want any to be hidden.

    Previously, notes were fully visible by default. Restoring this behaviour would make critical information easier to see at a glance.

    If notes must remain collapsible, an option to show the full note by default would be preferred. Alternatively, the “show more” prompt should be much more visually prominent so it is not overlooked.

    Thanks for your feedback here, everyone. We're pleased to share that we've given Client notes a bit of a revamp.

    You'll find this now shows full notes by default and it also has an improved layout, and allows you to add HTML links. 😁

  4. We are not able to search for clients (whilst in the Clients tab) using TFN or ABN.

    We are also not able to search using client's TFN or ABN when using Global Search.

    TFN and ABN are unique search identifiers and will return the correct client every time.

    Hi team! Pleased to share that search via TFN and ABN are now both possible from the Client list 😁

    Just to note around the ABN search - this is driven from the ABN in your clients org. So, if your clients organisation has an ABN this client will show in the results when searching the ABN number from the client list. Thanks again for your feedback and support in this idea here.

  5. Problem: Standard users can only archive clients from "All Clients" and "Groups", but can no longer archive from the actual Client record, even though Admin users can.

    Impact: This is inconsistent and adds extra steps. Standard users need to leave the client, go back to a list or group, then archive. This wastes time and the feature already exists for Admins and used to exist prior to all these changes recently implemented.

    Request: Add "Archive" back to the 3-dot menu on the Client record for Standard users, so archiving is available wherever client actions are shown.

    Hi team, pleased to share that this functionality has been reinstated and practice staff with Standard permission will now be able to archive a Client from the 3 dot menu in the top right of a Client record.🙂

  6. In the old xero version, you could click on the contact and edit the salutation.

    This option is no longer available.
    The only way to update is to exit client, go back to clients, select contacts, search contact then edit details.
    A lot of extra steps just to add or update a salutation after a contact has been created

    Hi team, we've been listening closely to feedback on the updates to Clients, and I'm pleased to share you can now edit the addressee and salutation either by editing the contact on the client view, or from the client detail page.

  7. New contact being added at client level should be able to add Addressee and Salutation as this is needed for all correspondence sent from XPM

    Hi everyone, thanks again for your engagement on the addressee and salutation fields here. It's been super valuable to our team as they keep making improvements in the roll out of Xero partner Hub and the unified client experience.

    I'm happy to share they've made some recent updates to Contacts and added an option to add Salutation and addressee details when adding a new contact to a client. 😊

    To edit these fields of an existing contact click on their name within the Client this'll direct you to the Contact where you can Edit.

  8. I note that when I am in the "Clients" and other tabs the top two toolbars (green and white) disappear when scrolling. It is very annoying that you can't see the client's name and other tabs at a glance. Is it possible that these two toolbars can remain static?

    Hi team, I'd like to share that this idea got picked up, and we've recently released a change within Clients so now you'll find the Client tab headers within the Client page are fixed and constantly visible as you scroll down the page through the Client details, helping you to easily jump from one tab to the next.

    While this change doesn't span across all areas of Xero Partner Hub if there are particular pages you'd find this most useful please do start an idea for these and we can continue to consider this as we keep developing practice tools. Thanks for your feedback.

    Hi team, with a recent update our team have implemented you can now search a Client from the list by their IRD number if saved on their Client record.

    We appreciate hearing the use of this search option to you.

  10. In the old Xero HQ staff page, you could click on the staff member, add clients, then select any number of clients from the entire client list.

    With the new staff page layout, you can only select clients on the current page. If you move to the next page, the selection clears.

    Hi team, pleased to provide an update here before year end. This functionality is now available within the new unified staff experience.

    Within a Staff you will find from the Clients tab you can now select clients from multiple pages to Edit permissions. the total number of clients selected will show at the top of the list and selections from previous pages are held. Thanks for your feedback and helping us improve this experience for you all.


  11. Losses carried forward have to be manually entered each year. It would be great if the information flowed through automatically from the prior year tax return. This will help to reduce risks that someone may accidently omit or incorrectly enter losses.

    Heya team! With updates we've just released for Xero Tax in Australia, we've also provided the capability being asked here for Company Tax Returns(CTR) - If a CTR is in a tax loss position in 2024, we'll roll over the loss into a losses worksheet in 2025.

    We appreciate there may be other return types our customers want losses carried forward for. To get better insight of interest around these we recommend raising new ideas for the specific type of return you'd like to see this feature with.

  12. On the old Xero HQ staff page, you could click on the staff member, add clients, and then filter to client groups.

    With the new Xero HQ Staff page layout, this ability has been lost and it's vital for adding clients in bulk to particular office groups, particularly for our new starters.

    Hi team, thanks for the feedback on this one. It's good to understand the different ways our practices assign Staff permissions to clients.

    You'll find that within a Staff record, from the Clients tab there is a Groups option where you can filter all clients by Group to then assign access to those clients as needed. 😊

With the beta, when entering client information, you need to click between different groupings, such as client, tax, business, etc. You also need to save between clicking on different pages - I am unable to get a full picture of the information I have entered in one shot and there is friction added to the data entry experience.

    Current xero has these tabs, BUT they remain open when you click the next. Often, I am piecing together information as I go and jumping from top to bottom, or needing to make quick adjustments. This makes more sense and is more…

    Hi everyone, sorry we haven't rounded back on this one a little sooner. We have released an improved layout of the Client edit screen. So now you have the option to either scroll the page to the section you want, or can click to navigate to the section from the left side menu 😁

  14. Ability to enter dates via keyboard entry. Used to be able to enter 5, and it would be the fifth of the current month, current year. Even just the ability to enter the full date would be more productive than having to click through to the day, then month, then year.

    Thank you for your engagement with this idea for entering dates via a keyboard in the new practice experiences beta. Taking all feedback on board our team have been concentrating on making improvements and keyboard shortcuts are now available for all date fields, so you don't have to use the date picker. 😊

    Hi team, we'd like to share that 'Other' name field has now been added back to Clients in the practice experiences beta, where you'll be able to add the Middle name. Thank you for sharing on this with us, here.

  16. The option to remove permissions from a client has gone with the new Staff experience.

    When removing access permissions for staff, you can now only edit their permissions and when you select the "No Access" Option under organisation access and the Payroll option disappears. Applying this does not remove payroll admin permissions, so when you want to remove a team members access to a client you have to action the permission update twice.

    The new experience was supposed to simplify the staff management, not add more steps!

    Thanks for sharing about staff permissions with us here. Our product team have recently released changes for the Payroll admin role for Staff within Practice tools.

    Assigning Payroll admin - As before a practice user will need Manage users and Payroll admin access to assign Payroll Admin access to another staff.

    Removing Payroll admin(UPDATE) - A practice user will only need the Manage users permission in order to remove another staff's Payroll, admin access. This can be implemented from the Staff tab or within an individual Client.

    Hi everyone, today we released a change to the Client screen where we've optimised the screen to reduce white space so you can see more details at once. We also added alternate row highlighting to improve ease of referencing details.

  18. From the initial client view, there should be a number next to the Notes section, to show that there are notes to look at (as there are for invoices, jobs etc)
