Removing staff access permissions - Double handling
The option to remove permissions from a client has gone with the new Staff experience.
When removing access permissions for staff, you can now only edit their permissions and when you select the "No Access" Option under organisation access and the Payroll option disappears. Applying this does not remove payroll admin permissions, so when you want to remove a team members access to a client you have to action the permission update twice.
The new experience was supposed to simplify the staff management, not add more steps!
4 votesThanks for sharing about staff permissions with us here. Our product team have recently released changes for the Payroll admin role for Staff within Practice tools.
Assigning Payroll admin - As before a practice user will need Manage users and Payroll admin access to assign Payroll Admin access to another staff.
Removing Payroll admin(UPDATE) - A practice user will only need the Manage users permission in order to remove another staff's Payroll, admin access. This can be implemented from the Staff tab or within an individual Client.
Thanks again for your feedback here.

XPM - Restore “Archive” inside Client record for Standard users
Problem: Standard users can only archive clients from "All Clients" and "Groups", but can no longer archive from the actual Client record, even though Admin users can.
Impact: This is inconsistent and adds extra steps. Standard users need to leave the client, go back to a list or group, then archive. This wastes time and the feature already exists for Admins and used to exist prior to all these changes recently implemented.
Request: Add "Archive" back to the 3-dot menu on the Client record for Standard users, so archiving is available wherever client actions are shown.
25 votesHi team, pleased to share that this functionality has been reinstated and practice staff with Standard permission will now be able to archive a Client from the 3 dot menu in the top right of a Client record.🙂
Thank you for sharing on your needs and engaging with us here.

Practice tools | Client lists - Hold saved filter even after switching tabs
In XPM have on the Clients tab the ability to save a filter and it does not reset when switching tabs. E.g. Client list using a filter that equals a "Partner", so the relevant Partner can see only their clients in the list. If this is difficult because of the multiple filters that may have been setup, then make it so the last filter used applies until you change the filter. It works on the Jobs tab where you can select a Partner filter which appears to be setup a different way. If you can get it to do the…
2 votesHi community, thanks for feeding back on this with is here. We appreciate how holding client list filters as you navigate and work in your practice is useful and have released an update so now saved filters persist across navigation and logins.
If you apply a saved filter, move away, and come back - it’ll still be there.😊

Client - Make Balance date optional
Balance date used to not be mandatory. I usually left it blank.
Now, when I create a client.. Xero automatically puts 31 January in the Balance date field and I can't remove it.
Dumb as.
1 voteHey Sam, thanks to our valued users (such as yourself) bringing this to our attention so swiftly, we are happy to say that the Balance date now be blank by default. We appreciate the time taken to bring these Ideas to us and we are only able to make these changes because of our customers input.

Partner Hub - Ability to "group by" and "filter by" headers in Jobs widget
XPM shows your currently assigned jobs on the left, separated and grouped into the status of the job. This functionality is currently lost in the Partner Hub beta. It would be great to be able to "group by" status, in the jobs widget so provide some separation between different status jobs.
Would also be ideal to be able to "filter by" in a similar fashion, only showing jobs with a certain status for example.
Even better would be the ability to have multiple Jobs widgets - for example I would want a widget where that only shows jobs where I'm…
2 votesHi everyone, we'd like to provide an update as we've recently released the ability to filter by state in the jobs widget on the XPH Homepage. 🙂
We don't have directly plans for grouping within the widget however our product teams are exploring the ability to add multiple of the same widget to the Xero partner Hub homepage.
For now, you'll be able to Filter for a State, or Reorder the column header of the widget by State. Thanks!

Client - Dates changing
Dates are changing to 1 Jan 1970 - I'm not sure if it's overridden other data or note, but it won't update.
1 voteHiya Glennis, happy to share that our product team jumped on this and have just released a fix. 😊
Blank date fields on a Client record will now remain blank, and those that were previously defaulting to '1 July 1970' will be reverted and show as blank too. Thank you for sharing with us about this. 🙏

Clients - See tax returns by group
Previously when you looked at a client Group you could see all the associated tax returns with the whole group.
This is useful for review and billing, and understanding the status of the group.

Clients - Search using TFN or ABN
We are not able to search for clients (whilst in the Clients tab) using TFN or ABN.
We are also not able to search using client's TFN or ABN when using Global Search.
TFN and ABN are unique search identifiers and will return the correct client every time.
48 votesHi team! Pleased to share that search via TFN and ABN are now both possible from the Client list 😁
Just to note around the ABN search - this is driven from the ABN in your clients org. So, if your clients organisation has an ABN this client will show in the results when searching the ABN number from the client list. Thanks again for your feedback and support in this idea here.

This field has been renamed 'Client reference code' and any changes that you make to this field will be reflected properly. Thanks

Relationships - beneficiary relationships between trusts and companies or SMSFs are showing an error message
Relationships - beneficiary relationships between trusts and companies or SMSFs are showing an error message "relationship type may be invalid". These are most certainly valid beneficiaries of a trust.
5 votesHi team, we appreciate your feedback on practice experiences beta. Our team have been paid close attention to the feedback we have been receiving on this to make improvements.
We have made a change to the message that appears so you are no longer blocked from being able to save client relationships. Thank you for engaging with us about this here.

Clients – SuiteFiles Integration Update
Previously, when setting up a new client in XPM, the SuiteFiles add-on would automatically create the default folder structure for that client within SuiteFiles. This functionality appears to have been removed, and the folder structure must now be manually created in SuiteFiles prior to establishing the connection with XPM.
We would like to request the reinstatement of this feature to streamline the client onboarding process and maintain integration efficiency between XPM and SuiteFiles.
5 votesHi team, I'm please to share that there is now a new version of the SuiteFiles chrome extension which resolves the issues practices in the Xero Partner Hub beta were facing with the new Clients experience.
You may just need to update Chrome to ensure you're on the latest version 😊
Thanks again for your feedback and engaging on this here.
