AU Tax - Company business structure will pull the Physical address to the Dividends and interests schedule.
Company business structure tax returns should pull the physical address to the Dividends and Interests schedule, instead of the Postal address. It is not correct to put a PO Box or postal address in the schedule and you are not able to update the address field.
Currently only Partnership tax returns will pull the physical address to the Dividends and Interests schedule.
2 votesHi Julie, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand that having company details flow through to tax schedules automatically would help reduce repeated data entry when completing returns.
We hear the request for the company physical address to pre-fill into the Dividends and Interest schedule, so you don’t need to manually enter the information.
We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand the value of improving data flow between company details and tax schedules.

Personal Tax (UK) | BADR £1m lifetime allowance automatic cap
Automatic BADR lifetime allowance £1m application.
At present for a gain of over £1m you need to enter two transactions, one with a £1m gain to apply BADR, and the remainder to be charged at 20% (24/25).
It would be much better if the system knew the lifetime allowance and applied it only up to the limit.
At present if you put the whole transaction to BADR it will apply 10% to more than £1m which is incorrect.

AU Tax - Add a direct hyperlink to the client profile from the Tax Manager view
I love the new Tax Manager screen in XPM - with Ready to Start. It would be handy if we could click on the Client name to go to their record.
1 voteHi Mary, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand that having quick access to client details while working in Tax Manager would help make workflows smoother.
For now, opening the practice client list in a separate tab can help with switching between views. We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand the value of improving navigation between these areas.

Xero Tax (UK) | CT600 - Land remediation tax credit
Make it possible to claim Land Remediation relief against profits. Should be a simple box addition to the existing form layout. Similar to how R&D currently is where you can claim against profits but not claim the credit when in a loss position.
Top marks for if you can set-up both1 voteThis idea has now moved into gaining support 📌. At the moment, the current method is still to handle this manually while direct support is being worked on.
Thank you for raising this idea with us. We really appreciate the input, as it helps us better understand where changes may be needed and where future improvements could have the most impact. Feedback like this is valuable in helping inform meaningful product changes over time.

AU Tax - Add automated assessment tracking and status flags for Trust returns
I have a number of Trust clients where we expect an assessment. The ATO takes a LONG time to issue these, so I think it would be good to have a similar Notice of Assessment flag like we do for individuals, so we can see which are still outstanding.
Not all trusts have assessments but we should be able to trigger this by the question on the front page of the return about whether the trustee has tax payable.1 voteHi Vicki, we understand how having assessment tracking for Trust returns, similar to NOA tracking for Individual returns, could help monitor outstanding assessments.
We appreciate the suggestion to use existing return indicators, like trustee tax payable, to help surface tracking statuses automatically.
We’ll continue to track the interest and feedback shared here.

AU Tax - Single Login for Consolidated Client Signing History
Add functionality to merge client accounts used to access previously signed returns (via portal.xero.com). This would ensure that when a client updates their email address, their full record of signed tax returns remains intact and accessible through a single login with the new email. This eliminates the need to log in with multiple accounts to view the complete history of signed returns.
3 votesHi everyone, thanks for supporting this idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We can see why a consolidated history on signing would be useful.

AU Tax - Track time spent on a return
Can you automatically keep the start and end times when working on a tax return per user.
3 votesAppreciate you raising this idea about tracking time on returns within Xero Tax, Neil. It’s something that can make a difference for teams trying to manage capacity or reflect on the actual effort behind each return.
This idea is now sitting in the gaining support stage, which means it’s open for others in the community to engage with. As more votes and comments come through, it helps the product team see where this functionality might be most impactful and what specific outcomes users are looking for.
If there’s a particular reporting format, integration, or manual workaround you’re currently using to track this, sharing that in the comments could be really helpful. It adds valuable context and helps show how this could tie into existing practice workflows.

UK Tax | Company - Allow change of CT600 date
Xero Tax pulls in the dates for the accounts from Companies House and assumes that the dates for the tax return will be the same. This might not always be the case - my example is due to the leap year causing problems
I filed returns to Companies House and HMRC to include 29 Feb as the guidance suggested using my previous software. This was all accepted fine but now I am unable to file a CT600 using Xero tax because Companies House have the year starting on 29 Feb but HMRC have it on 1 Mar.
There is no…

Business Activity Statement - Improve process of recording 100% GST on Imports
AU 100% GST on Imports - this function needs to be improved. It's 2025 and we are still required to do manual adjustments for GST on imports to get the correct result. It shouldn't be this difficult!
2 votesHi Ryu, thanks for sharing this idea here. Appreciate that you're wanting to see improvements in the way 100% GST on import is recorded in Xero. UK Tax - Automate Company Number, UTR number and Companies House authorisation code
We enter company number, company UTR number, director name when setting up client but why does this not get processed when preparing the company accounts and tax. We need to enter the company number, Company UTR number, Companies House authorisation code and director signing the return every time we want to use XERO tax. Surely there must be a way to simplify this so entering this information every time is a thing of the past.

UK Tax - Create accounts without using Xero's Fixed Assets Module
We would like to be able to generate partnership and sole trader accounts in Xero without having to use Xero's fixed asset module. The fixed asset note generated in the accounts not is currently not fit for use without uploading all assets into the fixed asset module.
1 voteHi Victoria, thank you for sharing this idea with is. We understand that while the Fixed Assets module is a core part of Xero, many practices use specialized external software or custom spreadsheets to manage their asset registers. Currently, the UK Tax and Accounts Production workflow is designed to pull directly from the Xero Fixed Asset module to ensure data integrity, but we recognize that being "forced" into this workflow can create extra manual work for those using external tools.

NZ Tax - Collect tax directly for IRD
Have Xero collect and pay the tax directly to the IRD on clients behalf. A little bit like Hnry, but do it better. Would be great for small business/contractors etc. IRD have really struggled to collect tax/gst in specific industries like construction and hospo
1 voteThanks for sharing this idea. We appreciate you explaining how direct tax collection and payment could support small businesses and contractors, especially in industries where tax compliance can be challenging.

NZ Tax - Include Rental schedule when filing return with IRD
IRD are asking us for details of our rental expenses - I would like the Residential and Commercial Rental schedules to accompany the tax return when filing with IRD - I can not imagine anyone wanting to do this manually.

AU Tax - Title in uppercase
Currently the Client Title on a printed or downloaded tax return shows in all uppercase even though the fields in XPM & Tax are proper case. Would like this to be an option to choose so that the text is consistent eg either all uppercase or proper case.

Xero tax(AU) - Separate 'Client To Sign' & 'Tax Agent to Sign' lists
The current 'To Sign' list is a combination of tax returns that might be out for signature with the client, or ready for the tax agent to sign. At the moment there is no way for our tax agents to tell which tax returns are ready for them to sign.
104 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback and support on this idea.

NZ tax- Student Loan overseas borrower repayments
Overseas Borrower Student Loan repayments have different payment dates (30 September and 31 March), there is currently no functionality within Xero Tax (NZ) to manage these payments. I understand it is not possible for the system to calculate the repayment amounts as these are determined based on the loan balance, but if there could be an override amount like for Provisional Tax that would be useful, instead of having to track these borrowers manually.

NZ Tax - Edit payment schedule on tax return
Xero tax software needs to be amended so that a provisional tax payment requested based on the previous year plus 10% shows up as the first installment of provisional tax due in the xero tax return even though the client hasn't made the payment but is required to have paid by the 1st provisional tax date. At present shows as 0.00 which is incorrect based on the inland revenue rules. So at present have to copy the tax return to a pdf export to word and then manually amended the tax return to show the correct tax payment that was…
41 votesHi everyone, sorry we've not engaged here sooner. We want to share an update to provide some detail here.
Currently, if no payment is made on the first provisional date, then the amount owing moves to the second provisional date. The payment schedule is optimised to show payments in the future and will not reflect missed payments - There are no plans to make a change to how the payment schedule works.
On this basis, if you feel the schedule is incorrect we highly encourage you connect with our Xero Support team via Xero Central so we can take a closer look to investigate based on your specific case. Thanks
