Contact - Bank account verified
Can we please have a feature to confirm when a contact's bank account details were last verified? We are increasingly asking for confirmation of bank account details with no easy way other than the notes field to check the account status.

Hi team, we appreciate wanting a direct feature within Contacts in Xero that helps verify a contact's bank account details when entered.
Being open this isn't something we have plans for at this time, however I'd like to highlight existing features that may meet some of the needs here.
You can use the Assurance Dashboard to check contact details that have been edited that can help with identifying errors or potential fraudulent activity.
For those using online bill payments there are also some verifications as part of this process;
- Australia with AirWallex - Each payment is subject to a Confirmation of Payee (CoP) check, verifying that the account details match the bank’s records.
- UK with Crezco: CoP may be applied by the bank; the payee name in Xero must match the name held by the bank.
- US with Melio: Melio verifies supplier payment details when first entered and saves them. Its Supplier Network also contains pre-verified businesses.
We appreciate these standalone features don't expand to the full list of Contacts as requested here, nor at the time of contact entry, or as a periodic check or view of date last updated. This is something we'll continue to keep a close watch of interest of here.

It would be good if Xero could validate bank details when entered in case there is an account or sort code error or if the account does not match the name of the account holder. Most banks now offer this service to prevent fraud and payment errors.

This would be a useful safeguard, especially for suppliers that are only paid occasionally. A configurable reminder after 3 or 6 months could prompt users to verify bank details before processing a new payment, helping reduce errors and potential fraud. Hi, a method to update that we have manually verified the bank account details would great please (a tick box or similar). In the era of scams we are increasingly verifying the legitmacy of suppliers details to prevent fraud, so it would be good to see at a glance (from the contact page) the status of each account.

That would help prevent payment risks. Regular reminders to verify supplier bank details can save a lot of trouble later. Last Paid Date flag for Vendor or Check bank account details alert.
Increasing there is a need to check bank details for Suppliers - to make sure haven't changed. If a Supplier hasn't been used for many months, Xero doesn't prompt the bank details to be checked. We have had cases where the supplier changed owners and bank accounts but not informed us. The bank details weren't checked. it would be useful if we could have an alert or flag that prompts a check after 3 or 6 months.
