Hubdoc - Convert bank statement to csv file
We would like Hubdoc to convert an uploaded Bank statement into a csv file.
So as to easily import the data into Xero to reconcile new bank accounts prior to bank feed connection.
Thanks everyone for the continued support on this idea, and for sharing the detail of how this'd help in your day-to-day work.
We understand this request is especially important for customers and advisors who are working with PDF statements when a direct bank feed isn’t available, when a bank doesn’t offer a usable CSV export, or when manually converting and cleaning statement data adds extra time and effort.
When we last updated this idea, we shared that PDF bank statement conversion had been introduced in limited regions. Since then, we’ve continued to look closely at where we can best improve the document capture and data entry experience across Xero.
Hubdoc remains a core part of our offering, however to be transparent we’re currently focused on delivering more efficiencies through Xero directly - such as with our new Smart Document Capture within Xero Files.
With that in mind, there isn’t any work planned for this idea. We know that'll be disappointing, particularly for those outside regions where this capability has been available, however we want to be open here so you can make decisions best to accommodate your business.
The support and feedback shared on ideas like this continues to help us understand where customers are experiencing friction, and if anything changes in future we’ll share an update here.

Please add American Express.
Just used this feature for the first time on scanned copies of Wells Fargo Statements. It was an absolute game changer saving days of labor! Thank you!

Please have this feature for Singapore soon.
Now we use other tools to do just as fast conversion to CSV.
So I hope Hubdoc does not lose out on this integrated ability, and take too long to roll it out. Hahaha.

When will this feature be available in Australia and also available in MyXero? Will it mean that the pdf bank statement is uploaded into Xero, read by xero and be ready for reconciliation without the need to upload the csv file?

Please add this for Australian Hubdoc urgently. Have moved several clients from receiptbank to hubdoc and really miss this very critical feature as it was an efficient, timesaver providing accuracy of transactions

Yes please for the UK.
Some clients are just not organsied enough to provide a bank feed or QIF files.
Excel/cv files can be more trouble than they are worth to tidy up for upload.
Pdf paper or soft copy can take a long time to input (especially when littered with personal transactions).
The solution is certainly out there. I'd rather pay charges to Xero than AutoEntry (albeit it less per bank statement). -

Finally being able to select all / select a number of imported pdf invoices and convert them to CSV or Excel is vital!

This feature only works if you are provided with a "direct from bank" downloaded PDF and if the PDF is security enhanced will not work. Most bank statements directly from the bank are security enhanced.
This converter should work with a scanned copy of a bank statement - your competition's conversions already work with scanned copies.
