Contacts - improve contact search in Xero to prioritise surname
Please improve the Contact Search function so that when a user types the first few letters of a contact’s name (for example, the first three letters), contacts whose surname begins with those letters are prioritised at the top of the search results.
At present, search results often prioritise contacts where the same letters appear within an email address or elsewhere in the contact record, making it more difficult to locate the intended contact quickly.
Prioritising surname matches would make the search function more intuitive, significantly improve efficiency, and better reflect how most users search for contacts.
Hi Mark, appreciate your time to suggest this. We understand the request to make contact searches more intuitive, particularly when the search term list out multiple results. The ability to surface surnames could make finding customers and suppliers quicker and easier.
