  1. Why has this been removed? I genuinely can't understand any good reason for doing so from a Xero user perspective. Please reinstate as soon as possible! It is such a helpful, immediate visual tool to be able to qet a quick insight into a client, or suppliers, payment history and patterns of behaviour. It highlights immediately where there may be gaps and is something I (and others in our business) make use of on a daily basis. Additionally, as someone who benefits from visual learning, to completely take this option away is hugely disappointing. I'm now faced with a page…

Hi all, if you hadn’t already spotted, the Money in/out graph is back 🎉

It shows the cash in and out over last 12 months, and you can still mouse over the graph to show the actual amounts. The bars now have a minimum size for visibility! In the old graph depending on the difference in cash amounts the smaller bar would sometimes not be visible.

With this updated version you can switch to a table view that was added for our accessibility users/ those who prefer seeing a table rather than a graph. You can also choose to show or hide the graph entirely, just use the overflow menu above - see screenshot for illustration.

Thanks again for all your feedback on this change, we’re glad to be able to bring back an improved version!

  2. Can I also please say, how frustrating it is that you can not now attach a file to a contact from the file library. This is how we have always attached our end of month creditor statements, that are emails to us, we have always forwarded these directly the file library, re name as required and then attach to the contact from the file library when completing the checking process for each creditor. This now will mean that statements can not be forwarded directly from the creditor email but will have to now be saved into a PC desktop file…

    Hi team, we've now released the ability to upload files directly from your computer to a contacts record! As noted in our last update, you'll find;

    • The file library uploader option is now back on the Files tab of the Contact overview
    • We display all files (including previously attached ones) allowing you to attach a file to multiple documents (e.g. Contact, Invoices…)
    • We've enabled the ability to add multiple files from file library in one go

Thanks again for all your feedback around this and we appreciate you staying tuned to the idea here. 🙂

  3. Would like an option to list customers and the date they were entered on Xero and time they've been a customer for.

Sorry for not engaging this idea sooner, and thanks for your comment here, Freya!

As shown in the image - If you click on 'Name' to the left of your contacts list you'll see a drop down of options including the ability to select 'Date added' which will re-order your contacts based on the date they were added to your organisation in Xero.

  4. any way to assign properties to Customers?

example - we hire 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers, so for every customer I tick their appropriate container.

this way if i need a report on all customers who have a 20ft container, job is easy and fast

In Sap B1 this is available as per pic attached

  5. Contacts due dates to be set as a standard company wide setting unless changed within the individual contact.

For example as a company we work on the basis that all payments and receipts are due 30 days from invoice, this should be able to be entered within the company settings and should already be filled in when creating a new contact.

  6. Discovered an error. In the customer settings, when placing 0 in the field for “Days invoice when due” shows an error, despite Xero using 0 when calculating when an invoice is due.

  7. If I want to see all invoices for a customer, I have to go to invoices and filter in various ways to get the results I want. This seems counterintuitive. I would expect to go to the customer under contacts and be able to see all information relevant to that customer including invoices.

Hi Nicola, you can see all invoices for a customer from the Activity tab of their Contact record. There are options to either view all, or just Invoices or Bills. From the tab it's also possible to filter the invoices by Status or other options.

  8. Bulk Edit/Updates - for all or a selection of Customers or Suppliers in particular Sales Defaults such as Sales Account, Invoice Due Date, Discount, Branding Theme and Region and Purchase Defaults such as Purchase Account, Bill Due Date and Region

  10. Allocate Contact Groups from Contact Page

At the moment you have to go into each individual contact to allocate a group, it would be beneficial to be able to allocate the group from the contact page.

You can add contacts to groups from the main Contact list page, Jane 😊

Simply select the contacts you'd like to add to a group then click the Add to group option on the left header.

Sorry to hear the trouble you were having with setting up, Ngawang. I hope you've managed to resolve this but if you still need any help our specialists at Xero Support will be happy to give you a hand. You can get in touch with them by clicking the Contact Xero Support option found at the bottom of most pages throughout Xero Central. We have some more pointers on getting help here.

  12. If I'm looking at the "Financial Details" tab for a contact, when I click the "Edit" button, I should be taken to the "Financial details" section of the "Edit contact" page. Currently, it takes me to the first section, which happens to be "Contact details".

Hi everyone, coming back over the idea here this idea has now been implemented with other changes in Contacts.

Now, when you select to edit a contact from Financial details tab you'll automatically be directed to the Financial details section when the edit screen opens. 🎉

  13. When you view a contact, you are able to see outstanding invoices and quotations from this contact. But it will be helpful to see quotations that have been accepted by this contact to make invoicing easier.

Hi community, as shared in my last update you can view both draft and accepted quotes from the Activity on a Contacts record.

I've attached an example I created in the demo co. 🙂

  14. It would be great if we could search from within a customer or supplier record for a specific invoice or bill number.

It is difficult at the moment to search as
    1) there are always notes in the way that can't be hidden
    2) you have to exit the customer/supplier to find the screen where a search is available.

Having used other accounting packages, I was shocked to see this wasn't available within Xero.

Hi team, sorry we've not returned to this idea sooner. You'll find with some of the updates we've made to the contacts record it is now possible to view transactions in separate tabs within the Activity of a Contact, and are also able to search transactions in the tab by amount, reference or invoice number 🙂

  15. This is a basic need. In the past, it was possible to set VAT country as NONE to add the tax number, now in the new UI is not possible, since the UI requires selecting a country. Please fix that as soon as possible, since we need to add the tax number on the invoice to non-EU countries!!!

    Hi everyone 😊

This has now been changed so that you can edit the Financial Details for a contact, and set VAT to None, then enter a tax number for them.

There's more detail on this here: Edit a contact
