  1. It would be great if the new smart document capture could link the bill that's being created to a purchase order. At the moment the only way to do this is to copy the purchase order to the bill. All our bills have to be linked to the PO's so not being able to do this in the new document capture tool makes it useless.

    Hi Ruby, pleased to update that this feature has now been released to all organisations that have the Smart capture documents feature.

    You'll find you can now drop down to select Bills as a document type to create from an analysed file. 😁

    As shown in the image - If you click on 'Name' to the left of your contacts list you'll see a drop down of options including the ability to select 'Date added' which will re-order your contacts based on the date they were added to your organisation in Xero.

  3. any way to assign properties to Customers?

    example - we hire 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers, so for every customer I tick their appropriate container.

    this way if i need a report on all customers who have a 20ft container, job is easy and fast

    In Sap B1 this is available as per pic attached

  4. Contacts due dates to be set as a standard company wide setting unless changed within the individual contact.

    For example as a company we work on the basis that all payments and receipts are due 30 days from invoice, this should be able to be entered within the company settings and should already be filled in when creating a new contact.

  5. Discovered an error. In the customer settings, when placing 0 in the field for “Days invoice when due” shows an error, despite Xero using 0 when calculating when an invoice is due.

    Thanks for your confirmation, Margaret. I've slightly updated the title of our idea here, and want to confirm how this works.

    If you've connected Hubdoc with your Xero organisation, once you've published an invoice to Xero from Hubdoc, and you're in a region that Xero supports eInvoicing you'll be able to send eInvoice to customers that have registered to receive eInvoices.

    We have more detail on how eInvoicing with Xero works and the regions we currently support on our website.

  7. After uploading a file, one must select account and what it is (bill, invoice, expense, spend money)etc, before you see what it is. I should be able to open file, add all the details, while viewing the image/document

  8. If I want to see all invoices for a customer, I have to go to invoices and filter in various ways to get the results I want. This seems counterintuitive. I would expect to go to the customer under contacts and be able to see all information relevant to that customer including invoices.

    Hi Nicola, you can see all invoices for a customer from the Activity tab of their Contact record. There are options to either view all, or just Invoices or Bills. From the tab it's also possible to filter the invoices by Status or other options.

  9. I would find it helpful to be able to add 'file library' to my dashboard. I have to upload receipts for on account purchases through the month in preparation for the end of month statement and it would speed things up to be able to open file library from dashboard

  12. You can only select one photo at a time from your phone to upload to Hubdoc via the mobile app. It would be nice to be able to select multiple photos of receipts to upload at once.

    It makes such a difference for customers who travel and take pictures of receipts - It takes up too much time for them to have to individually upload them to the app - so then they don't do it, and I have to chase - so I'd love to see this feature in the mobile app itself.

    Hi everyone, pleased to share that it is now possible to upload up to 10 images at once via the Hubdoc mobile app. Images can be bulk uploaded using the camera capture or your device’s gallery. Thank you all for sharing with us here. 

  13. when reconciling & uploading attached invoices/ receipts via app they don't show on xero desktop application in accounts transaction screen. It currently shows items as reconciled but with no uploaded documents icon.

    Hi Dean, from what you've described in behaviour it sounds like the files you've uploaded are attached to the invoice or bill directly.

    If you've attached a file to a Receive or Spend money or Payment directly when reconciling on the Xero Accounting app you'll see a file icon next to the transaction on the Account Transactions list when viewing the bank account on the desktop that you can click and will open a preview modal of the files attached.

    If you have attached files directly to your invoices or bills you'll be able to view the file icon next to these transactions from the relevant Sales or Bill list screens on your desktop.

    If you'd like some help to confirm what you're viewing here it'd be good to raise a case with our specialists through Xero Central who have tools to get a closer look at your organisation and…

  14. Allocate Contact Groups from Contact Page

    At the moment you have to go into each individual contact to allocate a group, it would be beneficial to be able to allocate the group from the contact page.

    You can add contacts to groups from the main Contact list page, Jane 😊

    Simply select the contacts you'd like to add to a group then click the Add to group option on the left header.

  16. Hi xero team, all my friends are recommended to use Xero for my small buisiness, its so easy to ure and so on, but i found so hard to established. i still couldn't able to link my bank account. this message comes up when i tried to link, see in the attached files.

  18. When you view a contact, you are able to see outstanding invoices and quotations from this contact. But it will be helpful to see quotations that have been accepted by this contact to make invoicing easier.

    Hi community, as shared in my last update you can view both draft and accepted quotes from the Activity on a Contacts record. 

    I've attached an example I created in the demo co. 🙂

  19. It would be great if we could search from within a customer or supplier record for a specific invoice or bill number.

    It is difficult at the moment to search as
    1) there are always notes in the way that can't be hidden
    2) you have to exit the customer/supplier to find the screen where a search is available.

    Having used other accounting packages, I was shocked to see this wasn't available within Xero.

    Hi team, sorry we've not returned to this idea sooner. You'll find with some of the updates we've made to the contacts record it is now possible to view transactions in separate tabs within the Activity of a Contact, and are also able to search transactions in the tab by amount, reference or invoice number 🙂
