  1. Aged Payables Report
    This new report defaults to todays date, and you cannot create a template that defaults to the end of the current month. I need this report to show the actual invoices owing, as if I use today's date it shows invoices owing that I have already sent to my bank for payment at the end of the month. The old report worked great and defaulted to the month, but it would be great if this was an option for the new report.

    Hey everyone - Just a quick update to let you know we’ve tweaked the default date picker on this report 😊

    Now, if you open the Aged Payables, the date will default to the end of the month, and not today’s date - replicating the behaviour of the old version.

  2. Can you please sort accounts within a "group" on the P&L / Balance sheet as alphabetical? Currently they are random it and looks unprofessional

    Hi Tara, to offer flexibility users can drag & drop accounts to change the order of where they appear in Financial reports (including within a group) through the Layout editor

    Being open we don't intend to create an auto ordering feature with this option available.

    Hi team, not long since my last update we have now gone live with our new Journal report in Xero. 😁

    Thanks again for your engagement in community, here.  

    As noted earlier, with the new version of this report along with more detail and abilities to sort and filter you'll find 'Description is now a column that can be included and filtered by in this report! 

  4. I have multiple bank accounts in Xero in which I reconcile payments to the same Chart of Account. I would like to be able to run a report which shows me how much logged against a particular Chart of Account came from each bank account. While at the moment it will show you this in the report it will not total it meaning I have to export to excel and add another step.

  5. It would be very useful to be able to create Account Transaction reports for individual or grouped bank accounts that show detailed descriptions and split transactions and which account (chart of accounts) each item in the split transaction is allocated to.

    You can already do this in the Account Transactions report, Ann. 

    You can select to add Description and Related account as columns so you can see the detail and account each line was coded too. 

  6. We have created contact groups (Accountants Names) and have allocated all of our contacts to their accountant. We want to print a list of the overdue debtor amounts for each accountant so we can follow them up but there is no report that does this.

  7. Add tax depreciation schedules in report packs.
    Currently, only have the option of accounting depreciation but can't change it to tax depreciation.

    Hi community, thanks for contributing your support and interest for adding Tax Depreciation Schedules to report packs. With a recent update we've made it possible for Partners to include Tax Depreciation schedule as a report in Report templates.

    You'll find the Depreciation Schedule, Disposal Schedule, Pooling Summary and Pooling detail all options when adding reports to a template from your practice. 🙂

  8. Balance Sheet Report Title is always "CASH BASIS"

    At the top left of the report it always says "Balance Sheet - Cash Basis" even when you choose Accrual. And when the file is downloaded, it always says Cash even if the report is Accrual. Note that in the actual report, it DOES indicate correctly whether it is accrual or cash.

  9. The new Account Transaction report doesn't show the reference from Transfers which the old report did. There is a reference column in the new reports but it is blank for transfers - can it be updated to show this?

    Hi everyone, returning to the idea here we're going to move this to delivered. When using Transfer and you've included a reference this'll appear when running the Account Transactions report in Xero. Check out our earlier status update for an image of what this looks like. 

  10. It would be great if when you download a report into PDF that the headings for each column are on each page like the sticky headings. If you have a multiple page report and you only get the headers on the first page you have to keep scrolling back to the top to remember which column is which.

    Hi Ann, as you may have found with Xero's new reports, now when you export a report to PDF if you have multiple pages column headers will be shown at the top of each page. 

    Sorry it's taken a little to round back on this here and thanks for sharing your idea in community here. 

  11. I would like to request that a report be designed where you can determine which purchase orders contain the "quantity on order" on a specific code. At the moment the only report you can pull is one where it shows which bills and invoices contain that code.

    We work with thousands of products, and we need to find a way to determine which purchase orders have certain codes. There should be an option to pull a report based on the item code, showing what is on order (including the PO number) as well as the bills and invoices.

    Hi community, since this idea was raised we have developed Xero reports - You'll now find a common format option to the left side panel within the Payable Invoice Detail report to view All purchase order details'

    The report includes the Item Code column by default, and you can also set Grouping/Summarising to Group by Item Code to group items together.

    Additionally you could Filter the report, for example by Status, to only view Current orders.

  12. It would be great to be able to add custom reports, such as Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, to the Tax and reporting tab on the Dashboard

    Hi team, this is available through the Payable Invoice Detail or Summary reports at present which can be filtered for a specific supplier. Alternatively, you could run the Supplier Invoice Bills Activity report (found in the Contact Transactions Summary)

  15. Please add an option to change the default column order in a financial report for a user. This would save quite a bit of time when building long run trend graphs etc

    Hi Les, this is possible through the use of Custom reports. Once you change the format of the report, Save as custom where you'll also find you have the option to make this the default. 

    It will need to be set up for each financial report you'd like to implement this across, but once done can be an easy select each time it's used by yourself or another in the org. 

  16. The ability to analyse year on year customer revenue by selecting your time frame and comparing across a number of selected years (this is what I would like) or by month / year. Allows to have a quick snapshot on how each customer account is performing and address any obvious loss of custom / sales. A basic analysis report but a highly useful and informative one. The ability to compare in this way exists on Xero for profit and loss but not for customer accounts.

  17. To have a report for NET Sales for a month. Currently there is a report that only shows what's payable with VAT (not all sales are vatable) so, when trying to reconcile with the in-house ordering program it becomes a whole big xcel spreadsheet exercise...... takes to much time. the report also includes Prepayments which are not goods sold, but money transactions in advance

  18. Since the OLD reports are going i think there should be a way to reset the New Custom reports to default layouts as on one of our clients someone managed to break a report and without noticing we were using incorrect figures for some time

  20. It would be great to be able to enter custom comparative dates on the new reports.

    For example, say I want to run a 10 month P&L report for a client, the only "custom" comparative option is the previous 10 months. What I really want to be able to do (quickly, not by editing the report) is compare with the same 10 months from the previous year.

    Having a proper custom date entry field would enable this to be possible and surely assist in other comparative scenarios.

    Thanks for the image, Benjamin. This is possible atm, however when selecting your 'Compare with' you'll want to select 1 year, rather than the Custom date range. 

    This'll then give you a comparative period to the previous year based on the date range you've set in the report - I've attached an example I've created in the demo co.
