Dashboard – Monthly & Yearly Sales Overview
Sales report is necessary in dashboard. (Monthly and yearly wise report)
1 voteHi Jose, a Monthly & Yearly Sales Overview is already supported in Xero.
You can add your sales accounts to the Chart of Accounts watchlist widget on the dashboard. These widgets display both the current month and year-to-date figures for the selected accounts, giving you a quick snapshot of sales performance without needing to run a separate report.

Reporting - Add "Same period last year" date range shortcut
Profit and loss report from "from this time last year" as opposed to the current "from last year". I think it would be really handy to see how the business is going compared to the same time last year.

-this financial year
-last month

-Last financial year

We completely understand—when analysing business performance, quickly seeing how you’re tracking compared to the same time last year is key for spotting trends and seasonal changes.
You can already do this using the “Compare with” feature in the new Profit and Loss report. Select Previous Year, and Xero will show the corresponding data from the same period one year earlier. This works for standard periods like This Month or custom date ranges, and you can save it as a custom report for one-click access next time. We hope this will help you to analyse your reports!

Reporting - Show actuals vs expenses
Add Budget amount to expenditure reporting and show balance amount. To add Budget amount as well as spending expenses so budget holder can see their budget amount and spending and how much is left.
1 voteHi Diana, thanks for raising this here! We appreciate the need to see a proper view of your budgets. Did you know that The Budget Variance report lets you compare your actual revenue and expenses with budgeted amounts? Use the settings and filters at the top of the report to customise it.

Report - Contact created date
Report to see when a customer account was opened/set up. When conducting customer credit account reviews it would be handy if there was a report to see what date a customer account was set up. So you are only reviews accounts that have been opened for a year. At the moment the only way to see when an account was set up is to look at the notes/history on each individual account.
7 votesHi Kristin, sorry no one's got back on your post here sooner. You can actually run the History & Notes in Xero to view all Contacts that have been created within a period.
To zone into to just the Contact created entries, adjust the 'Type filter to 'Contact', Apply.
Once you see the results you can also do a search where I'd recommend entering 'Created' which will weddle out other entries so you can just zone into the contacts that were created in the period. 🙂

Reports - Reinstate Combined Departmental report in new P&L
The old version of profit & loss will retire in 31 July. However, the departmental combination report is really helpful. As per attachment, it compares the performance of each department on one page. It is much easier to use and review the performance. Currently, no other report has the same function.
The new version of p&l also has the function to filter the p&l for each department. However, there is no combination report as the old version.
It would be really helpful to have a combined departmental report as the old version of p&l.

Since the new Profit & Loss report was initially released and this idea raised we have made improvements to how you can run and compare tracking (departmental) within the Profit & Loss report that will solve for the needs here.
