Bank Feed - Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)
For Xero to expand their bank feed connections to develop a feed that supports Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)
Hi team, we appreciate the growing interest this idea's gaining and want you to know our product teams are very attuned to our customers desire for a bank feed for CAF bank.
We're continuing to work closely with our third party integrators to make more bank feeds available via open banking. A feed for CAF is high on our agenda, however we're reliant on third party integrators to support this integration in order for us to deliver this for you all.
I want to assure you we're pushing for it's integration, but we cannot commit or confirm a timeline for this work to be undertaken.
As soon as there's progress to share we'll happily provide further updates for you all.

This would save so much valuable charity time and money to be able to have our bank feed directly into Xero

The lack of an automatic feed to Xero from CAF Bank creates extra work and introduces the opportunity for errors to arise when selecting dates to download and when reformatting files to upload. Volunteer time is a scarce resource and staff time has to be paid for, so Xero could make a valuable contribution to the charity sector by enabling automatic feeds from CAF Bank.

I believe CAF have said that they are ready to go from their end so we need Xero to do their part to make it work.
We all know how useful bank feeds are and so it's incredibly frustrating that the charities who bank with CAF don't have feeds. Charity budgets for support costs are often tight and so any efficiencies that can be gained are vital to help charities to stretch their budgets further and help their beneficiaries.

The CAF bank feed will save us hours chasing data and pasting it everywhere. This is absolutely crucial

it's like Waiting for Godot.
Meanwhile we have lots of other new 'features' that are of no use to me. And I cant see loads of people asking for them either.

This would make a huge difference to charity clients for whom CAF bank is the best choice for so many other reasons.

Adding my vote too to get the CAF bank feed prioritised. Charity staff always have to put in more hours to get the work done than is reasonable, and the additional time taken without the bank feed is a burden which it would be wonderful to lift.

An automatic CAF feed would make our reconciliations so much more efficient. We have a volunteer who carries out our management accounting and this would make their role so much easier. It would also result in more timely information, enabling us to make decisions more easily and provide more accurate information to funders when reporting back.

Just adding my strong vote to get the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) bank feed prioritized.
While the new QFX downloads help, this remains a tedious manual process for charities. We deal with a very high volume of aggregated donations via CAF, meaning reconciliation takes hours every month. This is valuable time we should be spending on our charitable mission, not administrative backlog.
An automatic CAF feed is essential for Xero to truly support the non-profit sector efficiently. Please move this to 'In Development' soon—it would be a massive efficiency gain for all charities using Xero. Thanks

Interested to read the positive comments re Quick Books and their bank feed to CAF - our accountant is already recommending a transfer for QB's superior functionality and overall ease of use, so the fact that we'd have a feed too is a major sway in their favour.
Anyone else had good experience with Quick Books? I have zero faith (pun intended) that Xero will deliver a feed in the foreseeable future. It's quite clear we're just getting platitudes in response to our requests. -

Quick Books are amazing. Much better than Zero especially as they have been proactive in getting a banking feed established. So pleased with the customer service from Quick Books, an amazing organisation who understand the needs of charities

Thanks for the update, but it’s hard not to feel that we’re hearing the same message we heard a year ago, interest noted, no timeframe, maybe someday.
At this point, it comes across less like a development challenge and more like prolonged procrastination. A bank feed is not a niche request; it’s a core function that many Xero users desperately need. The continued lack of clarity suggests that either this isn’t a priority for Xero, or there is no real intention to deliver it any time soon.
The absence of even a rough timeline is simply unacceptable for users trying to plan their financial operations. Many of us are now questioning whether Xero is still the right platform for our businesses/organisation. A clearer commitment, not just “hope to explore”, is long overdue.
