Open Banking: Enable for all UK banks to allow updates on demand
ALL banks should be able to refresh. I am with The Co-op for my business banking. I was previously with Quickbooks for my accounting software and was able to refresh my bank feed whenever I needed to. With Xero I can't. Being on top of the money in the bank is crucial to business owners. Having to wait a day, or sometimes days, for the information to feed in is debilitating and very frustrating. If the bank can provide the feed to one accounting software company, then the problem is not with the bank. Please, Xero. Please sort this out. Accounting software needs to be front end efficient for the people relying on it every day. A lot of people have requested for their own particular bank - and there are a lot of them - so it is something that needs lumping into one 'idea' and dealing with. Thankyou in advance.

We are always keen to explore more bank feed integrations to make managing your finances as seamless as possible.
While we know that not all banks are currently on Open Banking, but reaching out directly to your bank is still the most effective step. Let them know you'd like them to adopt Open Banking so you can connect with Xero—banks value hearing directly from their account holders about the connections they need.
In the meantime, we’re moving this product idea to Gaining Support. This will help us gauge broader interest and give other members of the community a place to share their experiences or updates regarding bank feeds with this and other institutions.

The admin response of 3 Aug 2026 implies the problem lies with the bank. This is not the case with the Co-operative Bank, which already supports Open Banking. It is Xero that needs to update its arrangement with the Co-op Bank to use their Open Banking interface.

It's especially frustrating on Mondays when payments made over the weekend don't show until Tuesday. Banks have caught up, Xero needs to as well

All the main banks in the UK are required to support Open Banking feeds and Xero (UK) Limited is listed on the openbanking.org.uk website as also supporting such feeds. These feeds support updates of transactions at any time, not just once per working day.
So why does Xero not use Open Banking for the feed from the Co-operative Bank?

We also use the Cooperative Bank. It seems the agreement that Xero have with the Co-op Bank only allows one update per working day.
I know that the Co-op Bank can provide instant updates because Quickbooks was able to do this when we used them using Open Banking.
Why can't Xero use Open Banking with all banks that support it?
