Hi everyone, we'd like to provide an update as we’ve recently launched the new Manual Journals experience in the US, in which this idea has now been addressed.
From the Manual Journals list, you can toggle the “Show manual journals on a cash basis” setting on or off. This sets the default for all journals you create in that org, and it can also be changed within individual journals.
This is currently available in the US only, but we’re planning to roll it out to other regions soon. I’ll keep this thread updated as it lands in more places.

Insane that this is the default based on how journals are fundamentally used. Really needs to be changed. You can't even journal to a bank account assuming it has been set-up as such. Madness.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on this idea. We appreciate you sharing how important granular leave reporting is for your payroll processing. We understand many of you are tracking Leave outside of Xero as a workaround.
We hear you’re also interested in a Leave Balances Report. UK Payroll - Leave Balances Report is a separate Product Idea, so we’d love to see your votes and ideas on this topic too.
Whilst a Leave Transactions Report is not currently set in our roadmap, our product team is reviewing the viability of developing more comprehensive reporting solutions.
We are changing the status of this idea to Accepted. Keep an eye on this idea and we’ll update you when there are further developments.

Thanks everyone for your continued feedback on the need for a Leave Balances Report in UK Payroll. We appreciate you all taking the time to vote, comment, and share how this feature would improve your workflow.
Currently the options for viewing this information is via individual payslips or within each employee’s leave tab.
As part of a wider review into improving UK Payroll reporting, we’re moving the status of this idea to Accepted. We agree a Leave Balances Report is a valuable addition and it’s something we want to address.
While it isn’t on our immediate roadmap right now, it is formally on our radar for consideration as we plan future payroll updates. We will share another update here when we have more news on our plans.

Us - "Hey guys. We really need a sandwich. The Aussies and Kiwis have a sandwich and that looks like exactly what we need."
Xero - "Sure, here is some flour, yeast and water. And a live pig. That's what you asked for, right?"

Weird this is not available in the UK. I am not a coder, but sure if it exist for Australia and New Zealand, the basic infrastructure should be there and simple to implement.
This is the first client with a decent size payroll that uses Xero for payroll and the functionality is lacking, I find. It is this sort of oversight that is so frustrating. Why would it not be included? It does not seem to be worth the premium charged.

Heya community👋 thanks for the discussions and input through this idea overtime. I know it's been quiet on our end but want you to know your feedback has been getting back to the right places.
We have a couple of features I'd like to highlight here, as well as let you know our product team are currently developing the Bills View and Edit pages in which the pain points here will be solved. 😊
- Simply upload files to bills to automatically extract and create your bills in draft for you. You can upload multiple files at once and let Xero do the grit work. Once they're ready simply review
- Smart document capture - You can simply upload your files to the inbox and Xero will take the effort out of things by extracting key data and auto suggesting create transactions for you (Invoice, Bills, Spend and Receive money)
I'll return…

Attachment previews are now tiny. With the pointless extra preview of other pages, it has shrunk the other main invoice preview and if you zoom in it is no longer wide enough. Even on my *very large screen* it is rendered pointless and the only way to read the info is to download. This is especially stupid on a single page document. Why would I want to know that the other sheets say? There aren't any. Please fix.

Hi everyone, we appreciate why you’d like a report that provides visibility of VAT late claims to streamline your reconciliation processes, especially around year-end and for monthly VAT returns.
Currently, it's possible to use the Account Transactions report to manually reconcile against filed VAT returns, although we get the desire for a more automated solution.
This isn’t on the team’s roadmap at present, however this is something we'll continue to consider how we accommodate these needs in future planning for tax reports in Xero. I'll be sure to let you know if there is any movement to share, here.

So, let's get this straight. You can spend $2.5bn on a payment platform but you can't pay a software developer for half a day to make what will be an easy change? This is not rocket science.
It is stuff like this, plus the excessive price rises, makes it increasingly hard for me recommend Xero to my clients.
