Account Transactions Report - Show Reference for Transfer transactions
The new Account Transaction report doesn't show the reference from Transfers which the old report did. There is a reference column in the new reports but it is blank for transfers - can it be updated to show this?
3 votesHi everyone, returning to the idea here we're going to move this to delivered. When using Transfer and you've included a reference this'll appear when running the Account Transactions report in Xero. Check out our earlier status update for an image of what this looks like.

Sales invoice - Auto fill sales person
Option to Auto Fill Account, Tax Rate, Sales person for all rows. It gets quite time consuming to manually add for each line (even if it is a button at the top of the fields allowing auto fill of all, that would greatly help)
1 voteHi, Neilson, as noted in my last update, it sounds like Tracking is the most appropriate feature for auto filling your sales person in an invoice. You can add defaults for contacts that'll automatically populate the tracking column as you enter lines within an invoice for that contact.

Invoices: Ability to add or minus a bulk amount on an invoice
The ability to add or minus a bulk amount on a invoice(not just a discount)
PercentageWould be great so can add fuel levy in or minus a amount off the total of invoice
That you need ect.3 votesHi all, as previously shared this is possible by adding a new line to your invoice. You can add both positive or negative lines to the invoice to change the total amount.
Alternatively rather than a line in itself you could use new invoicing to discount each line by a total amount.

Invoice - Send / Issue Invoices directly to Whatsapp
Send / Issue Invoices directly to Whatsapp: Clients of our would love the function to be able to send invoices directly to a Whatsapp account/number from Xero (similar to the "Email" button on invoices). Client contact numbers are already listed on Xero Contacts. Even if this was only added to the Xero mobile app, we think this would be a huge benefit for many businesses.
5 votesHi all, I'm pleased to let you know it's possible to share via WhatsApp. If you're using the mobile app, on the invoice you'd like to send, use the menu in the top right for more options and select Share... Your mobile will come up with options for sharing and if you have WhatsApp installed you can send it to your WhatsApp contacts.
If you're using the web version, on the invoice you'd like to send, use the menu in the top right for more options and select Get link. From here you can copy the link and use WhatsApp Web to compose your message and paste the link to the invoice.
Hope this helps!

Automatically mark quotes as invoiced
The ability to automatically mark accepted quotes as invoiced when the invoice has been raised. this would help highlight outstanding accepted quotes and therefore outstanding workload.
1 voteThis may depend on your current workflow, Steve. You do currently get an option when creating an invoice from an existing quote to 'mark as invoiced' - see more on this here

add product code to purchase order template
I would like a template for a purchase order to personalise it to the needs of our company, as you can with an invoice.
1 voteThanks, Geoff. 🙂
Dianne, you'll be able to open and adjust the Purchase Orders template when using advanced branding - Here's a list of the includable fields for each template
Item code is included in the Purchase order template by default.

Purchase order | Copy to - Navigate to list of bills
When you make invoice from Purchase order through "Copy to" function, invoice(bill) made and showed the windows with only bills which made from the Purchase order seconds ago.
However recently Xero changed their look and it has changed to nothing.
Once you did the same follow-through, it only shows up the purchase order overview of the list you made from purchase order and you have to select Bill section again which shows all the bills not only you just made from the purchase order but also other existing bills. What a wasting time.
It is not an improvement, rather going…1 voteHi Soonam, as an update to the new Bills view you'll find you can now set a 'Default bill page' so each time you navigate to the bills area you should be taken straight to the page you've set as the default. 🙂

Reports - Show headers on each page of report
It would be great if when you download a report into PDF that the headings for each column are on each page like the sticky headings. If you have a multiple page report and you only get the headers on the first page you have to keep scrolling back to the top to remember which column is which.
4 votesHi Ann, as you may have found with Xero's new reports, now when you export a report to PDF if you have multiple pages column headers will be shown at the top of each page.
Sorry it's taken a little to round back on this here and thanks for sharing your idea in community here.

Inventory - Edit from the list view
I would like to make a suggestion (for XERO improvements). on the inventory page, where it is listed, where there are 3 dots on the right (currently only archive or delete), can EDIT not be added there, rather than first clicking on it, and then searching the edit button on the top of the next screen
3 votesThis now now available, Mieke! 🎉 From your list of Products and services you'll find the option to Edit from the 3 dots to the right of the item. Thanks for sharing with us on this, here. 😁

Payroll UK: Import annual leave from planday to xero
The ability to import annual leave from Planday to Xero so you are not creating it twice on both platforms.
1 voteHi Chris, thanks for your idea here. Understand you may have completed the process yourself by now, but incase you have other orgs you're looking to set up and for others that may be looking for the same - We've released new Switching Wizard in Payroll for the UK.
This'll make it easier to transition from your current payroll provider to Xero Payroll, reducing errors and saving you time.
As part of the experience, you'll be able to import a Full Payment Summary(FPS) from your current software provider to Xero Payroll. You can get more understanding of how this works on our website and through our short video.

Quote Register
Quote Register. Good to have the ability to progressively bill a quote.
Either through the sales screen or a report to see the progress of a quote that has been invoiced as most clients bill a deposit and then a final bill once job completed.
It would be good doe say a window like the invoicing screen to be able to add quote amount and be able top compare that to an invoiced amount so you know the status or every quote.
8 votesHi all, we've released updates to the Receivable Summary and Detail so you can now include Quotes as a Source in these reports.
You'll also find that our team have created two quick view options on the left side panel where you can switch to view all quotes , or just outstanding quotes easily all together.
With these additions, you'll be able to get in and add filters to create the view you're after. Once set up Save as to make it nice and handy. 🙂

Bills | Batch payment - Create one payment for specific suppliers monthly statement
In the bills batch payment function - roll together invoices due for each supplier for one payment that would reconcile once bank feed comes through. We often have 20 + invoices by supplier for our key suppliers per month. Have ability to save bank particulars and reference by supplier (theirs and ours) so auto populates when running batch payment.
2 votesHi team, with no further interaction on this idea in some time, we'll shift to delivered.
You can use batch payments to select multiple bills from a single supplier to pay together. If you're trying to get a view of the bills to a single supplier you could send a Remittance, or run the Supplier Bill Activity report, or the Expenses by contact report to view totals for a collection of your suppliers. 🙂 Within an individual contact you'll also find that you can save financial details to simplify the batch payment process, too.

Remove "Attention" to the "To" address and improve format in invoice
Not sure if this is a problem for others but I couldn't exactly find the same description but there's a similar one, See https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D51N0000554XuiSAE/the-word-attention-from-registered-address-line-at-bottom-of-invoice
In the "To" section of the invoice, for some reason, After stating the client's company name, the next line with say "Attention: then it's the same company name, followed by the full address and then without starting a new line, then "Attn:" Name of the contact person.
This looks very sloppy as the "Attention" is repeated in the wrong place, the client's company name is repeated, and then the contact person is not in a separate…
1 voteHey Sally,
This can happen when the client's name has been entered in the 'Attention' field of the contact's record. If you don't want the Attention line to appear on your invoices, you can edit the customers contact's record to remove it from the address field.
I've confirmed this works in the global demo organisation. As we can see in the attached screenshot, the 'attention' field has been removed from the address.

Inventory - Reporting sale evaluations
WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO GET MONTHLY SALES TOTALS OF THE INDIVIDUEL PRODUCT ID CODES
IS THERE CURRENTLY ANY WAY TO DO THIS
WE HAVE THREE WAREHOUSE LOCATIONS PREFIXED WITH WAREHOUSES CODE AND 20 VARIATIONS OF PRODUCT IN SIZES AND TYPES AND WE NEED TO SEE EASILY WHAT IS SELLING MOST ETC IN EACH OF THOSE PRODUCT CODES
IS THIS POSSIBLE
PETER J FCA1 voteHI team, returning to the idea here we will mark this as delivered. As noted in my last update - With the Inventory item Summary report you'll be able to filter to only select the items you're wanting to view and can add columns to view Opening & Closing Balance or Quantities, as well as those sold in the period the reports being run.
Alternatively, you could run the Receivable Invoice Detail report. This'll only include sales of items, and the report includes the Item Code column by default.
You could also set the report up to Group by Item Code, so sales of each item are listed together, complete with totals for the date range.

Bills - Attachment files in overview instead of opening bills
We enter bulk bills into the system and can only attached a copy of the invoice after authorised. To upload these signed invoices are time consuming having to open each bill and then drag or attached the copy invoice.
It would save us so much time if these invoices could be attached directly to the bills in purchase overview instead of having to open every bill.4 votesHi team, appreciate it's been a while since this was first raised here. Recently we released some changes to the list view of bills where you can now 'Quick view' your bills from the list view without having to open each individually.
You'll find by clicking on the eye icon in the list it'll open up a side view of the bill where you can also add attachments 😊

Payroll | Instant data refresh / auto sync when entering payroll details
Payroll doesn't refresh data unless you scroll up and down inside an employees pay all the time
Can you fix this ? Even if you had a button which you could hit to pull changes
into pay amounts quicker
It takes a long time waiting doing the payroll when putting in hours and different rates for each employee each week for the amounts to change and pull through properly10 votesHi everyone, we're going to move this idea to 'Delivered' with the change the team made to Payroll updates!
Thanks for sharing and supporting your personal 'ideal state' - feedback like this really helps shape our product 😊
If you are having issues with the speed of our Payroll function, you can raise a case with Xero support and the team can take a look.

Chart of accounts - Ability to export chart of accounts to .csv file
It would be great if the Export button in Xero could export the chart of accounts to .csv such that the Type of account appears in the .csv file as it is displayed in Xero.
Xero Support advises
- that right now it’s not possible to export the chart of accounts with the account type exactly as it is in Xero; and
- it doesn’t look like this idea has been raised as yet. This really is not a new idea it is only an idea to have the Export button in Xero produce an export file that represents the…
3 votesYou can now use the new export button on the Chart of Accounts page to export any HQ library chart templates. Both Xero and custom templates can be exported to .csv files. To find out more check out this Xero Central article!

UK Payroll - Report with LEL
Hi,
Is it possible to have a report added that includes columns for the Lower Earnings Limit (LEL) NI, LEL to the Primary Threshold (PT) and PT to UEL for NI?
Thank you2 votesHey all 😊 You can find a breakdown of NIC thresholds in the P11 report.
This report shows the pay period YTD per employee as well a breakdown of the different NIC thresholds.

Xero Ledger - split payment
There should be a way to input dates when we want to split the payment to multiple items (invoices/bills) when we reconcile (e.g. cash code or find and match).
Right now, if I want to input multiple invoices/bills that is linked to a one payment, all invoices/bills will need to have same date as the payment date which is technically incorrect.
1 voteHi all, returning to the idea we're going to shift this across to delivered. As noted i my earlier response you can manually enter a payment amount and date of payment on an invoice or bill - Meaning if you need the payment date to differ to the date of the statement line imported this could be manually entered on the invoice or bill pre-hand and matched to the one payment when reconciling.
Alternatively, when reconciling a transactions through find & match in Xero you have the option to 'split' where you can apply a set amount of the payment to the transaction rather than the full amount.
- Don't see your idea?
