  1. Bills - View bills awaiting payment summarised by supplier with the ability to expand supplier to view invoices and select individually or make changes if required.

    You need to use the awaiting payment screen to create batch payments. To make payments you have to select each individual invoice for a supplier which takes time and is inefficient.

    Having the ability to view the awaiting payment screen showing summary (total) for the supplier would be helpful. You can still filter dates so you can see everything owed to a supplier within date range. Much like an Aged Payables report. You can…

  2. AutoPay reporting - Xero needs a report that will show all the customer paying by AutoPay or show the percentage of invoices setup with AutoPay or even just have AutoPay Active/AutoPay offered in a separate column on the list of repeating invoices so we could sort by that information to determine how many of our customers are using AutoPay.

    Hi, thanks for submitting this idea. As you mentioned, the Create option doesn't currently have a way to add a new account into your Chart of Accounts.

  6. We use Xero on top of a project management system (Deltek PIM) which generates employee expenses and supplier invoices. When we export them to Xero they sit as draft bills which we approve. If users of PIM enter an invoice/expense for a prior period, the transaction has to be redated in Xero to prevent it changing the historic management accounts. My suggestion is that there is an option within Draft Bills that would redate draft transaction dates (before posting) to a given date, say 1st of the open period.

  7. In Xero Payroll, it would greatly improve efficiency if the "Save & Next" button appeared at the top of the employee pay details screen, not just at the bottom.

    For businesses with detailed pay setups (multiple earnings lines, deductions, reimbursements, etc.), scrolling to the bottom of every employee’s pay screen just to click "Save & Next" is time consuming and disruptive to workflow.

    Adding this button to the top would:

    • Streamline navigation during pay runs

    • Reduce unnecessary scrolling

    • Improve accessibility for users reviewing multiple employee pays in one session

    This small UI change would make a big difference for payroll…

  8. It would be ideal when in reconcile bank, under the Account Transactions tab, that the lines are sorted newest to oldest as the first option under each sort category.

    Now that we are years into using Xero, it is not necessary to see the old transactions as a first see option.

    I typically sort my account transactions by Status as I want to see unreconciled items on the top and directly beneath that is the reconciled but the first line is the very first transaction posted years before. If I am trying to find a double entry in account transactions…

  9. Option to have pre-loaded descriptions for specific customers when creating a quote. The description should automatically be present when each customer is selected rather than having to select a code to load it.

  10. We pay contractors based on sales reports for each contractor. Getting this report is easy. In fact, Xero does that well. However, to get that same report and deduct a % value or any other value to work out what the contractor payment will be. Then being able to save & print & Email that report. Currently, we export to Excel, and whilst that works great, it is fiddly and time consuming. Probably not for everyone, but handy for some.

    THi Steven 👋, thanks for raising this idea. We appreciate its not straightforward calculating the percentage of invoices paid to contractors, which we know creates extra manual work. Although this is not on our current roadmap, we will monitor this idea for votes and other comments. However, for now, a workaround would continue to be to export the report and use a spreadsheet application to calculate the percentages. 📈


  11. When entering a new stock item, there isn't an opening to enter opening stock.
    We need to create the item first then enter the quantities in an adjustment tab.
    It makes sense to make adjustments to items already created, but surely we should be able enter an opening stock value when creating an item, this would save us a lot of time.

  13. Right now, the dashboard shows "Loading your transactions" for bank accounts far too often and for far too long. The dashboard should always show the current state of the user's accounts, not what is essentially an indeterminate progress bar. It would be more user-friendly to remove the message entirely because it doesn't give users any actionable information. If new transactions come in while the user is doing things, simply update the dashboard to indicate that there are new transactions to reconcile, even if the user just finished reconciling what was there before.

    Hello everyone, we understand that being able to automatically assign tracking categories to users for their expense claims would be a huge benefit, saving you time and ensuring accurate reporting. 📈

  15. Ability to have an expand and collapse button for pays previously posted and presented under Pay Run History.

    After using Xero for a number of years, locating a previous pay run becomes looking for a needle in a haystack as this section is just a swamp of pays.

    Grouping in payroll financial years or having a date filter would assist greatly also.

    Hi Yvonne, thanks so much for raising this idea and sharing your thoughts with us. We totally see how useful it’d be to have the option to expand or collapse pay run history, or group it by financial year in the Payroll product.

    As pay run history builds up, it can definitely get a bit tedious trying to scroll through and find what you need. Having a more organised view would really help when you’re digging into older payroll data.

    As a temporary workaround, you may find it helpful to use Ctrl + F (or Command + F on Mac) to quickly search the screen for a specific date or payroll year. We know it’s not a perfect fix, especially when there’s a lot of data, but it might make things a little quicker in the meantime.

  16. In the Bank Rules it would be very helpful to have a tick box that allows the full original description from the transaction in the bank, to be allocated when you reconcile the transaction.
    Much like the Set Reference as 'reference/description/etc' option but specifically to include the original transactions detail.

    E.g. Bank rule & contact would be: 'Pharmacy'
    - but the original description in is a transaction from 'Boots £3.50' or 'Superdrug £14.00' so when you apply the bank rule and you check the transaction in 'Account transactions' under the specific nominal (e.g. personal care), the description would say the…

  17. I create a purchase order through the Xero App
    I go to Categorise to an account - on my iPhone it has a search accounts feature, on my colleagues Samsung phone there is no search feature - he has to scroll through all the accounts listed to find the correct accounting code
    Will this feature be added to Samsung phones?

    We also found this was the same when selecting Projects or Plant (tracking categories), on my iPhone I had a search feature, on his Samsung he did not and again would have to scroll through the extensive list we have…

  18. It would be really useful if there was an options to tag or colour code invoices in the list view, so that at a glance we could see invoices grouped together for any given reason.

    For example most of my invoices are paid via direct debit, so I'd love a way to tag/colour code the invoices that have not yet signed up for the debit system, so that I can see at a glance how many I am still missing and who I need to follow up on.

Perhaps it's a bug but, while using cash coding /fast coding of a bank account, if nothing is ticked, I can still click 'Save & Reconcile all', which I have done by mistake on 2 occasions, causing panic and painstaking efforts to find out what had been coded and undo it (it was many things that were not meant to use the bank rule or needed further details) EG on the cash code screen , transactions that match bank rule are prefilled, which is great, but does not mean they are ready, so I should only be able to click…

  20. It would be great if Xero allowed businesses to display logos in transaction details, similar to how many banks are now doing. This would make records more visually clear and easier to identify at a glance.
