  2. I would like to be able to assign the 210 CIS labour account to a service for CIS labour. At the moment, I have a couple of services for CIS labour and some for non CIS labour.
    For the Non CIS labour, I can creat a service called 'labour' and add the account code to it.
    This can't be done with CIS labour at the moment as Xero won't allow it. This means that for each line item of CIS labour in an invoice I have to manually add the 210 CIS account.

    Hi Leonie, trying to better understand your idea here. When you say payment and credit allocations screen - is this when reconciling your bank account? Or somewhere a bit different.

    If you can share a bit more detail of where in Xero, and how this feature would help I can ensure it's shared back with the right product team. It'll help others in the community here understand if this is something they'd like to support, too.

  4. When exporting the profit and loss transactions it would be amazing for one of the columns to show the Contact in isolation rather than merging the contact and description into one field. This would allow much easier spreadsheet analysis by contact.

  6. Not a new product idea by any means, just a request to put the GST return back the way it was before the update. So far with the new update, we can no longer see the late claims on a separate tab, we cannot publish the final return in Xero and now we can not be in two different entities at once even if we are incognito mode or in a different web browser.

  7. Enhance the Duplicate Bill Review screen by enabling direct click-through access to individual bills.

    When reviewing potential duplicate bills, it would be helpful to click on any listed bill to open and inspect it directly. This allows users to quickly identify and resolve issues—such as an incorrect reference number—without having to search via another screen. After making corrections, users should be able to refresh the Duplicate Bill Review screen to confirm whether the duplicate warning has been cleared.

  8. Ability to see Header rows and side columns on all screens when scrolling

    As per Microsoft Office where the top and side ribbons remains static.
    e.g. When you're in the Dashboard and scroll down it would be good if the top ribbon is static. It makes it easier to select another item (business; accounting; contact etc) without having to scroll up.

    The same with Bill Payments; Invoicing; reports etc where the top ribbon and column headers - see attached - would remain static as you scroll down the list.

    The same as when you might have a lot of columns…

  10. Hi Xero. I can log into Xero on my phone using facial recognition, but it's not available on my desktop, why is that? Should be easy to do, right? Current MFA whilst necessary is cumbersome, facial ID is simple and safe.

    Great to hear that you find the Face ID authentication on your app useful, David. This may be something we bring to the desktop over time but isn't in the plans just yet. We'll feel out the interest for this from the idea here and I'll keep you updated of there's any news to share.

  12. When an employee has a postponed autoenrollment the pension doesn't prompt or show up until just before the payment run has been posted. Making any prior payroll reports and payslips incorrect as the pension then tags on at the end. So reports then need to be reprinted and balanced again.

    Can the prompt no show up at the start of the pay run? This will then save any duplicated reports and potential incorrect payments.

    Also the pension filing report viewable before the RTI posting.

    Alternatively, enter the postponement date when posting the pay run in which the employee becomes eligible…

  13. On the Profit and Loss report there is no ability to show percentages, if tracking categories are used as a filter. We want to see COGS as a percentage of trading income, and Net Profit as a percentage of trading income.

  14. It would be useful if payslips could be scheduled to be posted to Xero Me on a date after the payroll is run. Eg you may run the payroll mid-month but want employees to be able to see their payslips on the date the payment is made at the end of the month.

  15. Could you enhance customer accounts by automatically adding outstanding amounts from previous invoices to the next issued invoice as a separate line item called 'outstanding fees'? This ensures customers can pay the full amount due, not just the current invoice.

  17. Xero defaults to full pay period hours for a new employee in the 1st payrun even if the employee start date (already entered into Xero) is part-way through a payrun. This doesn't make sense and is too easy to overpay a new employee in this way, if a manual override has not been done. Ideally, Xero would calculate the expected hours for a salaried employee based on the start date, but another idea would be to flash up a warning before finalising a payrun with employees that have a start date listed within the pay run period.

  18. The highest Xero subscription allows you to make 10 bill payments through Crezco and then you pay a fee per bill. This is a pain, as I now have to approve each 24p fee.

  19. I regularly forget to click "assign" before "OK" when assigning a customer to a billable expense. In the attached screenshot, I've identified an expense, found the customer, and the line item is ticked. It's infuriating to have to remember to click "Assign" before "OK", when the rest of the interface is telling me that everything is all set and saved. While I try to remember to press the wretched "Assign" button first, could you please change the default so that clicking "OK" has the effect of clicking "Assign" automatically? There shouldn't be a separate "Assign" button.

  20. When a new invoice is created, have the reference number auto fill from saved data. Just like you can save what sales account and tax to use for a contact. I have customers that give me a blanket PO for the year and I use it on every invoice I create for them.
