  1. Can the new invoicing template show the address like the old templates used? Now if you go into edit the addresses have disappeared and to check if it is correct you have to click on the contact and fix it in a new tab.
    Also the notes section has removed the time stamps and the email address the invoices get sent to. Can the new invoicing have the same notes and history function as the old one.

    Hey community, just a quick update to let you know the team are currently working on the ability to show the email address that an invoice was sent to, in the History & Notes! We'll pop back to confirm it's been delivered in the next few months 😊

    As Kelly mentioned in our last update, viewing the timestamp of history items on an invoice is a separate idea started across here. And, it looks like a separate idea has been raised for the last part of this original idea New invoicing | View contact address. Feel free to add your vote to those ✅ if they're changes you'd like to see.

  2. Ability to create an invoice template that saves the line items, e.g description, quantity etc
    Instead of having to manually enter the same description for each new invoice created, just save it as a template. Not just as a branding template.

    Hi Morgan, if you have common inventory and services you trade, you could look at saving these as items to your Products and services. When invoicing you'd simply use the Item column to find and select what needed to be included in the invoice, saving you time from having to enter repetitive data. 

    Appreciate there is a little hurdle if you're looking at adding 'description' only lines with new invoicing atm and this is something we're looking into and you can follow updates for this across on this idea

  3. Customer Statements - Would be good if customer statements could include a prepayment balance somewhere on the statement. My client receives a lot of prepayments and would like customers to be able to see at a glance their remaining credit.

  4. In New Invoicing, I need the ability to view the files in the file library prior to attaching them to an invoice, as I can do in Classic Invoicing. This is because when received into the file library, the files aren't always in the same order as they were scanned. I tried attaching a file using New Invoicing and it wasn't the right file and, because I couldn't return the file to the file library, I had to rescan the document back into the file library.   5. In Classic views if there was an Adjustment to Tax it was quite obvious when the Invoice (or Bill) had an adjustment to tax. Compare that to the new Invoice screen where there is nothing showing that this adjustment exists.
    It must be sitting in the database somewhere as its shows in classic invoicing.

    Could this be added back into new invoicing plus could there be a report or filter that could show invoices or bills that have an adjustment to tax?

  6. Whilst creating or editing "normal" bills, archived Products and Services don't appear in the Item pick lists to choose from. However, when creating or editing Repeating Bills ALL the Products and Services appear in the Item pick lists, irrespective of whether they're active or archived.

    With many Products and Services archived (we have to renew them all annually), this makes the resetting of our Repeating Bills very labourious and makes the chances of making errors many times greater, as we can accidently choose archived Products and Services.

    This looks to be a bug in the system that needs rectifying quickly.

  7. Stop "Mark as sent" pop-up for every invoice. When making multiple new invoices, this pop-up occurs for each invoice made, no matter if reminders are turned off. This is new, started April 2024, and XERO support states there is no way to turn this off.

  8. I would love to see a newer updated "look" similar to what Freshbooks or Quickbooks Online has. They have a very streamlined look. I like how they have the tabs on the side that say "invoice" and "expenses" without having to go through the dropdown menus.

  9. We use many xero accounts, and for two of them, when accessing the invoice link, the invoice appears first, followed by a "PayNow" card payment option in the top left corner. However, for the other two accounts, the card payment window appears first without the invoice, which causes inconvenience to customers. (Of course, there is a download option at the bottom right.) Please change the settings to make the invoice appear first.The specialist can't fix this, and the different output seems to be a xero system issue. Please fix it soon.

    Hi Rex, there's an option within Email Settings on each of the sales invoice templates you have set up where you could deselect 'Include action to online invoice and detail summary'. This will strip back the look of the email a bit but this means the pay now, or Review and pay link will stop showing and instead you can just include the link to view the online invoice for your customers. 

    I'd recommend having a try and sending yourself one fro the demo company so you can see how this appears.

  10. Can we please bring back the 'add last items' for an invoice?
    This saved us A LOT of time on regularly customers.
    Not sure why it was removed.

    Thanks for your feedback on new invoicing here. Good to understand the features our users find most handy. The team are looking at many improvements they can make to continue to enhance this experience for our customers. While we can't commit to development as yet, this is something the team are looking into and we'll keep you updated of any progress of this, here. 

  11. I'd like to suggest/request that when loading a line item on an invoice that is a negative, that the quantity is loaded as a negative and not the value. We have created a Delivery Note template that excludes the values (see attached), as a requirement from customers that do not want this info displayed on the d/notes. Obviously then, any negative quantities do not show as such.

  12. New Invoicing - why is there a long Delay sending email?

    Seems with new invoicing it can now take up to 10 minutes for the copy to arrive in my inbox, after selecting "send me a copy".

    Some clients demand a copy to be manually emailed to the local admin at the local office, as well as having xero send direct to their accounting package at head office

  13. There are some new features that I like about the new invoicing, like the ability to immediately a new contact. However this is limited to name and billing address, please add the ability to add email address here too!!!

    Other classic features that need to be included so I can use the new invoicing:
    - the ability to delete the Date and Due Date for a draft invoice. I draft invoices for the entire duration of a project once a contract is signed. The dates are not known at this preliminary stage however it is hugely beneficial to have this…

  15. We would like to see customers contact person's name appearing on the invoice we send. One customer can have different people/contacts for different projects/invoices. Currently we can only pull out the PRIMARY contact's name to the invoice, which means if we would like to add a different name, we have to REMERMBER to edit customer's primary contact to a different person. It is very time consuming and easy to forget too.

  17. I have found you are able to customise currency rates in Purchase Orders, Invoicing and Bills to pay, however you are unable to amend this in quotes.

  18. Backend Autopay Enrollment
    I would like to enter autopay information for each client on the backend instead of them having to set up an account. my clients agree to autopay as part of their service agreement. This should be available on Xero as it is on other platforms.

  20. Import the sales invoices to Xero with the PDFs being attached to the invoice automatically. I understand we can import sales invoices through CSV files but to provide relative documents to customers, we need to attach pdf manually. Would be great if this could be possible. This action can save time and possible error of attaching a wrong pdf.
