Bills - Remove the 'Skip' or 'Allocate Credit' prompts
Remove the 'Skip' or 'Allocate Credit' pop up box when entering invoices.
When entering a number of invoices, if the customer who you are entering an invoice for has a credit on their account, a box appears asking to 'allocate the credit' or 'skip.' By clicking either it takes you back to the enter invoice screen without the option of adding another invoice. This makes it quite time consuming when entering a number of invoices. Is there a way from stopping the 'allocate credit' or 'skip' boxes appearing?

Invoice Payments - Send itemised receipts
Businesses need the ability to provide customers with itemized receipts so customers can process their insurance claims/tax deductions etc.
Xero currently does not allow this - and it is very frustrating.1 voteHey Jacquie, while there's no specific feature for this, you could create an advanced invoice template using DOCX that looks like a combined invoice/receipt. You could then switch themes when the invoice is paid, and resend the invoice. Hope this helps 👍

Ability to charge a credit card on file
It would streamline workflow if there was a feature that allowed us to store a client's credit card on file and when a single invoice is sent out to the client, the business can charge the card on file.
In previous invoicing systems, I was able to "store" a client's credit card on file and then invoice and charge the credit card on file. This is an important feature for my business as it removes the burden off my clients for paying the invoice and reduces the amount of follow up on my end for collecting payment.

AU - Manually edit AU GST on transactions
In Australia, users need to be able to manually edit the amount of GST paid on a transaction. This is required because certain transactions (particularly grocery and pharmacy transactions) have a mixture of items, some of which have GST applied, and some that do not. Unfortunately, the receipts for these types of transactions do not indicate which specific items have incurred GST - they just have a total amount of GST paid on that receipt. As such, it would be great if users could just override the total amount of GST paid for those receipts. See attached for an example…

Project - Feature to use a Task to add cost variations
The ability to add a Project (Revenue) Variation would be a huge help.
If one can add a project (cost) variation using a Task, adding a Revenue variation should be achievable in Xero2 votes -
Projects - See all unpaid bills linked to a Project invoice
When I assign supplier invoices to a project then charge the client those amounts and get paid, at the moment to then go and pay those supplier invoices after being payed by the client I have to note down all the invoice numbers then go into bills to pay and find all the invoices to create a batch payment. it would be helpful to be able to pay the bills attached to the invoice through the project tab or even be able to select an invoice in the bills tab and have it show all the bills attached to that…

Projects: Universal Markup
Products and materials
Other packages provide a means to set a default value to mark up items from their cost value then automatically set the sales value accordingly.
The user would then preset a markup value to be applied across the whole list of items in Products and Services.
Also, a universal feature to adjust for price increases from a pulldown list of the inventory.2 votes -
Quotes - Add sales tax lookup tool
The sales tax lookup tool is really nice to have on invoices. That function should be added to quotes. When I'm trying to quote a customer, that isn't an option (sales tax lookup). I have to select a pre-saved tax rate. Seems like it would be easy to add that.

Go-Cardless - Improve Direct Debit matching process with time stamps and option to remove Direct Debits
The ability to know which Direct debit mandate is the latest one among the many duplicate ones (for eg. have a time stamp or date or any indicator). If a customer's existing DD fails and they try to submit a new mandate but end up submitting it more than once, there should be a way in Xero for us to know which mandate was recently submitted so we can match the form accordingly, therefore avoiding errors with other duplicate submissions.
You'd also like to suggest the ability to delete direct debit forms that are incorrect/no longer required. When the customers…

Projects - Add Project Start Date and the Name of who started it.
Projects- Add date project is started in xero and the name of who started it. This will help us to be able to determine how many days a job took from order date to completion.
We will also be able to tell who started the project if we need further information about it. Something like the 'History and Notes' in the Invoices, where there is a record of who generated the 'Project' and on what date and who makes changes along the way would be perfect. We currently have a project that we are not able to see when it…1 vote -
Bank Reconciliation - Automatic payment allocation to oldest invoices first
If you have multiple invoices for the same client, a feature that allows you the option to automatically apply bank transactions receiving money from the client to the oldest invoices first moving closer to date would be mighty helpful. At the current moment, we have to manually split out each transaction to the invoices when reconciling bank transactions; it stands to reason that if you have a client with multiple invoices and they pay off in chunks, you would want to apply payments to their oldest debt first; having this as a selectable option for a contact / bank rule…

Quotes - View all outstanding/back order items for all of a customer's quotes
When entering a quotation, is it at all possible to do a selection per customer so that we can print out a "back order"list from the quotation. This will enable us to see the customer's name and description for all outstanding orders. Then we dont have to go into each and every quote seperately?

Purchase Orders - Option to move back to Draft status
Purchase orders should be able to go from approved back to draft inside XERO so that integration to other stock systems does not fail when changes are made in 3rd party stock management systems.

Inventory - Airtable Integration
It would be great if there was Inventory integration with Airtable (Airtable.com) to keep proper adjustment of our inventories. It’s a much easier to use system, for small business, that needs less support.

Tax Component Calculation - Xero should be calculating the sum of each tax component rounded for each line item.
Xero calculates tax per line based on the total tax value of all components then rounds this figure. It is later split between tax components.
Xero should be calculating the sum of each tax component rounded for each line item.
Image attached shows how Xero calculates a different value for two equal tax components due to this simplistic method it is using to calculate tax. What is the point in having the ability to set multiple tax components if this is not taken into consideration when calculating the total tax value per item.

Expense Claims - Automatically pay claims, when the customer associated with the project pays their invoice
Expense Claims when assigned to a Customer in Projects should be automatically paid once the Customer pays their invoice. Currently even after they are paid the Expense is still outstanding in 'Bills You Need To Pay' on your dashboard. You then have to manually add payments for these Expenses even though they have already been paid by the assigned customer in Projects. It doesn't make sense.
