  1. Please change the Type of the Invoice Reference field on New Invoicing to Allow for extended text formatting capabilities. Make it the same data type as the Summary Field on Quotes or the Description Field on Invoice Line items. So that the invoice reference field allows and saves Carriage Returns and Tab characters.

    Also to better understand the idea would this be on a client basis or across all clients that are managed by a practice?

  4. In terms of Sales invoices, it would be nice to create custom invoice numbers per customer. That will default once selecting the customer. E.g Amazon AMAXXX. This would be a nice tool within the default contact setting within Xero

  5. When I pull the Bank Batch file to pay Wages, I would like the amount for PAYE and any other Taxes or transferred deductions to be paid out on the day with the Payroll. This removed it from the business immediatley and makes sure payment is always up to date.

  7. The lock date feature is great for preventing back posting as a whole but we would benefit from a lock feature for specific nominal accounts - to prevent colleagues posting to a specific account until dates are unlocked.

    Thanks for your idea, Sarah - We'll get a sense of the interest here.

    Perhaps in the meantime you could look to use the Archive and restore options for an account in your chart of accounts as a way of managing this? 

  8. Better documentation for BankAccountNumber needed.

    The documentation for importing contacts is not clear, specifically how to include banking details.

    First time users, such as myself, could be greatly assisted if the documentation for the BankAccountNumber was described as <bsb><space><account number>.

    I did a large number of documentation and Google searches before it clicked that the BSB and account number are both specified in the BankAccountNumber field. This is not obvious.

  9. Currently, in the Automatic Sequencing setting, the invoice & credit note share the same number sequence. However, for tracking purpose, we prefer to have a separate number sequence for credit notes. Therefore, would like to request an additional 'Next Number' field for credit note, which can come with an option to share or not to share the number sequence with invoice.

  10. Using the dashboard search, we are no longer able to search by account number and must instead use names. Account numbers are used by thousands of businesses across the country and it's one of my most common client questions.

    We can search by account number in the contact screen, please extend this to the dashboard search

  11. When creating subcontractor bills and deducting retention, the CIS includes the retention when calculating the deduction
    For example, XERO should read:
    £250.00
    minus 3% retention (£7.50)
    £242.50
    minus CIS (£48.50)
    = £194.00

    HOWEVER, XERO calculates:
    £250.00
    minus 3% retention (£7.50)
    minus CIS (£50.00) (off the gross amount not the amount after retention deducted)
    = £200.00

    This means that CIS deduction is incorrect.

    There is no way around this currently even though similar issues have been raised since 2019 on Xero discussion threads and no solution has been made.

  12. Xero should provide a way to export the reconciliation list do it offline in excel and them import it back.

    Reason for that is, for people like me that spend long hours in flights (more than 60 hours a month) or people that for some reason will be in an offline environment, can use that time to work on the reconciliation part.

  13. The preview window that pops up when entering new bills is a bit small and you need to almost always zoom in on the pdf to read it.

    It would be great to be able to resize the different page components to make things a bit more readible.

  15. Why can't Xero make editing a timesheet easier by automatically showing bank holidays and any days off that have been entered as holiday?

    If the timesheet showed bank holidays or days where time-off has been allocated in a different colour or with an asterisk by the date then checking timesheets against time-cards would be much more straight forward.

  16. Batch Deposits: allow adding over-payments and pre-payments to a batch deposit from the Invoice > Awaiting Payments tab.

    Currently a bank deposit that includes over-payments or pre-payments will not match recorded batch deposits because over-payments and pre-payments cannot be added to batch deposits. This causes a lot of wasted time communicating with client accounting staff to understand how to reconcile the variances.

  17. According to different awards Time off in Lieu is suppose to expire in 6 months time if not used. Currently you can only bank and take Time off in Lieu. It would be great if Xero could automatically expire hours not used as this is a common practice in many employee Awards.

  19. We would like to be able to capture non-financial (eg head count) and statistical numbers (eg Order Book) in Xero and add it into Xero reports alongside the existing financial information for management reporting
    Currently it seems that accounts that are added automatically appear in the Chart Of Accounts.
    Could another Account Type be created that allows memo accounts to be created outside the CoA?

  20. We have had the unfortunate event of an employee pass away whilst still employed.

    I would like to suggest that Xero make it easier for companies to be able to process a death benefit payment (ETP - type D) within the system rather than having to process this manually and then having to do journal entries for the system to balance correctly. And to then have to process paper copies of PAYG payment summaries to report this to the ATO.
