Requirement to have flexibility in how Long Service Leave is recorded for Victoria for casual employees who have taken multiple periods of parental leave and unpaid leave so small business is able to record number of weeks and entitlement due date and be able to accrue the entitlement of .80 weeks per year of service (and have that show on their pay). At the moment we are unable to show the employee the entitlement in weeks - only hours. The hours paid per week will be variable depending on when they take the leave so having this flexibility in Xero…

    we work in wine retail & record our product &service on xero (we have moved from sage 50 2 years now)
    we cannot use track inventory option as this doest work with our current setup
    please can we simply have like a small box under each inventory saying quantity on hand for e.g 2 or if its negative like - 2 ( as this is really trouble some for me to all the time go to report & manually set my filters all the time with dates,& other details.

    Hi community, while we appreciate some customers may want to rack quantity on hand for untracked items in their products and services this isn't something we have plans for. Tracked Inventory is the feature within Xero that will enable this capability and while we understand this may not work for all customers flows we want to be transparent with you through the idea here.

  3. Ability to allocate expenses to multiple accounts in Xero.

  6. One thing I really like in the new Organisation menu is the search bar. When you click the organisation name, the cursor automatically lands in the search field, so you can start typing straight away. It makes switching between orgs quick and seamless.

    It’d be great to see this same experience in the new Reporting menu. Favouriting reports is useful, but it doesn’t cover every scenario. For power users, being able to click into the Reporting menu and have the cursor automatically placed in a search field - just like in the Organisation menu - would make it much faster…

  8. Currently, employees cannot add allowances to their timesheet if they are setup as fixed amounts (i.e - nightshift allowance where an employee works at night)

    An employee should have the capability of adding the allowances they are entitled to where appropriate. The approver would then review before approving.

    Hi Faadhilah, thanks for raising the idea about introducing e-invoicing specifically for the UAE. With the government’s timelines and deadlines coming up, we understand how important it is for businesses there to have a streamlined way to comply.

    Xero already supports e-invoicing in other regions where this has become a regulatory requirement. While we can’t share any definite plans about when or if this will be available in the UAE just yet, your idea status is currently Gaining support. This status means the community team has reviewed it, and now it’s open for votes and comments from users like you.

    Getting more votes and detailed feedback from the community helps bring attention to the demand and shows the product team where to focus next. If you haven’t already, adding more context about how e-invoicing would affect your business day to day would be really valuable. The more insights the team…

  12. This is a known issue that needs to be voted on to be prioritized.

    The Auto Sales Tax feature in Xero (from Avalara) disallows the ability to use Find and Recode. This is a huge limitation that will have massive repercussions as time goes on. Please fix this promptly.

  13. we have recently set up our business so everyone is on xero, we would like people to be able to view profitability in projects, but not have the admin user.
    Giving people admin user allows them too much access, but we want them to be able to see profitability on the projects so they can keep track.
    is there a way we can give them access, without upgrading their user role??

    Hey Rebecca, thanks for your engagement and for sharing this detailed suggestion about user permissions in Xero Projects.

    We've reviewed your idea to allow users to view project profitability without needing the full admin user role, and it can now gain support from other community members. We understand the need for team members to keep track of a project's performance, and why granting full admin access isn't always suitable.

  14. In NZ we are required by law to keep 7 years of records for the IRD (tax department). I make a point of destroying old financial records that are older than 7 years. Xero doesn't have a mechanism to purge old data. I see in my Xero I full record including invoices, supplier invoices and financial data back to Jan 2014.

    I would like to see a system whereby old data was completely wiped, and summary starting figures created for the purged data period, say as at the start of each tax year, for me 1 April 2018 so that…

    Appreciate why you'd like to remove older data from your org after a long period, Steven. Generally we don't want to be touching our customers data, and this isn't something we have plans for implementing. However, we'll get a sense of the interest from others in this here, for our product teams to consider.

    Right now, if you'd like to remove older data there are a couple of options;

    • You could start a new organisation from the date you'd like to keep records from, setting up the organisation with conversion balances from that date. You could also export and import information from the old org to the new one.
    • Change the conversion balances in your existing org and remove older data prior to this date
  15. It will be great to have meaningful payroll reports. E.g., the leave overview is a blunt tool, as it shows all employees, including those who have left. The same applies to the Auto Enrolment Summary Report - it is a basic on-screen report with no filters, etc. And, yes, includes historical employees. Where there are filters, these overlook some choices which should be present. E.g., wage type, which payroll runs are they- monthly, quarterly, weekly, etc

    Hi community, this idea has been created from feedback in this initial idea. While we are interested to get a better pulse on the interest in this, we want to front foot that we don't have any plans for this change.

    Switching from landscape to portrait was made based on a lot of feedback and testing, so we'd want to see a fair amount of support through the idea here to consider making another change.

  17. When adding a new contcat from within an invoice, it would be useful to be able to add the contact first/last name. Currently you can only add the business name, email, phone number and addresses. That means unless you open up the new contact in a separate page to add in the contact first/last name (which is time consuming), then when the invoice is completed the email cant be addressed to the person's name. Would be much simpler to have first/last name field within the new contact section of the invoice.

  18. Batch download of Validated eInvocie from Malaysia LDHN

    This idea is related to eInvoice from Malaysia LHDN, send individual invoice section.

    Once sending the email to MyInvois@invoi.ci, and after validated, the e-invoice will be added to file attachment.

    There is currently no option to be able to batch download these multiple eInvoice that is validated in the file attachment section.

  20. When an account is reconciled and the report is created for the period, it would be nice if there was a little summary alert for the end date of the most recent report on the dashboard tile (i.e. reconciled up to and including 28 Feb 2025). This would help to make VERY clear immediately which accounts are reconciled to which date and help to plan which accounts need work or need a report and which are done for the reporting period you are working on.
