User Role - Access to Products & Services (Inventory) and Purchases/Sales only
Ability to allow individual access to inventory(products & services) and sales in Xero.
Purpose: Enable ability to view different sets of information within an org.
Thanks for all your input and sharing how we can improve Xero's user roles to cater for the needs of your business and staff you'd like to provide this access for.
As you may have seen in other ideas we've been conducting some research into user roles across all of Xero. As a step on from this, one of our teams are beginning a deeper dive into solving this idea here and enabling more roles access to Products & services (Inventory) in Xero.
While this may take sometime to accomplish we wanted to provide an update to you all interested in this, and we'll keep you informed of further progress as the team begin looking into it.

My client is looking at changing software at this point as they cannot comprehend how such a 'glitch' can happen. Clearly an issue with software developers not understanding needs and focusing on more '****' add ons!

Happy New Year Xero team! Please can we make this year the year you are able to separate user permissions which will prevent accounts admin from seeing full bank details and critical financial information ?
Thank you, in anticipation!

To compliance with internal control, the segregation function is critical.

I've contacted XERO in the past about this feature but as of yet nothing, which I find bizarre as for me this is an essential requirement of any accounts package.
I am also looking at alternative providers now as I don't feel that we're being heard.

We've set up to use Xero to keep a close track on our stock levels. All set up to run and then discovered that the staff managing the stock can't have access to Products and Services without also having access to all the financials. It doesn't work with them having access to financials as they don't know how to read them and in the past have shown they don't understand them (mis-read them). Problem is is that they can't fulfil their job role without access to Products and Services. Please can something urgently be done to add a feature where access to Products and Services is available without access to all the bank details and financials?

I second Jonathan's sentiments.
Having to manage products myself, when I pay somebody to do that job is not only a waste of my time, but it also impacts my manager's sense of ownership in her role. -

Please we need this for our organisation

Xero please explain why such a simple request that staff do not see the business' financials, but can still access products & services not yet be implemented????
We are your customers & paying your wages & yet even after so many of your loyal customers have written in asking for this to be changed you are yet to do anything!
Why??
PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!We are all so very busy & yet we have taken the time to submit our frustration in having something so very simple actioned!
This small request in providing our employees access to products & services within the Xero system to update inventory cannot be action within the employees seeing their employer's financials! This creates additional workload on employers who are paying the staff to complete such a basic task!WAKE UP XERO MANAGEMENT OR YOUR CUSTOMERS WILL GO ELSEWHERE!!!

This should be a standard user access in Xero. We have a storeman that maintains products and services and can see bank info through the accounting tab even though I have hidden everything from the dashboard.
This needs to be fixed asap!! -

It feels like a basic requirement to have more micro control over what users can access in the system.
I mean, we have "Invoice Only" user access, so why not this?
Hopefully this is an upcoming feature. -

Come on xero, this is basic simple stuff
Please listen to your customers for a change and implement -

Why is this being ignored? Please at least acknowledge that you are looking into it!

From the comments below, you need to get this sorted ASAP.

The above is a great suggestion but has not be actioned. I am in a similar position where the Warehouse Manager cannot access the purchases/products services without having access to the financial information of the company.
Please can this be organised

We need the team member who orders products to be able to update purchase and sell price information, but she does not need access to the bank account or accounting functions. Hence we only want her to have Invoice Only (Purchases) access with access to the Products and Services module.

I see inventory product control seperate to finances, I really think that's a change that needs to be made. We like Xero but in doing it the way it is currently set means that my entire company can see the finances regardless of role. Ordering, warehouse, inventory management, invoicing etc...
The roles Xero offer don't really fit what the program can do. -

I absolutely need this feature. I need the staff I have employed to be able to do the job I employed them for else I may as well have not employed them!

It's crazy that viewing products and services and their associated transactions on a read-only basis is excluded from read-only users.
