Absolutely agree with the comments here. I am head of finance for our global company, yet I have to regularly go in and run an aged receivables report for our accounts receivable person, simply because we don't want to give access to sensitive bank transactions data. Surely an AR role should have access to invoices and AR reports; likewise, an AP role should have access to bills and AP reports)?

Crazy that it's not there already.

This is a step in the right direction but not the complete solution by a long way. My only complaint with XERO is user permissions.
I need a user to have access to products and services which is crucial for them to fulfil the job role. They also requires access to quotes and invoices.
In order to provide the access to the above I need to provide them with full access which also gives access to bank statements which is a crazy situation.

We are currently looking for another package due to this major limitation which is a real shame.

Simple things Xero are missing

We usually have the problem that our clients want to give their employees access to a invoicing only/bills only option. They like that they are not able to view the bank then. The payments can be captured below the bills and invoices, so that is not a problem. But a debtor department needs to be able to print the aged receivables to enable them to follow up on outstanding balances. I know they can view balances at the Send Statements function, but the aged receivables report is more efficient. So if you can make that if you have debtor/invoice rights to be able to view debtor related reports and if you have creditor/bills rights to be able to view creditor related reports, that will be awesome. I vote for this one.

This is so needed please add asap to your development need - The comments show it is becoming a function that more and more peeps need, especially given the growth of those small/micro Business xero was originally designed for.

We have a debt collector that needs access to the reports as well. Will really help to get this feature!

Running appropriate (AP/AR) reports and seeing more than just the outstanding invoices is very important to be able to safely delegate roles to junior level positions.

So important, Xero was initially designed for small businesses but for years now that it is being used by larger businesses this is an absolutely critical function. How is a business supposed to grow if the owner has to do every little thing unless they give confidential access to staff? Run ATB reports, and allocate payments, these are admin functions, not senior management!! Have started to review other systems now.

We also really need it I now have to print these reports myself - would be must easier if the creditors/debtors clerk/controller can print them themselves to recon? They cannot have access to confidential info?

We still require this as well. There is no other option bar myself to run these reports we require but it's not ideal due to me removing myself from the business.
If we could get this up & running, it would be a great contribution to my business and bookkeepers. Thanks

Sorry XERO, but this needs to be resolved. I have moved from SAGE to XERO and I am now beginning to think that this was a big mistake.
I love the software, but as other users have commented, USER access is either all or nothing. This is not the real world and as a result we have need to change staff job roles.
I have an employee who raises invoices, quotes, orders and stock. For me to giving the user access to products and services means also giving them access to our bank accounts.
This is beyond crazy and needs to be addressed by XERO.

I am asked on a regular basis if I would recommend XERO to other customers and at the moment my answer has to be unequivocally NO which is a shame as everything else about the software is excellent.

We need accounts clerks to be able to run Aged Payables and Receivables!

Agree there should be more flexibility in granting the invoice-only roles view access to reports (such as aged receivables and profit/loss, balance sheet).

We really need more ability to customize each users access. No business owner wants all their staff to be able to see their banking details. However we need them to access some reports so they can do their job.
