Payroll: Employees - Upload/attach files in notes section
Xero - in employee section and only those with payroll admin rights can upload notes/documents such as medical certificates/TFN forms/super choice forms etc in the notes section to be able to track this better and with relevant payruns as well
Hi everyone, we thoroughly appreciate all the interest and detail of where and why you'd like to attach files to employees in payroll.
As many will be aware, the team have been making a lot of changes across Payroll to accompany local regulation & compliance such as STP phase2.
With much of this work still on-going, we want to be open that there are no plans at present for this development. It is top of mind for the team, and will be reconsidered when resource becomes more available however we wanted to share and set expectation for the near term with you all, here.

I don't understand how such a request has not been actioned upon - all other payroll providers allow you to store employee documents as standard. Please make this happen!

This is an essential feature for me. I have many foreign staff who are on visas. I need to keep a copy of this with their file. Also RSA & super forms. When I was last audited by Fair Work I had to go back and find visas from 4 years ago because they could not be saved in the files. This really should be a feature. All the invoices, bills have the option but not the employees. Why????

I think the ability to attach documents would be good, however I would be concerned about the security aspects of having additional personal information included in the Xero file and consent from employees potentially being an issue. I for one would not consent to having a copy of my drivers license, or any other identification document which contains information that my employer doesn't need, saved in my employer's cloud accounting file.

This really needs to happen. Important things like copies of Drivers Licences etc for delivery drivers. Forms. Requests from staff when changing bank accounts etc. Please Please Please

This would be such a good feature -to add in P45 new starter checklist documents or any tax notifications from HMRC
It would be great to be able to store these documents in one place on Xero rather than on my desktop -
It should be quite an easy addition as this function is available for contacts/invoices -

It would be great to have a function whereby we can attach a document (say, a copy of a pdf showing pay rates used as extracted from the award or an employment contract) to an individual employees record in xero.

I need to be able to add shots of the employees forms, and super details. So I can reference them back 3 months later when I lodge the super I cannot find them.

It would be extremly beneficial to save employee documents in files so clients can see what their advisors have done or vise versa. It will prevent advisors always having to chase up documentation.
An even better option have an employee detail form, tax dec form and super form in the employee me up so employees can complete electronically and automatically saves to employee card.

Excellent idea. Centralises the paperwork, easy to find and with daily authentication for Xero required, potentially makes the data safer than being stored in places like Sharepoint. Also being able to store employment contracts, training certificates etc would be useful.

The ability to add secure documents to an employee record in the NOTES section in the payroll section in Xero.
Salary emails which a client has sent in, P45 records etc

We use time clocks that need to be saved as evidence of pay. At the moment I'm required to save on our network. It's essential that we can upload various important documents accordingly.

we would really like to be able to attach "Reminders" for pension (changes dependent of age), for foreing employees (to complay with legislation and re-check their status of right to work).... or something as simple as aniversaries/birthdays

Uploading of employee contracts etc would be extremely beneficial.
I use the notes but you cant edit a note so if you make a mistake and press save you cant go back and edit. It would be good if you could edit with a history of changes (similar to the other pages in xero).
