It would be hard to overstate how beneficial and helpful this would be for users.
It keeps all their stuff together and accessible in Xero - which is how you got us excited about the rest of the app in the first place.This saves us having to have external solution providers or unwieldy off-line or paper based systems, and it keeps us locked into the Xero eco-system.
The Notes section has nothing to do with STP2 and this could have been easily resolved by now given Xero's expertise and online digital storage.
The delay is a lost opportunity - ignoring your higher value (payroll) customers in favour of third-party app connectors...

Please give us the ability to attach related documents to payruns/payslips. All the information needs to be in one place.

Please add a feature to attach files to an employee'e employment tab. Similar to how you can attach receipts to transactions. It would make filing & storing onboarding forms convienient.

1) option to split employees into groups or teams
2) option to give a team member access to approve leave and expenses for rest of team but NOT access to other teams expenses. -

2 points to improve the product IMHO....
Ability to save a file (copy of P45 e.g.) to an employee record.
Also ability to click to next record while in the employee view would be helpful. -

For NZ payroll too, should be able to attach contractor's bills to their payrun so all the information is in one place (contractors that have withholding tax deductions)

This would have been an excellent feature. MYOB as employee onboarding. why can't Xero has similar feature. Also ability to set reminder for employee such as their anniversary etc would be another great feature to have.

Wow. So many people wanting this feature. Kelly's response now over 1 year old. It is disappointing and frustrating that we have seen big price increases for Xero and stuff that we want ignored. No plans and top of mind? Please...I was looking for this and have ended up using a partner product call HR partner that is costing us $495 per month. Now I am looking around at alternatives to Xero and HR Partner.

As much as I recommend Xero to people, it is very disappointing that 12mths down the track since I commented we need to be able to add documents to an employee's file, I'm still having to print out paper and file away employee correspondence.
In this digital day and age! This really should be a priority, not on the backburner. -

In the interests of Employee confidentiality payroll associated documentation (source documents) should be filed in the individual Card File under Payroll. Given that the response from Xero representative Kelly Munro was 2nd March 2023 (more than 12 months ago) and so many Xero users are requesting this option, perhaps it is one item that Xero needs to expediate to the the important/ action now list.

AU payroll - add employee documents to employee record
When adding leave/updating/creating an employee record it would be great to be able to upload documents relating to that, in the same way we can add invoices to sales/purchases records.

I would like to add my voice to this request.
It would be so useful to be able add relevant employment and statutory documents to an employee record, such starter forms, employment contracts, doctors fit notes etc. -
