Invoicing - Remove 'Powered by Xero' in Footer of emails
Remove 'Powered by Xero' Advertisement on the footer invoice emails (only recently added)
Hi everyone, appreciate this topic has picked up momentum in the last couple of months since “Powered by Xero” was first introduced to our invoice emails.
Our product team have been working through the next iteration of the invoice email. They’ve reviewed feedback about this email from multiple sources and are planning some changes to address some of the concerns, in particular that the purpose of this feature is for marketing and advertising purposes. This feature was developed, designed and implemented will the sole intention of increasing trust with the invoice emails we generate inside the Xero platform. The data after delivering this has shown that it does just that, increasing engagement with your invoice emails and ultimately getting you, our customers, paid faster.
Therefore the “Powered by Xero” footer will remain in place, however we will be reducing its size, better integrating it into a redesigned email experience and removing the hyperlink to Xero.com.
This new email experience is focussed on uplifting our invoice experience to meet expectations from you and your customers to provide a professional, informative and modern experience. This new experience will be coming to New Invoicing first and then to our other invoicing tools like Reminders in the coming weeks.

I'm also very disappointed at how unprofessional it is for Xero to use our emails to advertise themselves while we are paying a subscription fee.

This logo should be an optional to turn on and off. We are paying to use your service not to advertise it for you.
I have had numerous clients comment on how unprofessional it is. Please stop wasting time implementing features like this when there are so many other things you could have spent the development time on! Really disappointing.

Maybe we should be charging XERO for advertising space ?
Unfortunately XERO have lost there focus and the only motivation now is revenue and not customer satisfaction or the product. What a shame.

We have noticed in our email signatures there is now a footer 'Powered by Xero'. There appears to be no way to turn this off in settings however we would like this removed as soon as possible please. It is very unprofessional.

I never agreed to have your logo attached to the bottom of MY invoices. Please remove, this is so unprofessional.
The Xero logo is bigger than my logo and takes up a large section of the page... that is totally unacceptable. I have to pay to advertise my business elsewhere, you should be paying me to advertise with my business. -

Confused why for years the 'Powered by Xero' didn't appear on emails and then without advance warning it has suddenly reappeared without the option to remove. Why is this option not available for a paid subscription? Please sort ASAP.

Please enable this. I love Xero, but the Xero logo is distracting - it dilutes the branding of my invoice emails.

I was too late raising this with support, I've received this:
"The 'Powered by Xero' footer on emails was previously released as a trial so some customer could opt out.
However, this has now been fully released to all organisations so it is not currently possible to remove it.
We recommend voting and adding your thoughts to our products ideas page. This is where our product team review your ideas for possible future features in Xero."
They've made it live and permanent despite all the feedback here. This isn't the first time they've ignored their customer's feedback on unnecessary changes. I doubt it will be the last.

I just had to raise a case with support as there didn't appear to be a way to remove in Xero - support responded with a threat of opting me out of upcoming invoice features - if they are anything like this so-called 'feature' then that's fine. I'm really angry about the fact that they did this, AND that this was their response, particularly because it was drawn to my attention by a customer of mine... Blatant bullying, and they've intentionally designed this to be difficult to remove knowing that many won't bother with it. Disgraceful. What are some of the alternative products other than Quickbooks people are looking into? Seriously considering jumping ship. My company is definitely not 'Powered by Xero'. I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to subscribe to a platform that advertises to customers without their knowledge. This is simply terrible.

Please remove! Our clientele is not interested in advertising of any sort. I prefer Xero because it is minimal, elegant and efficient. "Powered by Xero" is a terrible cheap way to advertise without our consent.

I add my name to the chorus of disenchantment - I could understand this on a free tier subscription but on a premium product this is a really poor look to customers & suppliers and is unacceptable.
Not to seem overly dramatic but it is details like this that make me think it's time for an effective competitor to break up Xero's market share.

Speechless! I can only agree with the comments here. Please remove.

How do I raise a case to “opt out” of something I never opted for, absolute joke I have to spend my time chasing something I never wanted and never will !

RE Livia's comments below...
Translated as "allow our free & cheap looking product advertising or don't get product improvements that YOU are paying a subscription service for"
That's just straight out blackmail!!!
UNBELIEVABLE

Update for those setting up a case and requesting Opt Out on this feature. Reply from Xero to our request to Opt Out....
"Our Product team are able to remove this feature however they have advised that if this feature is removed from your organisation, you will not receive any invoice email improvements for the next 3-6 months."
Not an issue for us as we are migrating across to a new business system that supports invoicing to customers but without proper context (ie is it a technical limitation), looks like the poor form continues....

update people...had a call from Xero this morning saying due to feedback you can now 'Opt out' of this feature.
So...if you don't get a call, bang loudly, set up a Case and request to Opt Out...
For Xero peeps and those still reading, I'm still staggered Xero are going to force on those not proactive enough or too busy to follow up...

Seriously Xero what's with powered by xero on all emails now . Like you need extra advertising, it's the small business that are paying you for a service and your using us to advertise your product. Like you can't work out that someone is using xero. Please let us remove this from out emails as a preference.

Haha! The arrogance!!! It does not add legitimacy any more that it would if a scammer would use a bank logo with a link to a rogue website. I have already added a disclaimer to all the email templates and will avoid with a passion sending emails from Xero! Also waiting for recommendations of alternatives to Xero, please.
We're always looking for ways to improve, so we appreciate the time you have taken to provide this feedback. We've recorded your feedback for our Product team to review.
Currently, it is not possible to remove the 'Powered By Xero' footer from your invoice emails.
The recent 'Powered By Xero' footer to our emails aims to improve the payer experience by giving confidence to your potential payers that your emailed invoices are legitimate. This is a step our Product team has decided to take to promote cyber security for your payers and our customers.
Kind regards
Maia

For this reason alone, Xero has to be the most unprofessional outfit I have dealt with! Not only do they sneak in advertising into paid-for content (without advance notice or method of opting out) but they make it look crass and sloppy. With the "powered by Xero" on the bottom of the emails but not even centred, and disproportionate compared to the rest of the content and layout, they make themselves look totally ridiculous. Would you want to consider signing up for a service that got advertised to you on an invoice (and let's face it, who likes receiving invoices???)? Would you even consider following the link to a service that will only use you to spread itself like a virus to your clients, just like it has just done with you? I don't think sooooooo..... Who on earth runs their marketing and development departments? Perhaps they need to spend some of these price increases they have been throwing at us time after time, on some quality development to fix their slow and clumsy system, rather than use us as virus-carriers.

Totally agree with everyone's comments on here! I have only just found this link after I emailed support to complain! I am not in a milliton years endorsing Xero (having complained many times about major features missing in a multi-currency system, for example and not been listened to), so will be adding my own disclaimer soon enough if they don't remove their blatant advertising. Please, could everyone comment with a quick enough tool to migrate to, which supports multi-currency accounts (and actually does it, unlike Xero)? Quick books? I am ready to take the plunge unless they go back on their outrageous move!
