It is ridiculous that in this day and age Xero does not have this feature built in as standard, and maybe switchable in settings. I am a small business. We only turn over 1.5Mil a year. But currently I pay Wages and the feed goes to IRD. As I want to make payments of PAYE immediately I am forced to go into ID and set up a Direct Debit so that they take the funds that night. I know this is a work around that makes PAYE payment with Wages paid work, but computer systems are meant to save us time, not create more jobs for us to do, so that system short comings are adequately covered.

Much needed

This feature should be an essential edition to payroll, more and more of our clients are wanting to use this feature to enable better management of cashflow. Other payroll systems we use have this feature. At the very least have a total of taxes to pay for each payrun rather than having to manually calculate.

Would be great if, at the end of the month, Xero automatically generated an invoice for PAYE owed to the IRD

This is a critical update which I think is very important as it helps to be on top of compliance and also have that routine in place and manage cash flow more effectively. With the addition of a ticking option you can enable the payment if you would like to pay IRD and if in some months money is tight, you can untick and pay the staff and pay IRD later. However best practice would be to have it enabled as this will give you more options to plan ahead.

Hi, I think this is a necessity to eliminate a manual payment to IRD. I have clients for whom I setup a repeating bill to IRD and when I pay the employees, I load the PAYE at the same time. Come on Xero - can you get this done for us?
There are a lot of fancy things that are getting done, but some of the basic things are not - and this is one of them that is needed to stop putting people to work!

Adding Value! Saving time and stress of wages! Great Idea!

Add in bank transaction mediation functionality into Xero mainly for Payroll. Enable clients to pay both their employees and Inland Revenue automatically from Xero when posting a pay run. Instead of manually having to pay the employees through bulk pay files and IRD through manual transactions, connect Xero and do it from there automatically. Click "Pay Now" and its all done for you.

When I pull the Bank Batch file to pay Wages, I would like the amount for PAYE and any other Taxes or transferred deductions to be paid out on the day with the Payroll. This removed it from the business immediatley and makes sure payment is always up to date.

It would be great if Xero could integrate payments for statutory deductions so payments could be made direct through the one payment batch instead of having to manually load individual payments. Other payroll software can do this so I'm sure Xero could to.

When will we be able to link IRD statutory deductions to the employee and be able to add a reference number etc so the arrears % amount can be paid direct to IRD at the same time as wages are paid. At the moment we have to make manual payments to IRD for each employee with an arrears notice and keep manual records. It would be great for Xero to upgrade this aspect and give us the same option that other payroll systems have given us.

Integrate the payments for statutory deductions for employees included in payruns into the payment file so the payments can be made through the payroll batch. I think this is what some other payroll software do.

It would also help a lot of people with their cashflow.
