Invoices - Generate email delivery receipt
When sending an email from an email client, you have the ability to ask for a delivery receipt - for notification when the email arrives at the destination server. I'd like the same ability when I send an invoice by email from Xero.
Currently, in order to get an email delivery receipt, I have to send the invoice to myself via Xero (so that I have the links in the email correct) and then forward using an email client to the customer. Obviously, from an audit trail point of view, this is suboptimal.

VAT excel export - Date column should default to date format
Dates should default to date format when exporting the VAT return to excel.
Currently when exporting the VAT return to excel that dates automatically default to either text or general format. This means you can't filter the dates by oldest to newest as the filter selection defaults to A-Z.
Changing the date to date format via format cells does not fix the issue. The only way I have found is to manually update the dates using the =DATEVALUE(x) formula and paste these new values over the old ones. This can be very tedious when working with a lot of late…

Reporting - Report on the Quotes converted to Invoices
To have a report which shows the conversion date of a quote to sales invoice, i.e. showing the conversion date, quote number and sales invoice number.

Tracking categories by month
I think it would be useful to update the 'Tracking Summary report' and make it possible to open it by month
2 votesHi Melanie, would be good to slightly understand your idea here better - when you say you'd like to update the Tracking Summary report by month, would this be to add comparative columns or just run the report for a month date range?
The Blank report might also be useful here where you can add Tracking columns with the Layout editor and set up the report in the style you're after. Once all set up you could then save the report as Custom to easily access this when you like.

Contacts - Send email confirmation when Contact Details updated
We often change email, name, address and recipients for the contacts we have in Xero. We always send an email from outlook to confirm, it would be REALLY useful if we could send an email from Contacts in Xero to confirm new contact details. Dear Customer, thank you for advising us your new contact details, this is what we have in our system now.. please check and come back to us if you would like to make further changes.. etc something like that.

Recipient Created Tax Invoice - Calculate withholding tax and GST
I am a New Zealand sole trader and contractor for a company. I submit a timesheet, and they generate a IRD approved Buyer Created Invoice. They send me my payment with GST added, and witholding tax deducted.
There is no accurate way to extract the witholding tax from the final amount deposited to my account.

But because Xero doesn't hold a high enough number of decimal places in the percentage field, the amounts are inaccurate by some cents each time. Which over the course of a year increases to a reasonable error.

Packing slip - Option to add phone number and email address
Please add customer email and customer phone to the Standard Xero Invoice Template Packing Slip. It can just go below the main address.

Reporting - Show filters applied
When a report filter is selected, the filter should be displayed on the report that is displayed/printed. Eg if you use employee groups and you filter a payroll report by said group, the printed report should display the filter chosen

Reconciliation - Show default account for contact when reconciling
While in the reconcile screen, when I type in who and it pulls up my contact, I would like it to automatically default to the gl acct that I already have on the Contact card. I have to click on details then go to the gl box click on it to see what the gl acct is. Sometimes lets say Costco it could either by Office Supplies or Auto Expense(gas). So when I type up the Costco contact I would like to see what gl acct it is going to and if I need to change it to Auto Expense…

Intercompany Account Bank Feed
There should be an ability to set up an intercompany account using the bank feed function between businesses that are 'connected'. This would save countless hours manually journalling transactions. You should be able to create a transaction in the bank feed, or mark an invoice as paid by the intercompany account and the corresponding transaction should show on the respective other company.

Quotes- Ability to approve quotes
Hi there,
Most clients cannot accept 'DRAFT' quotes, and not all clients like to be emailed through Xero (how you turn it non-DRAFT currently).
Please can you add the same functionality as an invoice where you can accept, save and export it so we can email non-DRAFT quotes to clients and keep communication on our systems/in the format they like?

Please could we get more available category codes.

Batch Payments - Add notes
Include a notes function on the Batch Payment view, which would enable a note to be made next to any payment line item which might need an explanation for when the payment batch needs to be reviewed by a manager before being captured in the bank.

Bank Rules - Ability to set Date as a criteria
It would be great to have the date of bank transactions as a criteria field when creating a rule. When we are paid by the ESFA, the amounts we receive at the beginning of the month have a different nominal to those received later in the month. In Sage we could set a rule as 'between 2 dates'
1 voteHi Sarah, when a bank rule is applied it'll use the date of the statement line to apply to the transaction it creates so you don't need to set this within the rule itself. Or are you saying you'd like to set the date of the transaction that's going to be created when the bank rule is applied?

Audit Trail Report
We desperately need an audit trail report available for advisors.
I think it would be sufficient to have the below added to the account transactions report style (but named as Audit Trail):
1 - the ability to include an 'edited date' column
2 - the ability to include a 'notes' column
3 - a tick box to show/hide audit trail history (so voids would show as separate creation and void lines netting off, not just removal of the original transaction)

Customer Statement - View running balance
Hi,
Can I please request that on all customer statements there is a running balance on the side, so that it's easy to add up?
25 votesHI team, appreciate not directly within the Customer statement at present and being open we don't have immediate change planned for adding this to the customer statement. However, for the time being you could look to run the Customer Invoice Activity report which has a few more options for the columns and detail shown.
Once you've set up as you like you could save as Custom to make this readily available in your org and export to share externally with a customer/client.

Quotes - Remove auto highlighting in cells
When using quotes. When you go to a line in the description that already has information in it to change it or amend something, it highlights everything in blue and when you go to type/add/remove something, even if you think you have the cursor in the right place, everything that is in there disappears and you have to start again. This is very frustrating when there was a lot of information in there. you have to make sure you double or triple click it till the blue highlighting goes away before you type. it is very time consuming.
