Reporting - Add Graphs and Pie Charts in Management Accounts for KPI
Add Graphs and Pie Charts of KPI's to the Management Accounts report as some client prefer picture diagrams.
26 votesAppreciate your feedback around how more visuals in reporting would aid when presenting business information to stakeholders.
Though not direct within the Management report - Xero Analytics provides visual tools to assess and get insight into your business with Short term cash flows and Business Snapshot.
Alongside this, our reporting team have also started release of a graph in the 'Expenses by Contact report' - It's available if you're running a US organisation atm, and will be with other regions soon

Bank Reconciliation Report - Show how a statement line was deleted
The current Statement Exceptions report in the Bank Reconciliation report pack doesn't differentiate between statement lines that were deleted individually and statement lines that were deleted as part of removed an entire statement. Both are listed as Deleted (Manually).
It would be helpful if the report marked these types of deletions differently since only individually deleted statement lines still appear on the Bank statements tab/can be restored.

Xero expenses - Ability to export submitted expenses
Currently expense reports are not fit for purpose. You can't even order non-approved expenses by date or export them.
You need to be able to order unapproved expenses by date and by project/customer.
You need to be able to add description and project/customer information into the expense claims report.
Xero is **** at expense management frankly and with a few minor changes could be so much better. I should get a refund on my subscription for the wasted time.
10 votesSorry to hear your're not satisfied with Xero Expenses, Jeremy. Appreciate there are a few things that you've noted that you feel could enhance your experience when using expenses.
We do try to keep one idea per thread to make it simple for community to understand what they're adding their support and to help share this back with our product teams. I've adjusted the title of your idea here to reflect exporting expenses. We have an idea for changing the sort order here, and you're welcome to start new ideas for any other points you've shared too.

General ledger details - Add Posted date and Posted by columns
I was requesting for "Account Type" and "Source" as options that can be added to "Journal" report.
Staff replied these options are available in "General Ledger Details" report and "Journal ID" is also available in "General Ledger Details" report now.
However, the "General Ledger Details" report does not have accounting entries posting date and who was it posted by.
Please add (1) "Account Type" and "Source" to "Journal" report, or (2) "Posted Date" and "Posted By" to "General Ledger Details" report.5 votes -
Reports - Coloured text for variances on new reports
Prior to the new reports we were able to select different colours for budget variances on our Xero reports. Green for on budget or better than budget and red for below budget.
This was immensely useful when going through reports in monthly management meetings as it meant over or under performance in any line was easily recognisable.
Please can you bring this simple feature back!

Xero Expenses - Option to assign VAT rates to employees
Xero Expenses - Limit the selection of VAT rates available for employees to select (we have a client who has domestic reverse charge, reverse charge and other VAT rates that the employees will never need to select and therefore it would be better to reduce the available list for them to select from otherwise they are more likely to select the wrong rate)

Reporting - Accept 2 decimal places in Budget Manager
Modify the Budget Manager so that it accepts 2 decimal places and does not round to the nearest full dollar.
Rounding all figures means that the Net Profit amount is incorrect which means the budgets are incorrect.
30 votesThanks for your interest and input on this idea, everyone. Being upfront this isn't something we have planned at this time but we'll continue to monitor the votes and feedback coming through and will be sure to let you know if there's any change to this, here.

Payable Invoice Detail report - add totals/subtotals for original currency columns
The old Supplier Invoice Report which is due to be turned off in July displayed the totals for the gross and outstanding balance columns in the original currency. This doesn't appear to be possible in the new version of the report, even when it is grouped or filtered by original currency so that items with the same currency appear together.
Can this be added before July please, or failing that, keep the old version of the report in place until it has been done?
4 votesHey all, just popping in with a quick status change!
Whilst we have added in a column for original currency, it's not possible to view subtotals for this column.
Understand that there's some interest from the community in this feature, so we're re-opening this idea to continue to collect feedback 😊

Invoices - Ability to apply a vendor credit note to a customer invoice
Ability to apply a vendor credit note to a customer invoice. Currently need to code to a clearing account than go to the customer invoice and apply to the same clearing account to clear. Would be nice to have the ability to apply directly to the customer invoice.

Bank Feeds - Automatic feed for BNZ, rather than having to update online
BNZ do not provide receivers with online access to accounts. Xero only allow BNZ bank feeds to be updated online. Receiving timely access to transactions is very important but BNZ & Xero have decided to cease this feature and not provide a solution for all customers.

Account Transactions - Option to archive old transactions
Archive bank transactions so you can only see for example, from the start of that financial year or the start of the year you are in. Currently we can see all transactions from when we started to use XERO in 2021.

Reporting - Set default date columns from oldest to most recent
A button you can click to reverse the order of the columns in Reporting
Typically the reports show the month in question closest to the account descriptions and then the prior months in columns to the right but we'd like to look at our current year starting with the earliest month in the column next to the account descriptions and the remainder of the year in columns to the right. This is particularly useful when building out projected cashflows.17 votesYou can re-order the columns of your report with the layout editor, Robbie. 🙂
Once you've got the report set up as you like you can Save as Custom to easily access the report with this layout.
If you're like to make this the default layout there is also an option for this - see our help here & here

VAT Return - Next and Previous when reviewing invoices
When reviewing a VAT return documents, the ability to see the invoice without having to go in to bills to pay to find the invoice and review it was great. How about adding a next and previous button to the top of the screen when you left click on an invoice within the VAT return?
At the moment we have to click the x in the top right corner and then left click on the next invoice to review. when review large VAT return with many transactions you can get lost and end up clicking in to an invoice you…

Contacts - merge check before importing
I would suggest to about the Contacts function. Currently, the system automatically merge the contact information with the same name first and last name when importing the contacts. It's very common that customers have same first name and last name. I think it's better for Xero to have diagnostic to ask if the contacts imported are the same before merging. The auto merging function is creating lots of issue when the customers name are the same.

Manual Journals - Adjustments option for a selected customer
Add a section to manual journals so that you can make adjustments for a specific vendor (customer).
For example, our customer signed a contract for subscription for 12 months. I show deffered revenue and then every month I transfer part of this deferred revenue to revenue. It is very difficult to track whether all deferred revenue has been converted into revenue if it is not possible to keep records of revenue by counterparties, especially if multi-currency accounting.2 votes -
Invoicing - Print voided invoices
I mistakenly issued some invoices and had to void them. That made our invoice number sequence non-consecutive. This is a problem for my accountant here in Romania because we need to file the voided invoices as justification on using non-consecutive invoice numbers.
I want to be able to print them as PDFs and the documents to be marked as voided.9 votes -
Bank Statements - Support OFX importing with multiple statements per file
I am working with Société Générale (France) and we are not so lucky to have the automated bank transactions functionality. Our bank is combining both main bank movement and credit card movements in their OFX format.
This currently gives me the following error message in Xero : The file selected contains more than one statement which is not currently supported. Download a file with transactions for one account and try again.
My error message finds its cause in the fact that I have an export from the bank that contains both <bankmsgrsv1> and <creditcardmsgrsv1> transactions.
Why does Xero not allow…1 vote
