  1. We are all required to keep tax code and other notifications from HMRC for a number of years. Currently we have to do that in hard copy. It would be great to be able to upload a copy to the employee record instead.

  2. It would be really helpful if a bill could be created from the pension filing figures on payroll once you have clicked on marked as filed. (such as it is an option when you do your vat return)

  3. Payroll reports - it will be good to have a COMPARISION field on payroll reports just like the P&L - to compare with previous n number of months / periods.

    While the grouping / summarizing features are good - they are limited to just reporting on a particular period.

    Hence any Comparisions are tedious to run / export and consolidate on excel.

    For. eg. I'd like to run a report to display :
    Afternoon Shift Loading & Overtime work for a month OR the full FY with monthly columns.
    Is this something we can get to without having to export…

  4. Save and Next option for Timesheet approval.

    Rather than having to go back to the beginning for each and every timesheet approval you should be able to save and view next in the same way you can with bills.

  5. For catering companies, or any business with many employees or recurring weekly staff, payroll can become stressful and very time-consuming. This is because all employees need to be unticked before running payroll for only those who actually worked in that specific week. Other companies face the same issue as well. Is there any shortcut to untick all employees at once before preparing payroll for the employees who actually worked in that week?

    Hi everyone, thanks for your votes and comments on this idea. It’s clear that a simple 'Untick All' option when creating a pay run would save you a lot of time. We understand that manually deselecting employees one by one is time consuming, especially for those who have a large number of employees but only need to process a pay run for a few. We will keep this idea updated as we move through any design and development phases.

  6. Payroll report (or add field to existing), "date employee last paid".
    We have a lot of seasonal adhoc casuals, it would be good to have a column in payroll reports showing the last pay-period they were paid in. We'd use this to off-board employees we haven't paid in a certain period of time (i.e. 12 months). We don't use Xero timesheets, so it can't be done this way.

  8. There is currently an option for a DEA to be table based when setting it up, however this doesn't do any of the calculations for the DEA. Instead, they need to be calculated manually & entered as a fixed amount. There is also no way of keeping track of the amounts deducted until the total has been paid within Xero, this also has to be done manually. This can especially be difficult if the employee's pay varies each period.

  9. In Xero Payroll, it would greatly improve efficiency if the "Save & Next" button appeared at the top of the employee pay details screen, not just at the bottom.

    For businesses with detailed pay setups (multiple earnings lines, deductions, reimbursements, etc.), scrolling to the bottom of every employee’s pay screen just to click "Save & Next" is time consuming and disruptive to workflow.

    Adding this button to the top would:

    • Streamline navigation during pay runs

    • Reduce unnecessary scrolling

    • Improve accessibility for users reviewing multiple employee pays in one session

    This small UI change would make a big difference for payroll…

  10. It would be very useful to enable business to set up own date to submit EPS or amend it. It is automatically set up within deadline but business should be able to submit earlier or later if required

  11. When running reports to review Staff costs & looking into account transactions, Payroll journals provide descriptions that don't give correct/clear context. For example, under Employers Pension Contributions, the description provided is "Benefits" rather than Employers Pension Contributions. Or under Employment Costs it just says Earnings rather than "Gross Earnings". A final example was when an employee took unpaid leave, however the only description provided was "Deductions". This does not reflect clear context. It would be helpful if Xero had the means to be able to customise these descriptions or maybe have the option to ask Payroll/Reports to mirror the descriptions…

  12. Ability to have an expand and collapse button for pays previously posted and presented under Pay Run History.

    After using Xero for a number of years, locating a previous pay run becomes looking for a needle in a haystack as this section is just a swamp of pays.

    Grouping in payroll financial years or having a date filter would assist greatly also.

    Hi Yvonne, thanks so much for raising this idea and sharing your thoughts with us. We totally see how useful it’d be to have the option to expand or collapse pay run history, or group it by financial year in the Payroll product.

    As pay run history builds up, it can definitely get a bit tedious trying to scroll through and find what you need. Having a more organised view would really help when you’re digging into older payroll data.

    As a temporary workaround, you may find it helpful to use Ctrl + F (or Command + F on Mac) to quickly search the screen for a specific date or payroll year. We know it’s not a perfect fix, especially when there’s a lot of data, but it might make things a little quicker in the meantime.

    Hi community, appreciate your sharing in community here. Atm if you're wanting to change the payment date for an unscheduled pay run, you can edit the payment date while the pay run is in draft status. We don't have any plans for automating this.

  15. Remove the feature of 'Other Previous Earnings', or an option of allowing us to choose whether to have this feature. Grouping all previous pay items into 'Other Previous Earnings' in the same financial year is confusing and our employees won't understand what it is for. Please get rid of it!

    Hi everyone, we really appreciate the sentiment and engagement on the idea of being able to forecast leave balances.

    We know this feature could make planning ahead and managing leave approvals much easier, but at this stage it’s not something we’re planning to develop in the near term, so we’ll be moving it to 'Not in pipeline'.

    We’ll continue to keep an eye on how this idea trends in the community and will leave it open for voting. If our plans change, we’ll share an update here.

  17. Please update to have the option of removing salary hours on payslips.
    We just need the Gross Salary for that line and not the hours.
    When we have employees working accross different days of the week Xero Payroll round the hours and so in our example someone on 100 hours working 11 days per fortnight, Xero Payroll rounds the Salary Hours to 99.9999 on the payslip which is close but not correct. Currently no workaround for this.

  18. My EOM reports include PL, BS, Receivables AND payroll. Management report doesn't allow payroll reports to be added. Please allow this to be added to minimise time generating additional reports.

  19. Please can Xero add an Employee 'Known As' Name Field to the Employee Record, and show this alongside the legal name, on the Employees Homepage (& when running payroll) with the ability to sort alphabetically by this 'known as' name in both places.
    Nearly half of our employees go by names that are not their legal name. e.g. Annie = Kit Yee, Kate = Catherine, or go by their middle name instead of their first name.

    This issue is making running payroll ever more difficult and the potential for error incredibly high, as often the legal name bears no resemblance…
