  1. It would be good to beable to add employees Annual bonuses into xero so we don't have to refer to their contracts each time. As well as a report that will show employees details Remuneration, Bonuses etc

    In the meantime, we can suggest a possible workaround so that your employees bonus information is held within Xero would be to add this as a Note in each employees Employment record for easy access.

  2. Timesheets - aside from just having an employee enter hours worked against each, it would be good to have a customizable timesheet that other fields could be recorded against the day that are not hours driven. For example - for one day have the employee enter 5hrs of time worked but also another field for a quantity driver - eg; enter quantity of 3. We have one client with a large number of employees that are remunerated via an hourly rate plus a quantity driver.   4. After the recent Xero upgrade, the ability to view leave dates disappeared from the employees' History. Instead, a column titled "Next pay day" was added, which does not seem useful because the employees have left the company.

  5. Payroll report (or add field to existing), "date employee last paid".
    We have a lot of seasonal adhoc casuals, it would be good to have a column in payroll reports showing the last pay-period they were paid in. We'd use this to off-board employees we haven't paid in a certain period of time (i.e. 12 months). We don't use Xero timesheets, so it can't be done this way.

  6. As the automatic journal for payroll is not able to be viewed before posting to accounts, we should have the option to turn off automatic journals. Currently, we have to post, then go back and do another journal to split out ER NI & Pension for different departments. This system is so unflexible.

  7. When an employee has a postponed autoenrollment the pension doesn't prompt or show up until just before the payment run has been posted. Making any prior payroll reports and payslips incorrect as the pension then tags on at the end. So reports then need to be reprinted and balanced again.

    Can the prompt no show up at the start of the pay run? This will then save any duplicated reports and potential incorrect payments.

    Also the pension filing report viewable before the RTI posting.

    Alternatively, enter the postponement date when posting the pay run in which the employee becomes eligible…

  8. On the Gross to Net report, payments before August 2024 have a "posted date" set to the date the report was generated, which is incorrect. See attached example.
    To reduce confusion, either:
    - The Posted Date feature should be backdated so that payments before August 2024 show the correct "posted date"
    - Payments before August 2024 should not state a "posted date" at all.

  10. Link the holiday group, working pattern and leave entitlement so it automatically deducts the relevant number of hours taken off for a bank holiday. Our contracts stipulate 28 days including bank holidays pro rated. The holiday group deducts the bank holidays on the pay slips but doesn't reduce the annual entitlement so the leave allowance is always higher than it should be. If you don't use the holiday group so you can circumvent the allowance being incorrect you then have to manually add the bank holidays for each user to ensure the pay and holiday allowance is correct which is…

  11. Portable Long Service Leave Report - need a quarterly report that meets the NSW Cleaning Long Service Leave requirements. Also a spot for the LSL worker numbers in the employee file that prefills into report. The quickbooks reports does this reporting VERY well

  12. It would be useful to be able to deselect employees form completing time sheets and therefore not appear on the time sheet screen. We have admin staff that don't complete time sheets but I still have to submit nil time sheets to ensure all are up-to-date

    We've reviewed your idea and can see that the idea regarding notifications is an existing Xero Product Idea called Notification - Reminder to employee to enter Timesheet. This is currently in review with our product team.

    The ability to input weekly hours (rather than daily) has not yet been raised though. The idea is now available to the community to share their support. We'll keep you updated!

  14. It would be really helpful if a bill could be created from the pension filing figures on payroll once you have clicked on marked as filed. (such as it is an option when you do your vat return)

  15. Hi Xero Team, I’d like to provide some feedback regarding how timesheets integrate with payroll in Xero Payroll. Currently, each timesheet period is directly tied to the payroll calendar, which means that once a payroll is posted or finalised, the related timesheet period automatically closes. This setup prevents employees from entering or submitting any hours that fall after the posting date, even if those hours occur before the end of the pay period. In practice, this creates challenges for businesses that: Need to finalise payroll a few days in advance to allow time for approvals and payments, and Still require…

  17. Xero defaults to full pay period hours for a new employee in the 1st payrun even if the employee start date (already entered into Xero) is part-way through a payrun. This doesn't make sense and is too easy to overpay a new employee in this way, if a manual override has not been done. Ideally, Xero would calculate the expected hours for a salaried employee based on the start date, but another idea would be to flash up a warning before finalising a payrun with employees that have a start date listed within the pay run period.

Currently, if you enter the ESA (electronic service address) of a SMSF (self-managed super fund) into Xero in lowercase instead of uppercase/capital letters, Xero times out and doesn't save when you ask it to. Xero should be able to take input in lowercase and automatically adjust it to the uppercase that seems to be required. Alternatively, an error message that tells me wheat the problem is would be useful.

  20. In Xero Payroll, it would greatly improve efficiency if the "Save & Next" button appeared at the top of the employee pay details screen, not just at the bottom.

    For businesses with detailed pay setups (multiple earnings lines, deductions, reimbursements, etc.), scrolling to the bottom of every employee’s pay screen just to click "Save & Next" is time consuming and disruptive to workflow.

    Adding this button to the top would:

    • Streamline navigation during pay runs

    • Reduce unnecessary scrolling

    • Improve accessibility for users reviewing multiple employee pays in one session

    This small UI change would make a big difference for payroll…
