  1. There needs to be the ability to undo/unlock a submitted ATO Activity Statement when lodgement has failed with the ATO and it has been rejected. When submitting an Activity Statement with a variation, they are often rejected by the ATO as the ATO recaclulates its own amounts and the submitted AS is rejected. This results in an AS that is listed as "Failed" un the Needs attention section of the Activity Statement page. There is currently no way for an end user to undo the failed AS to correct any issues for resubmission.

    Hi community, as promised I'm back to confirm that the ability to revert a failed business activity statement back to draft is now live to all users. 

    Now, if your statement has failed to lodge with the ATO, you'll find an option to "Revert to draft" in the 3 dot menu icon next to the failed statement. When selected, the statement will be reverted to Draft status allowing you to correct it and re-lodge to the ATO.

  2. We issue quotes / invoices to customers, and POs to our vendors that include links to more detailed instructions / specifications on our Sharepoint server. The links don't appear live on the PDF documents so folks have to copy and paste them to view the additional content. It would be great if URLs could generate live hyperlinks so that additional information can be linked in the body of a quote / invoice / PO

    Hi Vanessa, 

    I just tested adding a URL in the Description field on a standard invoice template and when viewing the invoice as a PDF, the hyperlink to the URL does work if you mouse-over the first line of the URL.

    Alternatively, if there are common links you want to direct your customers to, you could add them to other areas of your invoices, quotes or PO by using an advanced template.  For example you could create an invoice template for a certain type of scenario with the relevant links you need to share, and add them just below the line items and total amounts on the invoice. Then when you need to send these links you just select that invoice branding theme.


  3. You can now create a contact from an invoice. Great, this was overdue.
    Why stop at only allowing some of the details though? Weird.
    Now I have to go back into the contact and edit it to add Company name etc.
    It's just creating more work when I could have done everything from the one spot.
    Please fix!

    Sorry for not updating you here sooner, team. We've been making a lot of changes within new invoicing. One of these being enabling you to enter more contact details from the new invoicing screen, without having to navigate away.

    You'll find you can now enter the contact name, email, billing address, delivery address, and phone all from the contact card within a new invoice. These details will be reflected without the need to refresh the screen 🙂

  4. Would it be possible to create a setting where users can be blocked from processing an invoice with duplicate reference numbers. There is currently a message displayed but some users click past it therefore creating duplicate invoices/bills. Perhaps the message can be made more prominent and displayed in Red to alert users.

    Hi team, as you might've noticed duplicate detection in bills is now available to everyone! 🥳

    We have a bit of detail on how this works in Xero central. Just to confirm outside of the Actions column If you need to view or edit a bill you'll need to return to the bills list to open the bill from here and make changes.

    Our team are considering future enhancements in this space to enable you the ability to access bills from this screen. 😊

  5. Add an option when uploading receipts to scan in the receipt. This can then take all relevant information from he receipt and give you the option to match this expenses with similar information or to create a new spend money transaction.

    Much quicker and simpler than manually adding this information every time you buy from a new supplier, and will be quicker to match to transactions.

  6. If you aren't using a mouse, files in the inbox can only be acted upon by using the checkbox and then tabbing to the buttons at the top of the inbox. You can open the kebab button to the right, but then you can't action any of the options on the pop up menu using spacebar or enter, which are the usual button-press keys.

    It takes infinite button presses to go from the top of the screen to a file halfway down and then all the way up to the top to action it, but eventually you get there. So…

  7. INVOICING - in the field 'Unit Price', it would be great to be able to have this default to the hourly rate we charge (and to override if necessary). We send our invoices to our clients at the end of each month, and therefore there are several entries for the daily activities charged throughout the month, hence having to input the hourly rate several times for each invoice.

    Hi there! You can already achieve this by filtering the History and Notes report by Contact, and also using the search to refine the results by bank account edits. I've attached a video demonstrating how - hope this helps 😊

    Good news team, quick view is out and this is now available to everyone. As you'll see from the bills list view there is now an eye icon that shows a right side preview of your bill when clicked. To simply move from one bill to the next use the arrows above your bill view. This makes it even simpler to take bulk action on multiple bills at once without having to open and review each individually.

    Thanks for your engagement on this, everyone. Our improvements to the way you manage your online payment methods in Xero, have now been released to all users.

    With the new flow you can easily set up and access differing payment methods to your customers when sending invoices. With ability to choose to enable or disable the payment options you want to offer, you have more control. You can add multiple payment methods to an invoice(like Stripe and a connected app), giving your customers more choice in how they pay, so you can get paid on time.

  11. We should be able to adjust the holiday year to the UK tax year as that seems to be very common. ( There is already a discussion topic for this but I cannot see it on this list.
    We should also be able to show holidays in days not hours.
    We should be able to calculate holiday hours for employees that do not do a 5 day week. The hours taken on holiday need to be overwritten every time a PT employee books time off.

    Hi community, happy to share that these changes have now been released in UK Payroll! 🎉 You now have the ability to set employee's leave to accrue based on a custom date of your choosing. We appreciate your inputs and based on the feedback we've made a change so that leave will now accrue on the first day of your annual accrual method.

  12. Currently, when super payments bounce, Xero sends us an email letting us know that a payment to a particular super fund from a particular payment batch has failed. Once we've identified whose it was, and got the updated details, we then have to contact Xero to get a re-processing authorised.

    All of this takes time, during which the Directors of my clients may become liable for late super payments. I'd like a button to click to speed up at least the contacting Xero for re-processing bit - preferably as part of the process identify the refund received and connect the…

    Hi team, sorry we haven't joined in this idea sooner. Earlier this year we released an improvement so now if an auto superannuation payment is returned the authoriser will receive an email including the reason for the return. They will be able to withdraw the payment from the processed batch to reprocess the contributions. We have detailed help for this on Xero Central, but if you run into any snags as always our Xero Support team are available to help. 🙂

  13. Within the debtors and creditors reports (either detailed or summary) the ability to show balances as of todays date when working on client's system up to 9 months later, would be handy to see which debtors and creditors are still outstanding.
    I.e. client has £100k debtors as at their year end 31/3/22, but when we run report on say 31/7/22, how many of that £100k is still outstanding? To have a toggle to the balance at the report date (31/3/22) or the current date would help,

    Hi everyone, thanks for showing your interest here. With the newer Aged Detail reports, you can achieve this by;

    1. Setting the date of the report to the date you want to include payments up to
    2. Click Filter
    3. Set an Invoice Date filter as 'any' - 'invoices raised up to date'

    If this is something you'll commonly run you may want to save the report as custom so you can easily open the report anytime. You'll just want to remember to adjust the filter for the Invoice Date. 🙂

  14. I wish to see if invoices are paid on unpaid when pulling account transaction reports.

    Accounting - Account Transaction Report - Columns - (add if we can see if bill/invoice paid or unpaid)

    There is no way currently when pulling this report to see if the bills are paid or not.

    Apologies for not seeing your response here sooner, Jayden. Thanks for sharing that image. I do hope you've got your answer already but to confirm for anyone viewing here - That screenshot appears to be the Account Transactions report. 

    To view paid or unpaid invoices or bills you'll want to run the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail reports. This is a slightly different report to what you're looking at and can be found in the Payables and Receivables section of the reports centre. 

  15. The ability to search bills and filter specifically for a credit notes would be helpful.
    Also, if a credit note has been used the total is $0 - it would be helpful if the total was still shown as paid.

  16. At the moment there doesn't seem to be a way to pay a monthly employee a basic monthly salary without the hourly rate changing to reflect the number of working days in the month. Please can there be an option to pay a monthly employee a basic 12th of their annual salary each month and the hours per month are set to the average of a 12th of their annual hours so that the hourly rate for overtime etc stays the same each month.

    Hi everyone, we’re pleased to share that we’ve now released working patterns to all UK organisations that use Xero Payroll.

    You can now enter more information about employees’ working patterns to support leave and earning rates calculations and save you time. You’ll be able to:

    • Create or select from working pattern templates
    • Add working patterns manually or using the template
    • Setup multiple weeks of a working pattern

    Being able to set up to 13 weeks in a template means you’ll be able to accurately reflect employees’ that may work differing hours through weeks in a month like you’re after here. We’ve shared a few videos on YouTube that’ll help guide you through the change 😊

  17. Please can we have the product enhancement for the LOCKED DATES, whereby the Advisor role can LOCK THE DATES to stop other employees/departments posting entries, but the Advisor can OVERIDE the lock dates to post month end/year end journals.

    Hi there

    There are two Lock Date settings in the Financial Settings screen; one for all users except advisers, and one for all users.

    To do this, you could leave the 'all users' date blank, and set a relevant lock date for 'all users except advisers'.

    This would allow Adviser users to bypass the Lock Date, while still leaving this restriction in place for other users.

    Alternatively, you might leave the 'all users' setting in place to prevent Advisers unknowingly making an change prior to the Lock Date.

    If the Adviser does need to override this, they could temporarily delete this date, or move it forwards.

  18. When reviewing a business' product range for the sake of refining and optimising, we need to identify which customers purchases what products and in what quantities and to what value.
    E.g. if I have a butchery, I would want to know who my top purchasers of beef products are and my top purchasers of pork products, and how much those customers spend on beef and pork respectively over a given period.

    Hi community, with the Inventory Item Details report you'll be able to add columns for Contact and Group by Item Name. once run clicking on the Contact header will group all sales for a customer of each item so you can easily see which customers have purchased the most of one item.

    If you sell to different customers at different prices you can also add margin and/or profit columns to get a better understanding of those you make the most return from.

  19. Under Bank Statements, you should be able to search all records with an Unreconciled Status. When you Search and select "Unreconciled" in the search bar, you still get ALL records -- reconciled and not.

    We're really pleased to let you know that we've now released a fix for this! The filter for reconciliation status will now apply correctly on the Bank Statement or Account transaction pages of a bank account.

    But, when i just submitted a support ticked and was typing in the description and with every character of mouse click it would reload the suggested articles.
    Which is just not how it should work.
    The old format was perfectly fine.

    Now, when raising a case with our Xero Support team and typing in the description the articles suggested on the right side won't update as quickly as they were before.
