  1. Please put the customer's payments on the activity page so it is easier to see what payments went to which invoices. Seeing that an invoice is paid isn't enough information if the customer has questions. It would be nice to see WHICH payment is applied to an invoice.

  2. We need to be able search for items which have no account or account code allocated to them in error. There is no way to search for 'unallocated Accounts' under account transactions.

  3. Ability to change the default work week for entering and viewing time entries in Projects.

    Hi Danielle, when you say you'd like to post an application. Could quotes potentially be a fit for this purpose here? Otherwise could you share a bit more detail on what would be needed to record the application in Xero.

  5. For tracked inventory items, there's no way to change the inventory asset account which can be inconvenient. As the inventory grows, they are put under new different classifications so I want to add a new inventory asset account for each. However, I cannot change it in the item's inventory asset account when it is already tracked. It would be very helpful if this will be allowed. Or at least a way to delete a tracked item if there's no transactions/bills, but only adjustments.

  6. Currently there is no discount field on the credit note form which creates a fundamental flaw in the xero system. If you look at the attached invoice report you will notice that all credit note entries have no amounts in the discount column even though they all have discount. This overstates the discount amount when you calculate the total discounts because there are no discount credit amounts to correct the discount. We recommend adding a discount section to the credit notes form to correct this as the report is incorrect without this.

    Hi Katrina, when you say you'd like to bulk attach documents - would this be adding the same attachments to multiple bills at once or bulk adding attachments within a singular draft bill?

  8. I'm pretty sure many businesses, like us, invoice some or all of their clients on an annual basis for services delivered across that year. In that case, we post the income from those invoices to an 'Income in Advance' account and then set up a monthly repeating journal to allocate 1/12th of that revenue from the 'Income in Advance' account to the correct P&L income account.

    This is a slow and cumbersome process that is prone to human error. For instance, when a client leaves, we have to delete their annual repeating invoice and remember to delete their corresponding monthly…

Currently, when you assign a leave type to a new employee, for all leave types other than annual leave and personal leave you have to go into that leave type on the employee card and manually change the leave settings to what should be the default for all employees. For example, RDOs should always be paid out on cessation of employment, but the default setting is "not paid out", and I cannot change the default setting, only each individual's settings.

    I should be able to set what the default settings are, to reduce the likelihood of stuffing it up.

  10. In files, previewing a PDF that has been uploaded or sent to files will not work for many chrome users.

    Upon opening in files, it gives the error "This file can't be previewed with this browser."

    This occurs if the user has google chrome, and has google chrome set to "Download PDFs" instead of "Open PDFs in Chrome."

    Many people have chrome set this way. Other sites have somehow managed to make their PDF preview still work...hopefully Xero can implement this. The current setup makes it very hard to review uploaded files when they are in PDF format, as they…

  11. Please make audible alerts to "messages", tips, etc optional.
    I wear earphones and work across multiple devices and it is quite irritating to hear "bloop" when working across multiple tabs.

  12. This report is great, I love it but we need to be able to customize it more. When you try and add columns it gives a message saying that you have to delete the total column first, then you need to manually add a total column which isn't the end of the world, but you can't select the the new total column in and of the formulas, like if I wanted to add the variance column (Which I would love to) but I can't.

  13. When a selecting the new invoicing platform, you lose certain functions.
    The first function that has been lost is the ability to copy invoice data to a purchase order - this feature needs to added to the new platform as some business use this to purchase items that have been sold from a supplier and makes sure there are no errors.
    The second function is when invoicing from Project the time entered for that project is no longer being allocated to an invoice and showing in the project as not invoiced, this will cause doubling up on billing.

    Hi community, I'm pleased to share with you that the Product team are investigating the first part of this idea - to copy invoice data to a purchase order in new invoicing. There's a few other bits of work lined up before they get to this but we'll be sure to return with an update on progress once there's more news 📰 

    As for the second function raised here, when you raise an invoice from Projects that includes tasks, time entries or expenses, if you change the project field on new invoicing the connection with Projects will be removed. To correct this, you can either void/delete the invoice and recreate it from the project or manually mark the time entry/task/cost as invoiced.

  14. Average Employee Numbers in the Year

    As part of preparing accounts, the average employee number is often required. If this could be generated within Xero that would save time collating the number of employees per month and working out an average for the year. It could subsequently be used as working out the amount of revenue attributable to each staff member.

  15. I would appreciate the Search engine to be reverted back to how it was. The new "upgraded" search is close to useless. When I search for clients, I expect all relevant clients to come up. I don't want to type in the whole client name, just to get their details to show up. Previously I could type in a few letters and the search would come up with an amazing list of relevance....
    1. Contact listed first
    2. Invoices listed next
    3. Bills listed thereafter
    4. then lastly bank transactions

    These searches used to come up with appropriate information and…

  16. The "Review and pay" banner misleads recipients into thinking they can make electronic payments, but we're not using e-invoicing and have it turned off. Another major issue is that it causes significant delays in loading or, in some cases, renders the invoice completely inaccessible. The banner in the new invoicing should be named "Review" rather than "Review and pay" or be editable to suit different needs.

  17. Please add option to show invoice values excl/incl tax in invoice list views

    Bulk invoice features. We would like to see more functionality added to the bulk editing in the sales overview/invoices:
    - Bulk editing of Due dates
    - Bulk editing of Expected date
    A more consistent 'Tally by checkbox' - this works really well in the invoices lists where a sum of all checked invoice values are shown but this feature is missing in invoice searches.

  19. It would be good if you could edit some fields in an expense after it has been paid, without having to undo the payment and redo. It would be the the same as for Bills where you can edit some fields after they have been paid.
    We pay our bills in batches so to undo a payment means you have to undo a lot of payments and redo.
    The fields we would like to edit (like a tracking category, or unassigning an expense as billable) do not affect the payment details.

    Hi community, we understand your needs in this feature and want to assure you were taking on board all your feedback. 

    As many of you accustom to this idea will know, multiple addresses requires a complex solution. It's been something we’ve been moving towards for some time and we’ve done a lot of back end work that will allow us to bring it to you in the future. 

    We have 12 different products within Xero that rely on contact data, as well as many of our app partners. This means that contacts need to seamlessly flow across technology, products and all connections on Xero. And that’s exactly what we’ve been working on. 

    One of the reasons we announced the retirement of classic invoicing is because many of the features being asked for, just can’t be brought into classic invoicing. The old technology has too many technology limitations to enable this.…
