Allow an authorised staff member to submit a mileage expense claim for an existing staff member that does not have access to the Expenses add-on. Sometimes business owners do not want staff to have authority to submit expenses, or they're so rare, maybe a few times per year.
Giving someone Expenses access brings with it a range of policy requirements, authorisation and approvals process and other administrative burden, simply for being able to submit an occasional claim.
An authorised person should be able to submit on behalf of the staff member, up to a certain number of times per year, before it's obvious they need full Expenses submitter access. I would have thought once per month or even 6 times a year shouldn't incur the additional cost of adding someone to Expenses and the additional authorisations and supervision required to manage this.

Account Transaction Report: Filter by Customer Account Number
Please can you consider offering a accounts transaction report that allows you to see transaction by unique customer account number - otherwise what is the point of having a unique customer account number?

Bills - Wrap tracking category in field
Can the tracking category be "text wrapped" so that the full description can be seen? I often have to click edit to see the full description of the tracking category which takes takes time.

cis "monthly statements" email
We send CIS statements to our SubContractors each month and the tool that does it is very good.

Option to hide zero balance projects in P&L comparison
When comparing the Profit & Loss by projects, it would be very helpful to have an option such as “Hide zero balance projects” after selecting all projects. Currently, when we select all projects (we have more than 100), the report also shows those with zero balances (no transactions). This makes the report slower to display and download, and we have to manually remove those projects afterwards. Would it be possible to add such a feature to improve efficiency and reporting usability?

only show open balance sheet items
Only show 'open items' on Balance sheet
Have an ability to match items in a balance sheet account, so only the 'open amounts' (which make up the total) are visible eg for accruals - don't have to see all the old accruals, and the invoices that have cleared these out. Would be able to see summary of just the 'open amounts'

Facility to disable automatic invoice numbering
Ability to turn off automatic invoice numbering. I have 2 separate invoice number sequences and a lot of self billing invoices that come in. The current system of automatic numbering does not work well for me at all.

Color code spent and receive
Our clients would like and update to the bank reconciliation screen, color coding spent items and receive items so that they can tell at a quick glance if it was money that has come in and money that has gone out of the bank account.

Bills - Add 'Make Payment' option available in Canada for 'Bills'.
In Canada, 'Make Payment' button is not available in 'Bills'. It would be nice to make payment directly from the Bills instead making payment from the bank.

Bills - Filter bills list by account code
On Xero bills, as well as being able to filter and search for purchase invoices by contact or invoice reference, being able to search by a nominal code would be helpful. For example, making a payment run for all of one type of cost; finding any invoices that have not been allocated properly or for finding amounts that need to be included in management accounts.

Expenses - Permission to submit on behalf without approval
Expenses - I want to be able to give an employee the ability to submit on another's behalf but not to be able to approve them or see everyone else's expenses e.g. Executive PA should only be able to submit her the Executive and not have the option to approve or see another employee's expenses.

Bank accounts - Ability for Managers to approve updated bank account details for contacts.
Add the ability for Managers to approve bank account details for contacts. Ie the Bookkeeper can enter in & change the suppliers bank account details in Xero, but the manager can then go an approve it.

Reporting - Filter the Profit and Loss by Contact
When exporting the profit and loss transactions it would be amazing for one of the columns to show the Contact in isolation rather than merging the contact and description into one field. This would allow much easier spreadsheet analysis by contact.

purchase order
Purchase order should be able to be exported as an excel file because then this can be imported into suppliers ordering portal with one click.
This will save time for businesses by removing the duplicacy of first preparing POs in xero then going into supplier online purchasing portal and selecting all the items to be ordered manually. Such supplier portals do have import excel file option. But xero doesn't have a export file option for Purchase orders.

Ability to import batch payments received with info from remittance advice.
Can your team consider putting a feature in xero that allows us to get data from a remittance advice and upload so that payments for invoices on the file are applied in bulk. Currently we have to create batch deposits by manually selecting invoices for payment. I have hundreds of small invoices paid each month and payment is made from another Xero account. I want to be able to match these payments off faster. Surely they would be a faster way than the current individual selection.

Bank Feeds - Suggestion for Lloyds Charge Card Bank Feed
The charge card bank feed from Lloyds CCDM to be implemented into Xero. Currently a manual statement has to be uploaded.

Invoice templates - Ability to edit Title for Prepayments

Why can't we alter what shows on a prepayment? We have several customers who mistakenly pay us twice for invoices, this is made worse when we send them the prepayments (of the double payments) which say "Tax Invoice" suggesting this is money owing to us. Why can't we change the title to "Credit Note" or similar, so that our customers know that they've overpaid without us needing to manually contact each customer.
It should be a fairly easy fix, seeing that most types of invoices, quotes, drafts, etc have the ability to have custom titles. Add in Prepayments.Thank you.

Create a new Sales transaction directly from the file library and attach the file
Please reinstate the ability to create a sales invoice directly from the file library and have the file attached. This function was bafflingly removed in 'new' invoicing for sales yet the ability to create all the other types of transactions directly from file library was retained. This is a critical function when dealing with multiple BCIs (buyer created invoices) every month. Often the BCI file name does not include the customer name so requires opening the file in file library as well as creating the new sales invoice since files cannot be attached & viewed within the sales invoice until after specifying the customer contact.
