Singapore Tax - Rework the Deemed Supplies tax code
In Singapore, deemed supplies include free samples given to customers at no charge. If input tax was claimed on the purchase of these sample items, businesses are required to account for output tax when giving out the samples. Currently, Xero does not allow sales invoices to be issued at a zero value. As a result, if a sample is given at no charge, the sales invoice does not register any tax code. The workaround is to input a sales value and create a negative line item to ensure the invoice registers the tax code.
The second issue arises when using Xero's "deemed supplies" tax code for sample invoices that involve inventory items. When issuing an invoice for a sample with a nominal value (due to the previous issue), and selecting the deemed supplies tax code, the GST F5 form fails to capture the cost of the inventory item (i.e., the deemed supply) and the corresponding output tax. The workaround here is to manually enter the cost of the inventory item when issuing the invoice, and use a second line without affecting the inventory. This results in needing to manually check the inventory module to determine the average cost every time a sample invoice is issued. Additionally, this approach renders the deemed supplies tax code redundant, as the standard-rated supply tax code would achieve the same outcome. XERO may wish to consider working on this deemed supply code.

Billable Expenses - Add Project Billable Expenses to Draft Invoices
Please implement a feature allowing users to add billable expenses assigned to Projects directly to an existing draft invoice.
Currently, users can only add billable expenses directly to a draft invoice if the expense is assigned to a Customer. When expenses are assigned to a Project, they can only be invoiced through Projects. This causes issues when an expense assigned to a Project is has been missed, and needs to be added to the draft invoice. The current workaround requires deleting the draft invoice and starting the invoicing process again, which is time-consuming and inefficient.

Bills - Add an Autosave function
It would be really useful if Bills autosaved to Drafts - as happens when you enter an Invoice. Because Invoices are autosaved, you are in that mindset and can often forget that you have to click Save or Approve for a Bill to be logged.

Stripe - Revert back to one Stripe Bank Account in Xero rather than requiring two accounts
Last week, against my wishes (and against Xero Support's own knowledge), Xero System Generated a second Stripe bank account in Xero.
I already had a Stripe bank account in Xero that was working fine, it had a bank feed for payments processed via Stripe from other software, and it would have the bank feed and create the payment and fee Xero transactions for payments processed via Stripe on Xero invoices.
I don't want two separate Stripe bank accounts in Xero for my one Stripe AUD account.
Why does Xero do unhelpful things like this?

New Invoices - New Contact search address by postcode
As the new invoicing is no longer optional. I believe this issue must be addressed for all customers in the United Kingdom.
When adding a new contact upon invoice creation, allow us to search for the address via postcode like we used to. This could be achieved by postcode search ABOVE Billing Address, then auto-populate the billing address based on the input post code.
Note there were many issues with the search results which must also be addressed (See: https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/46289185-contacts-improve-uk-postcode-lookup)
OR alternatively allow us to simply input the full address as one line and YOU automatically digest it and put the relevant information in the appropriate fields, (UK addresses are not THAT complex to sort this out and this would be an enormous time-saver for those of us that have tens to hundreds of new clients every week.
At the VERY least, you could default the country field to United Kingdom!

AU Payroll - Annual leave for casual employee
Xero has removed the ability for casual employees to apply for annual leave if that leave is available to them. Annual leave is part of my casual employees employment contracts. The employees and I have agreed that they will receive annual leave and sick leave.
These leave types were catered for in the past and the employees were able to apply for them when required. Now, despite still accruing those leave types, they are unable to apply for them.
This change by Xero restricts my business's ability to determine what conditions I offer to my employees. While the terms of employment I offer are all above the minimum standards of the NES (national employment standards), Xero can't deal with that for some reason despite being able to deal with it in the past.

Xero Projects - Show Supplier Name for un allocated expenses
Currently Unallocated Expenses in Xero projects just show the item line description Which can make assigning to an estimated expense difficult especially when you have "Delivery Charges" I propose a change so that once an expense is allocated to a project and falls into the unassigned it shows the name of the supplier

Invoice - PDF template editable for last column too
It’d be awesome if the last column “total price AUD” was an editable field in the invoice template PDF so I can edit and print an invoice when doing home visits without wifi
1 voteHi Shae-lyn, when you say you'd like the total column to be editable - Can you share what you would want to edit this too? If you're using an advanced branding theme you may be able to make the changes you're seeking.

Bank Reconciliation - Report date to default to next period
When reconciling bank account, then publishing it should display the bank details as setup in chart of accounts - it just just says bank reconciliation. So makes it hard to know which report is which. Once reconciled it should default to the the next date so you don't have to change dates continuously.

Hubdoc - Link bills uploaded from Hubdoc to Purchase Orders in Xero
We publish a large quantity of bills from Hubdoc to Xero. To implement a purchase order system we will need to be able to link these bills from Hubdoc to Purchase orders created in Xero. Otherwise Hubdoc is not really of use to us and will make the work load more.

AU Payroll - Calculate termination pay pro rata
Currently if termination date falls in the middle of a pay cycle, the final pay run will not calculate the staff pay pro rata and therefore payroll admin has to manually update the payslip. Please include this feature so Xero constructs the payslip taking into consideration the termination date whilst still using the employee card details (rates, deductions etc etc).

Manual Journal - Allow standard users access to Manual journal screen
For some reason "standard users" cannot see Manual Journals in the accounting menu.
Please allow standard users to access Manual Journals from the Accounting menu rather than having to go to reports. Its just a time waster.

AU - Manually edit AU GST on transactions
In Australia, users need to be able to manually edit the amount of GST paid on a transaction. This is required because certain transactions (particularly grocery and pharmacy transactions) have a mixture of items, some of which have GST applied, and some that do not. Unfortunately, the receipts for these types of transactions do not indicate which specific items have incurred GST - they just have a total amount of GST paid on that receipt. As such, it would be great if users could just override the total amount of GST paid for those receipts. See attached for an example of such a receipt.

Add Logo & header/footer
I have setup a custom report to generate timesheets for different projects as we need to provide these to customers, along with the invoice.
Currently, I have to export and then copy and paste and tweak it, to fit into either a PDF or Excel so I can add our company logo and details.
It would be great if we could add a Header and/or Footer with text and enable the organisation's logo to be displayed when printing to PDF.
4 votesHi Emily, if you are a Xero Partner you can set up report styles which will allow you to add a logo to your reports. Appreciate the other portion of your idea on being able to edit the header and footer of a Projects report which is not possible atm - out of interest is there a specific projects report that you are running in relation to your idea here. This helps when sharing back with our product team.
