  1. When you invite an employee to xero me for the purpose of submitting their timesheet, there is a drop down menu for the payrate. In this drop down, it shows 'Self' payrate (the payrate of the person submitting the time sheet) and also 'Team' payrate, a list of all the different payrates of the company. Why would you want an employee to be able to see the different payrates of the team?

    This seems like a flaw in the system to me and an employee should only be able to see the payrate that applies to them.

  2. We use Xero Me to upload expenses incurred by our employees.

    When we "Select Customer or Project" (if projects enabled), all contacts are shown, not just "Customers" which can be a long list when you have customers and suppliers with similar names.

    Can the list be restricted to just customers?

  3. Please include the Sales Tax Exemption field as a column in the Contact csv template/import.

    The new auto tax feature appears to utilize this field, and having to go to each contact through Xero, one at a time, to edit and update this field is very time consuming. Too many clicks to update a field for every customer contact a client has.

    Tax affects all customers. It would be beneficial when rolling out new features such as this to consider what needs to be done to make such a feature truly work and be efficient. The ability to do mass…

  5. When you view a contact, and are on the activity view page, it would be great if the each line said what account the activity has been posted against. This way you could see all accounts impacted at once, and not have to click on each individual line item to see what account it is impacting.

  6. We often change email, name, address and recipients for the contacts we have in Xero. We always send an email from outlook to confirm, it would be REALLY useful if we could send an email from Contacts in Xero to confirm new contact details. Dear Customer, thank you for advising us your new contact details, this is what we have in our system now.. please check and come back to us if you would like to make further changes.. etc something like that.

Hi i can't believe you don't have a POS app tablets for use in cafes and shops. a quick google api for databasing while offline and it would be solid as. you only need to support a handful of thermal printers and cash draws. just look what vend is doing. it would be a huge product if deployed correctly

    Hi Douglas, while we don't have a POS app ourselves you'll find Xero integrates with many different POS solutions, including Vend. You can explore the range of these on our App store

    We don't have any immediate plans for expanding into this area atm, but we'll keep tracking the interest of this here and share if there's any plans made. Thanks

  9. My suggestions is that automated super should be available if a Xero package offers payroll, like the starter package and the Standard package - its near impossible for clients to make direct super payments for employees (even for business owners themselves) without using this feature.

    With the increases in subscriptions occurring in September I think an upgrade with automated super should be tabled for the lower subscription packages.

  10. So simple but not available. To record an absence i.e. sickness (unpaid) IN DAYS and to have a simple report showing dates and number of days sick.

  12. I am a New Zealand sole trader and contractor for a company. I submit a timesheet, and they generate a IRD approved Buyer Created Invoice. They send me my payment with GST added, and witholding tax deducted.

    There is no accurate way to extract the witholding tax from the final amount deposited to my account.

    But because Xero doesn't hold a high enough number of decimal places in the percentage field, the amounts are inaccurate by some cents each time. Which over the course of a year increases to a reasonable error.

  13. In the age of outsourcing, it is impossible to outsource pay run function to an external service provider (especially if they are based overseas) since they can view employee's personal info such as their Tax File Number, Date of Birth, Bank account Details etc.

    Once the subscriber or authorized accountant/bookkeeper has created an employee card, they should be able to restrict the access of outsourced partner to just doing the pay run. The outsourced partner should be able to just view the employee name to do the pay run. This feature should restrict their ability to change bank account details…

  14. Have the option to accrue leave on other pay items. ie. Saturday rate has to be set up with its own rate per employee as each employee is on their own rate for Saturday and isn't a "mutplication of the ordinary rate". This also needs leave to accrue on it.
    Spoken to Xero adviser and they don't have a set up for this yet.

As Payroll administrator, once I have opened a timesheet for a period, it would be great to have an employee selection box (similar to what is already in the Employees section of Payroll) so I can approve each timesheet on the open timesheet screen rather than having to go back to Timesheets and select the period and the next employee.

  18. Deposits on Sales and Purchases - will this ever be possible in Xero? The workarounds are fine if you have a few deposits to keep track of. But what if you have many? Like my Art Gallery client where most art is sold on a 'layby' system. The layby isn't recorded as a sale until it is fully paid. The customer makes multiple payments. There is no way to directly link the payments to a pending sale. They all coded on-mass into a prepayment liability account. The only way to keep track of payments is a spreadsheet which is time…

  19. When a report filter is selected, the filter should be displayed on the report that is displayed/printed. Eg if you use employee groups and you filter a payroll report by said group, the printed report should display the filter chosen
