New Invoicing - Make the History & Notes the same as in Classic Invoicing
Please leave the history of an invoice EXACTLY as it was in the classic invoicing.
The new invoicing doesn't show the invoice that it was copied from or copied to and this is very important as a trail.
I really don't understand why so many important features from the classic invoicing has been omitted.
OR
let your customers continue using the classic invoicing as they like
Hi everyone, as another step toward improving history of new invoicing you'll find you'll now see an entry when an invoice is sent, and the email address it has been sent to.
We appreciate this is something we've heard a fair amount of feedback on and we hope helps in your journey to using new invoicing.
We still have more enhancements on the way for history and I'll be back again when more updates land.

I have decided to trial your new invoicing for the 2nd time since Xero is now forcing us to... as you'll be removing classic invoicing at the end of the year... our whole team have trialled the new invoicing and we have all aborted as we do not like it and it SLOWS US DOWN! It certainly is NOT faster. When I review invoices, we have multiple documents attached to the invoice. I open all these to reconcile the invoice that has been drafted, before I can approve and send. The new invoicing system, opens each document up in a new tab. Classic invoicing has the pop up window and I can just click next for each view. Now I have to toggle between multiple tabs and work on two screens. It is slow and is adding at least 5min to each approval and we have LOADS of invoices. Your new system also does not keep track of who we emailed the invoice to. We have multiple departments per client and we like to refer to the prior invoice to see who we have emailed the invoice to. That log has not disappeared in history and notes. You have also removed the expected date button in history and notes as we add in another date before exiting out of the invoice. Now we have to go to awaiting approval and search for the invoice to add the date. This adds TIME. And there are a few clients that we have to manually send the invoice to, as their inboxes will not accept invoices sent from Xero due to security reasons. With the old system, we could mark the invoice as sent to show that we have sent it. The new system just reflects as not sent. Now we have to go into the invoice and manually check a box. I fear November as this system is CLUNKY. It's not streamlined.

Keep the Classic Invoicing New Invoicing is not faster & is missing key features that classic has!

Need the time stamp on History & Notes. We have lost this function on the New Invoicing!! Also need to see who the email was sent to! We use this function ALOT.

I totally agree with this, we have the same problem. We have copied and pasted details from the old system in the notes to the new system as we need these details and they are not give in the new system. Also when you email the invoice in the new system it just says sent. The old system says who its been sent to. I think the new system is more time consuming and has lost a lot of it's really useful features.

New invoicing is s***! Classic invoicing is far, far better. At least give your customers an option.

History no longer displays a timestamp just a date, so you have no idea how far apart actions occurred. It can be incredibly frustrating when troubleshooting, especially when the timestamp data is available but is being concealed. Makes Xero sense!

I also agree with all previous comments re Classic being the better invoicing tool.
Extra frustration for me is that the 'calendar' has gone for the date of invoice so that now I have to go to a drop down menu & "choose another date" to get to it - 2 extra steps that weren't there! - Our business frequently has to date invoices to the week before, so this adds a lot of time on for me!
Also, the box for the GL code (like the product and other comments) does not show the full GL code description anymore - extremely frustrating when you are checking you've typed everything correctly before exiting out.
Finally, please go back to the 'grey' background - it was much easier to read the screen and see where everything was!

I really do not find this quicker than classic.
I too use text lines, cannot do this in new.
I too do not always send invoices to the contact email address, so seeing email address is a must.Adding a payment is difficult to locate maybe "approve & pay" needs to be added to drop down list.
Add the ability to choose which option shows first in the "approve & email" drop down list. 50% of our invoicing is paid before processing and not emailed.
I would prefer to use classic.

In the new invoicing system we will have these two issues:
a.- When the Invoice is approved is not possible to see the ITEM CODE, only the description. For a company with more than 1000 SKU's this is impossible to manage
b.- When one Draft Invoice can not be approved due to lack of stock, Classic Invoice shows you a list of all missing SKU's. The New System just shows you the first one found. -

YES, leave Classic as is.
I have a different problem. I require text entries on my invoices with no Amounts or Qtys in the line, so I can leave them blank.
In the new invoicing, it automatically populates all the boxes then throws up errors, can't be done.

Absolutely agree with this. The ability to see the sent email address is critical for our business as well as detailed notes to understand the history of the invoice. The abridged notes in the New Invoicing are almost useless for us!

+1 for this. A major thing that is missing for me with the new invoicing history layout is seeing the email address that an invoice was sent to. Now it just says it was sent, but not to who it was sent to. This has always been a really handy feature for us because sometimes we don't send the invoice to the default account department and it's handy when people say they didn't receive it to understand if we had a typo in the email address or if they're BSing us.
