  1. We would like Hubdoc to convert an uploaded Bank statement into a csv file.
    So as to easily import the data into Xero to reconcile new bank accounts prior to bank feed connection.

    Hello everyone, we want to let you know that we’ve recently released the ability to convert PDF bank statements into pre-formatted CSV files in Xero (Read more on our blog for more information).

    Currently, this feature is only available in the US and Canada. We know this tool will also be valuable to other regions and we'll be sure to update you with any new information about it becoming available globally.

    For now, we’ll move the status of this idea to ‘Under review’. So keep voting and give us your input on how this feature can benefit your workflow!

    Thanks for your input here, everyone. Our team is currently looking into adding a document merge feature into their roadmap. However, no dates are planned for when this will be implemented. 


    That said, we’ll move the status of the idea into ‘Under review’, so please continue to add your vote and give us your comment on how this feature can improve your workflow. 


    For now, you can merge your documents outside Hubdoc, then upload/email it into Hubdoc. Feel free to also share some options here on how you merge the documents before you put it into Hubdoc.

  3. Just a simple one!

    Next to the date of birth in Xero PM, could you do a little thingy so the age calculates and shows there?
    I've done my best Canva work in the attached to explain better!
    And chose my most favourite clients as an example :)

  4. Be able to edit sent document packs.

    Purpose: for when clients ask you to send the pack to a different email address or you want to rename the document pack, or add another document.

    Hi community, thanks for your support and sharing in the idea here. Diving into your comments, there are a few different ideas that we're picking up on within this one thread;

    1. ability to change the email address/contact of a sent pack
    2. ability to add additional documents to a sent pack, and
    3. the ability to edit metadata of a sent pack

    For the first, we'd like to better understand what is driving the need to change the email address?  is it down to a typo when entering it? or if its on a tax return, is it wrong on the client record etc?

    Although it's not possible to add additional documents to a pack right now, creating and sending a new document pack is essentially the same - Is there any reason this isn't suitable?

    Lastly, it'd be good to get more substance of how the ability to rename a pack…

  5. The current sync of "clients" from XPM to "contacts" of the practice Xero Blue file only updates when an invoice is sent across.

    Surely this could be made into an immediate sync, or at the very least an overnight sync?

    Given XPM doesn't integrate with a whole lot of software and doesn't integrate with Zapier, many add-ons practices use are linked with the Xero Blue file and require that data to be accurate. Debtor collection software for example, marketing software, etc, all require contact details to be accurate, and if clients change details, there can be a large delay before…

    Appreciate your feedback on the idea here. As a grounds to start from we thought it would help to confirm;

    • There is a two way sync of your clients between Practice Manager and your practice Xero organisation Contacts
    • The sync between XPM and your practice Xero organisation contacts is different - we’ve explained this more below


    Differences between Xero Practice Manager(XPM) and your practice Xero organisation sync

    • Client will sync with your organisation’s Contacts depending on your Xero connection setup - more on Xero Central
      • This is controlled by users with the Administrator role and can be set to ‘Never’, ‘Only when uploading invoices’ or ‘Every time client or supplier details are updated’
  6. When using Xero tax for sole trader self assessments, and importing the Xero sole trader accounts, it would be so useful to generate reports that don't include the balance sheet, i.e. it would be better if one could edit the reports according to an individual requirements/reporting needs.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your interest in this idea. Although we haven't enabled the option to exclude a balance sheet from sole trader accounts within Xero HQ we wanted to share this very exciting update with you. We recently released a direct import of the P&L from Xero onto the self-employment worksheet within Personal Tax, without the need to map the account codes and generate a set of sole trader accounts.

    Previously we only supported an import from Sole Trader Accounts to Personal Tax which for some of our partners involved an extra step, particularly for smaller clients who typically only receive Income & Expenditure accounts. We hope by adding this functionality that you will be able to maximise the more flexible reporting capabilities within Xero to produce accounts for sole traders.   7. I love the new Job Manager view where you can hide or show columns as you need. I would LOVE a column for comments. For example say a job is waiting for a client to send a particular document I'd love to be able to add that in that view. Or maybe that field could show the latest note made in that job. It woudl save us having to click into the job to see what was holding it up.

  8. This is not a simple feature request. This is a blatant fault with how Xero Tax handles asset figures.

    In this particular case we have two accounts in the book-keeping records for CIS tax, because we wish to track CIS deducted by contracted on sales and CIS deducted from subcontractors separately. Transfers are made between the accounts as appropriate when liabilities are reported for payment to HMRC.

    At the year end, we want to show this as a single balance. As the net result was an asset at the year end, we tagged both to an appropriate asset type. Instead…

    Appreciate your input here, everyone. Our team is aware of the challenges our partners are facing around the auto-reversal of negative balance. It’s on their roadmap to investigate and provide a better user experience.

    Hi everyone, we’ve made an update to reminders so you can now send multiple reminders at once - you can find out more about it 👉 here. We are hoping that this will reduce the time spent sending reminders for document packs. 

    We aren’t ruling out automated reminders in future though, so give it a go and let us know your thoughts!

  11. Currently if a tax letter email fails to send, for whatever reason, there is no email notification it failed to send. The system really needs to be enhanced so the person who sent the tax letter from XPM gets an email notification that the tax letter failed to send to that email address. Currently it is just blind faith that all letters are sent which is clearly not good.

    Our team is looking into this idea, however, they don't have any dates planned on when they’ll develop a notification to let you know whether a tax letter has failed to send. We understand that this feature is important so that you can be certain your clients have received their tax payment reminder letters.

  12. In personal tax there appears to be no provision to enter capital allowance for self employment in the form of a schedule which personal tax can keep year to year. This would help when writing down existing assets as well as adding and claiming for new assets differentiating the assets between main pool/special rate pool and assets with a personal use element to enter the percentage to apply.

    Hi everyone, Xero is committed to supporting the tracking of capital allowances claimed on capital expenditure. We understand how this will save with partners and remove manual tracking of written down allowances. At the moment we don't have confirmed date when this will be picked up, but as soon as we do we will let you know here.

  13. When preparing the statutory accounts in Xero Tax it would be great to have the feature to create your own "freeform note". For example, I need to add a secured debts note to the accounts however Xero does not currently provide this note amongst the list, therefore I need a freeform note where I can determine the heading and body of the note to feature in the notes to the financial statements. Currently the workaround is to declare the secured debts note as a line with the creditors which makes the presentation of the accounts weak.

    Hi team, reviewing this idea our team are exploring the possibility of adding the ability to add a number of Freeform Notes in some of the Financial statements for FRS102 1a as part of our plans to improve the Notes & Disclosures and offer greater flexibility.   14. Currently there is only the ability to enter 4 Directors names into the Report fields in 'Advanced accounting › Report fields and schedules'
    So when we run the advisor reports, on the Director Declaration's page we have to manually type in the extra directors.
    Can you increase the fields for more than 4 directors and even more than 4 partners.

    Thanks for engaging and sharing the idea here - Having a deeper read to interpret, there's the ability to add more client report fields that can be included in your report templates yourself (such as Director 5, Director 6 etc) - See detail in our help here.

    A couple of pointers to note, are;

    • ensure you have the Edit report templates permission, then
    • add the new client report fields at Xero HQ level first; this'll make them available to add in your Report templates. Then, add the names of the directors at the client level.

    We hope this helps you overcome the idea here, let us know if this doesn't quite accomplish what you're asking.

    Thanks for raising this idea, Abhaas. The tax adviser details will roll forward into the next year for each client, once added. But we totally understand that entering them in one place for all clients would be a big time saver.

    For full transparency, this is something we'd love to solve for you, but we currently are working on other items like importing HMRC data and supporting the SA107, so it isn't currently something that is planned right now.

    We definitely see the positives from auto-filling the tax adviser details so we'll continue to monitor interest in this idea and consider how this fits into our plans with making tax and practice management more integrated.

  17. Love Xero Tax for FRS105 but don't use it for FRS102 s1A accounts. Are there any plans to be able to select to include a SOIRE (not just a SOCE)? This is critical for a potential switchover to Xero Tax for these accounts for me.

  18. Remove the limitation on posting manual journal entries to bank/cash accounts. I end up spending way too much time on manual workarounds (payroll entries for example, you have to use a "bill" to replace the functionality of a journal entry). It ends up taking way more time working around the limitation than its worth. As a new user of Xero, I'm incredulous. I've worked with multiple accounting software platforms over the years, and never been exposed to such a massive limitation like this. It's almost a dealbreaker, and for some clients it certainly is.     Hi Scott, appreciate your feedback of what you find both good and limiting when using Xero. 

    When you mention the need to create manual journals to bank or cash accounts are there some common situations you find yourself needing this? 

    For the payroll transaction I wonder if bank rules could help identify and create the transaction in Xero for you, rather than having to enter this as a bill? 

    Bank rules and the use of spend and receive money through reconciliation may also be able to help for other scenarios too? 

  19. XPM does not cater for titles for non-binary individuals. We have an individual who is non-binary. Their title is MX. This is currently not an option that is available in the Title drop down menu. Can this be added by Xero please?

    Hi Heather, thanks for sharing here however do you mind sharing a little more what you mean when you're previewing 'returns' would this be within new invoicing, or bills? The preview option should open an invoice in the same window without having to download as a PDF?
