Income by contact Detailed report!
Income by contact Detailed report! to show all invoices, itemised that are on
1 voteLooks like your idea my have been cut off here, Oliver - Is there any more detail you'd like to share with this? While the Income by Contact report will show totals, you can easily click on an amount which will drill down to the contact activity for that period.

Login to Xero - Having trouble
I don’t want to leave feedback
1 voteHi Lee, I'd like to look into this for you. Could you share an image or give some detail of where you're going when trying to access Xero that's giving you a survey?

New invoicing - Add comments and signature to invoices
Would it be possible to be able to have the ability to add comments or a signature to an invoice to allow the user / approver to see that an invoice has been approved or where it is required to be coded?
This could be at the Hubdoc or Xero stage of the process.
The comments may also reference particular details around the what the invoice actually relates to. ie. new engine for a truck. A comment would allow you to make note of what truck and the rego number.
2 votesHi Melissa, the history & notes of an invoice could be used for this. There'll be an entry when the invoice is approved and who approved it, and if extra notes are required this could be added as a note to the history of the invoice. Does this suffice for what you're after?

Report for direct debits
I would suggest that Xero should provide direct debits from all your accounts in one report.
1 voteHi Komal, just to make sur we understand the idea here properly. When you say you'd like a report of all direct debits, is this where you've made a direct debit payment for bills? Or where you have customers that may be on direct debit payments with your business?

For a business needing to invoice based on a percentage share, it would be useful to have an additional column that calculates thepercentage
For a business needing to invoice based on a percentage share (eg horse racing syndicate), it would be useful to have an additional column to calculate the percentage of the full amount.
A fix I have used is to apply a discount of 100- the share percentage but it would be more professional to have a percentage column.1 voteHi Anne, the discount column in new invoicing can be used as an amount of % discount. To apply this as a percentage you would simply add the '%' symbol in the field. Does doing this help with what you're asking here?

Insert Property field on Activity
It would be a great help if you could insert a field into the activity page which includes the property address that the invoice is for, so that this would be clear which property the invoice relates to rather than having to go into each invoice to see which property it is for.
2 votesHi Angela, trying to better understand your idea here. When you mention 'property' is this a tracking category that you've set up in your organisation?

Manual Journal Report with Details
A report for strictly manual journals that would show ID, Narration, accts, etc, or the ability to filter manual journals in the current journal report.
3 votesHi Brenda, there is the ability to filter by many of the column in the current Journal report. Or is it a different detail you'd like to be able to filter by in this?

Xero Tax (UK) | Prepare sole trader accounts on cash basis
Ability to create sole trader accounts on the cash basis to pull through to tax returns.
5 votesHi Claire, thanks for your interest in this idea. Although we haven't enabled the option to exclude a balance sheet from sole trader accounts within Xero HQ we wanted to share this very exciting update with you. We recently released a direct import of the P&L from Xero onto the self-employment worksheet within Personal Tax, without the need to map the account codes and generate a set of sole trader accounts.
Previously we only supported an import from Sole Trader Accounts to Personal Tax which for some of our partners involved an extra step, particularly for smaller clients who typically only receive Income & Expenditure accounts. We hope by adding this functionality that you will be able to maximise the more flexible reporting capabilities within Xero to produce accounts for sole traders. This new feature is not simply an import either, it also supports cash-basis, allows you to manage the…

Xero Tax (UK) | Prevent the auto-reversal of negative balances so we can offset debtors and creditors where necessary
This is not a simple feature request. This is a blatant fault with how Xero Tax handles asset figures.
In this particular case we have two accounts in the book-keeping records for CIS tax, because we wish to track CIS deducted by contracted on sales and CIS deducted from subcontractors separately. Transfers are made between the accounts as appropriate when liabilities are reported for payment to HMRC.
At the year end, we want to show this as a single balance. As the net result was an asset at the year end, we tagged both to an appropriate asset type. Instead…
48 votesAppreciate your input here, everyone. Our team is aware of the challenges our partners are facing around the auto-reversal of negative balance. It’s on their roadmap to investigate and provide a better user experience.
For the time being, I’ll move this idea into ‘Under review’ status. And when there's movement, we'll make sure to come back here and let you all know. -
Personal Tax (UK) | Tick boxes to show which sections have been completed
Have the option to have a tick box to show a section as completed, as if you have to leave a return part completed and then return to it, (which could be nearly 2 months later) as you have requested additional information, you have to go through it all again to check what you have done whereas a tick box would show which has been done and save you some time.
3 votesThank you for raising this idea, Ruth. Our Product team can definitely see the benefits of adding support for this. As you will know personal tax has some permanent schedules (Client details, Attachments etc). Would you only expect to have the completed tracking against the schedules that are added or the permanent schedules as well?

XPM - Comment field in Job Manager view
I love the new Job Manager view where you can hide or show columns as you need. I would LOVE a column for comments. For example say a job is waiting for a client to send a particular document I'd love to be able to add that in that view. Or maybe that field could show the latest note made in that job. It woudl save us having to click into the job to see what was holding it up.

Personal Tax (UK) - Tax adviser details
Ability to auto-fill tax adviser details for all clients (as agents) rather than manually adding the details for each tax return/year.
11 votesThanks for raising this idea, Abhaas. The tax adviser details will roll forward into the next year for each client, once added. But we totally understand that entering them in one place for all clients would be a big time saver.
For full transparency, this is something we'd love to solve for you, but we currently are working on other items like importing HMRC data and supporting the SA107, so it isn't currently something that is planned right now.
We definitely see the positives from auto-filling the tax adviser details so we'll continue to monitor interest in this idea and consider how this fits into our plans with making tax and practice management more integrated.

NZ Tax Letters - Notification when Tax Letter email fails to send
Currently if a tax letter email fails to send, for whatever reason, there is no email notification it failed to send. The system really needs to be enhanced so the person who sent the tax letter from XPM gets an email notification that the tax letter failed to send to that email address. Currently it is just blind faith that all letters are sent which is clearly not good.
28 votesOur team is looking into this idea, however, they don't have any dates planned on when they’ll develop a notification to let you know whether a tax letter has failed to send. We understand that this feature is important so that you can be certain your clients have received their tax payment reminder letters.
We are monitoring your feedback and votes here, so please keep adding them in this thread. For the time being, I’ll move this idea into ‘Under review’ status, and if there's any movement, we'll make sure to come back and update you here.

Comparative on all reports
On the first page where you can select to have comparative or only current year showing, option to tick and apply to all reports – would be handy for first year clients where they don’t have comparatives, instead of updating on every report
2 votesSorry Zoe, just trying to understand the page you're referring to here - When you say 'on the first page', is this within a specific report that you're running at present?
Are there particular reports you'd find most useful to add comparatives too? Thanks

new title mx
XPM does not cater for titles for non-binary individuals. We have an individual who is non-binary. Their title is MX. This is currently not an option that is available in the Title drop down menu. Can this be added by Xero please?
3 votesThanks for sharing your idea here, Tanya. To check would this be for a client or staff's details? Just want to make sure we're sharing back with the right product team.

Xero HQ | Report Templates - Increase number of Director & Partner fields
Currently there is only the ability to enter 4 Directors names into the Report fields in 'Advanced accounting › Report fields and schedules'
So when we run the advisor reports, on the Director Declaration's page we have to manually type in the extra directors.
Can you increase the fields for more than 4 directors and even more than 4 partners.12 votesThanks for engaging and sharing the idea here - Having a deeper read to interpret, there's the ability to add more client report fields that can be included in your report templates yourself (such as Director 5, Director 6 etc) - See detail in our help here.
A couple of pointers to note, are;
- ensure you have the Edit report templates permission, then
- add the new client report fields at Xero HQ level first; this'll make them available to add in your Report templates. Then, add the names of the directors at the client level.
We hope this helps you overcome the idea here, let us know if this doesn't quite accomplish what you're asking.

Xero Tax (NZ) | Include [Payment] Payment Since Approved [START] field in Tax Payment letters awaiting approval report
TAX - Payment letters awaiting approval report in XPM to include [Payment] Payment Since Approved [START] field
1 voteHi Debbie, the 'waiting approval' report only contains unapproved letters. And the field you've references would only contain payments 'since approval' so even if included, would always be 0.00.
Could you share a little detail of any underlying pain point you're looking for this idea to help you solve? It'd help in sharing back with the team and considering how this could be tackled. Thanks!

Personal Tax (UK) | Add ability to track capital allowances
In personal tax there appears to be no provision to enter capital allowance for self employment in the form of a schedule which personal tax can keep year to year. This would help when writing down existing assets as well as adding and claiming for new assets differentiating the assets between main pool/special rate pool and assets with a personal use element to enter the percentage to apply.
19 votesHi everyone, Xero is committed to supporting the tracking of capital allowances claimed on capital expenditure. We understand how this will save with partners and remove manual tracking of written down allowances. At the moment we don't have confirmed date when this will be picked up, but as soon as we do we will let you know here.

Xero tax (UK) | Sole Trader Accounts - Ability to generate a report without a balance sheet
When using Xero tax for sole trader self assessments, and importing the Xero sole trader accounts, it would be so useful to generate reports that don't include the balance sheet, i.e. it would be better if one could edit the reports according to an individual requirements/reporting needs.
71 votesHi everyone, thanks for your interest in this idea.
