This would be a huge asset to include with hubdoc and level up with competitors

A really good idea and upgrade but lost in the noise of distraction. No prizes for guessing what they are distracted with current flow

I tried the projects function on Xero is awful. It seems to be such a Mickey mouse function that isn't slick at all. Ie raising journals for wages. I still work with tracking categories and keeping the active projects to a minimum so we can use double entry as you should with reporting of the P&L and transactions per tracking category. Otherwise Xero is great and definitely beats sage 50 and Quickbooks for sure.

cant believe this is not something that is already sorted.

We are just starting to use projects in Xero which will save us time in our project analysis and further time would be saved if we could allocate costs via bills that come through Hubdoc.

Seems ridiculous that we need to double-handle bills from Hubdoc and then approve to a Project in Xero. We are working from remote sites sending in bills / expenses that we then have to re-enter for the projects.

Xero Projects

Idea is to be able to reconcile bills into a specific project through hub Doc, if there was a line item under customers in Hub doc as projects this would then allow you to link a bill Stright to a project without:

1. Having to publish bill in hub doc
2. reconcile bill in Xero
3. Open and edit bill in Xero just to assign it to a project.
4. Find a bill in projects.
5. assign bill to estimate.

This idea would simplify the whole process and instead of a five-step process it would on be Two.

This is an essential addition to Hubdoc for Xero Project users. It is very counter-intuitive to publish an expense in Hubdoc and then open the expense in Xero to assign it to a project. We need this for sure!

Entering a transaction in Hubdoc and then needing to modify it in Xero to add the project is a bit ridiculous. This is a feature required for every company using projects.

Xero Projects is not integrated with Hubdoc, and therefore, expenses cannot be allocated to a specific project from Hubdoc. If the client has a lot of bills to process, they can't be changed manually once posted in Xero. Heaps of extra and unnecessary work. It could work as same as it works with tracking categories.

We are willing to pay $10 extra per user each month to use projects, so the least we can get is a full integration.

Would save us the time to go then into Xero to add

It would be great to have an update on this as it is a determining factor to using Xero projects. I am turning clients away from using Xero projects when the process is not streamlined from the bill entry through to projects. They are using other products. Is there an ETA on this as a change? Dear Xero Team, this idea has been shared 3 years ago, there seems to be a considerable interest in this, and yet nothing at all has happened. I do understand that there are a lot of feature requests and that not all of them can be actioned, but this really is a critical feature for Hubdoc/Xero Projects users as it is an immense waste of time to have to go back into Xero bills to allocate each transaction to Projects. Could we please have some response if this feature will be rolled out at some stage? Thanks!

With the finish of workflowmax as project management tool next year, we are starting to roll our Xero projects as an alternative and being able to have accounting/ admin staff allocate project expenses to a project at the time they are coding in hubdoc is critical. Having to go back into Xero to do it there makes the whole hubdoc function questionable. It should be easy enough to inport this ability into hubdoc, its able to see our chart of accounts, our tracking categories etc but WHY NOT PROJECTS?
