I share that sentiment and a lot more. I have spent months of valuable time, and cancelled a trip to France 3 times literally, to get this software up and running, and even so, I am still running into issues that are literally nonsense. The use of the nomenclature "spend money" as opposed to "purchases" as if that is somehow normal, would be funny except for the pitfalls it creates, the effective inability to cut checks, is part of a scheme to get kickbacks from Bill.com, oh I forget they are the ex now, wouldn't pay enough I suppose, is a huge concern. What else will they try to monetize at my expense. And all these worthless training videos that are shallow and 90% marketing, rather than a serious onboarding operation that I would gladly have paid for. I know all this now! The projects is just another one of these things -- that they seem totally unwilling to address and its huge.

I had to quit Hubdoc - I now just email all supplier invoices to draft bills (annoyingly credit notes still don’t work this way) most information is then pre filled and it appears they are also introducing line item extraction from April! From the same screen it can be allocated straight to the corresponding project. This is the best work around I found - Not sure if that’s a better option for anyone!

All the requests from Xero regarding the extra paid Projects module are being ignored. Without the right usability projects module is absolutely useless.
Soon I'm going to remove that module, because Xero is not willing to take action, and simply work based on number of votes. Very much disappointed with Xero team.

Hubdoc already connects to a catagory and a customer adding a project would seem to be a very simple process. One of the reasons I opted for Xero over competitors was it was supposed to take a purchase from walking out the door to the finish line, it almost does that, but 90% of a bridge doesn't go very far. The difference between making this happen easily, and making it more difficult is huge. Not enough attention paid to this sort of thing by team Xero, except when they are trying to make it difficult to mail payments by check -- yes that is intentional, because they are getting kickbacks from Bill.com and its successors.

Please link Hubdoc with Xero Projects. Hubdoc is useless to me without the ability to allocate an expense invoice to a Project in Xero.

Unfortunately, Xero's Project module is not even integrated with it's own platform - When generate Project reports, can't view Coded Accounts and are not linked to assigned transaction, unlike the rest of the reports.
IF possible vote and support for below post, I think first step for Hubdoc integration is to have the integration within the platform to generate better reports, apply filters. This is quite unfortunate, we have to upgrade our package for a very lower quality poorly built module. Outcome of my queries with the customer support is that they can't promise the changes will happen. Really disappointed with Xero.

What is stopping Hubdocs/Xero make the projects module compatible? I pay for the projects module, but dont see why you'd have a module that is not compatible with other functions.
I am trying to streamline our processes, but this lack of functionality makes it more time consuming.

PLEASE add the ability to allocate a project in hubdoc. It is so time consuming to enter a bill in hubdoc, then find it in xero, click into it again, select allocate to a project - tick the invoice, search the project to allocate it to, click assign, then click ok! SO many steps to allocate a single bill to a project. This is extremely time consuming when you have multiple projects/trade accounts that you need to allocate on the daily. PLEASE add project allocation to hubdoc.

agree there should be some interaction between the two to make Projects more effective

Agree on this, this is a critical feature which has hindered the effective use of hubdoc.

This is a critical integration requirement otherwise I won't be able to use hubdoc! What is the latest progress on this please?

There needs to be a link from Hubdoc to projects

Glad I found this thread. It's frustrating to invest the time and energy in adopting Xero, then Hubdocs, then to discover that it lacks integrations like this that small business owners need. I don't want to piece together a bunch of disparate tools and upgrades only to find out that we're committed to a solution that doesn't work. This has prompted me to give Quickbooks a trial run before I decide whether to upgrade to Xero Project.

Agree with all the comments below! Very fiddly to use Xero projects unless it is integrated with Hubdoc - opens up too much room for error in tracking project costs.

Not only hubdoc but expenses also would be handy to link to projects.

Without this feature Hubdoc becomes useless and more time consuming when operating using Xero Projects as I have to submit in Hubdoc and then go into Xero and amend each transaction

Xero Projects is completely useless without this feature. Hubdoc is heavily promoted with Xero, but if you are using projects you have to either enter invoices in manually - which is time wasting, or you have to push through hubdoc and then edit and assign to a project. I have just had a client from QBO, who i convinced to come across to Xero, who has just gone back to QBO, simply because of this feature. critical issue
