XPM - Merge clients
It would be helpful to merge clients in XPM where two accounts have been created (different names) and tax returns filed under each one. For example a client entered under their maiden name and married name who have filed tax returns. In our case a duplicate was accidently created when doing the return and we have no way to now shift the tax return to the correct and active client account in XPM.

Thanks for feedback Dale, but this is in regard to merging duplicate clients in XPM not in HQ.

Not sure if this is useful but to merge 2 clients go to Xero HQ and when not in the Duplicates List for Review then search the client, click on the checkboxes for the 2 clients needing to be merged and then merge like you would as if on the Duplicates List.

We had an existing XPM database for iRet's which got abolished. When we migrated from MYOB, a second client record was created. It would benefit everyone greatly if client records could be merged so that ITR's and previous jobs can stick with the 1 client.
Also, the system should identify when a TFN and ABN have previously been used in the system in order to prevent future duplications.

I totally agree too. I've had the case where a duplicate client has been created in XPM and invoices have started going from Blue Xero to XPM to the duplicated one in error.

In previous software I have used it will not allow you to add the same IR number to multiple clients - This would solve this problem
