AU Tax- Inbuilt worksheet to calculate the number of days not liable for the medicare levy surcharge
Xero Tax(AU) | Worksheet to calulate number of days not liable for M2 (Medicare levy surcharge)
When some client has more than 1 health insurance policy and the period of the same are diffrent and sometime overlapping we need the work out this manually which can sometime be wrongly caluclated and can impact the tax estimates.
Xero should have a worksheet where we can enter policy details along with perioid of coverage to that it can calculae the days acurately. Similar feature is avaialble in MYOB AO and comes in very handy.

XPM notes made in Tax Statements & Payments need indicator & roll forward option
For notes made in Tax Payments: these need to be split into 2 areas, (1) notes pertaining to that provisional installment and, (2) notes that will continue to roll forward.
It is crucial that even if the installment date has passed, the notes are still visible. Also from the main Tax Payments screen we need an indicator on the client row to show that the client has an active note (with the ability to archive a note as well).

AU Tax - Non Depreciable asset to roll forward
Currently in Xero Tax, non-depreciable assets entered into the rental schedule do not roll forward into future income tax returns (ITRs), creating unnecessary manual data entry and inconsistency.
Suggested improvement: Add support to roll forward non-depreciable assets (such as land) within the rental schedule when generating the next year’s return to maintain asset continuity and save time.

Invoice Templates by Client Type
It would be really helpful if invoice templates could adjust automatically based on client type, instead of having to create and assign multiple templates manually.
For example:
1. Individuals and Partnerships would include the 'Attention' field, but not include the 'Contact Name' field
2. Company invoices would include the 'Attention' field, but not the 'Contact Name' field
3. Trusts, SMSFs, and Charities would include both the 'Attention' field and the 'Contact Name' fieldThis would save time, reduce errors, and ensure invoices are always addressing the legal entity correctly for each client type.
Thanks for considering this improvement!

Hubdoc - Attach multiple documents when publishing from Hubdoc
It would be fantastic to attach more than one file when publishing from Hubdoc to Xero! Often bills come with supporting documentation, such as contracts and/or receipts. It would be great to be able to attach these, as well as the original bill to be published.
Thanks!

XPM - Sync updated client information via Xero to the ATO Portal
It would be good if we could update client info changes such as change of address or bank account changes directly in Xero that would then update on the ATO Portal. Having used this in another accounting package, it is an extremely efficient process that make sure the client info is updated at both sites. Making these changes directly through the ATO portal gives no (or very little) audit trail.
11 votesHi Jo, thanks for sharing this great idea for improving practice efficiency. We understand how valuable a better audit trail and a more streamlined process would be for keeping client details up-to-date.

AU Tax - Improve the validation error experience
I had a validation error CMN.ATO.DISTBENTRT.000013 generated in an SMSF tax return.
When I clicked on the validation error it took me to a specific trust income schedule (number 10 of 18), which had several fields highlighted. The error says that there must be a number in any of the fields A B D U and so on - this schedule met this condition.
After much wasted time trying to re-enter fields, checking there were no blank spaces, deleting and re-entering all fields, deleting and re-entering the whole schedule, I contacted support.
It turns out the error was actually generated…20 votesHi Vicki, we're grateful for your detailed suggestion of how to improve the validation error linking and highlighting experience in AU Tax.
We'll continue to monitor the level of support this idea receives from the community. Thanks again for your contribution.

Practice Manager - Audit trail for client history
Client History
It would be great to have a running record of client history in XPM, showing the date and person who, including but not limited to:
- created the client
- edited client details
- archived client
In a large firm over multiple offices, it would be easier to know who to contact if there are questions about details are entered into XPM, and keep XPM as a CRM up to date.294 votesHi everyone, we appreciate your involvement and sharing the different aspects of activity on clients history that'd be useful, and how this'd help your workflows. While we do believe this to be a valuable feature, that we may look to develop in the future, this isn't something we've been able to prioritise against other work right now. We'll continue to keep tracking and review this idea. If there is any change that'll impact you here we'll let you know.

Xero Tax - New Tab for All NON Lodged
Xero Tax should have another Tab to View ALL NON Lodged.
Right now you have to go to Draft, Completed, Approved, To Sign, To File - that's 5 tabs to see which returns and BAS are not yet lodged. All tab includes Filed. There needs to be a tab where you can view All Non Lodged excluding Filed.6 votesThanks for sharing your idea.

UK Tax - For CT600 box 326 to be left blank but be a compulsory field
I think to reduce the risk of associated companies not being included in the CT600 in error box 326 should be left blank by Xero but compulsory so that that the return can not be generated without it.
The same warning you get if trying to complete without boxes 975.7 votesThanks, Gemma, for sharing your idea! We've reviewed it, and it's now live for the community to support. Other Xero users can now vote and comment on how it would improve their Xero experience.

Salutation
View salutation or an alternate name field
As many clients are addressed by a different name other than their legal/birth name, it would be helpful to be able to view their salutation, or an alternate name, in the contact section of the client, without having to go into the contact to see this information.3 votesHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. NZ Tax - edit bulk email addresses
Please reinstate the ability to edit email addresses under the bulk email function under Tax > Payments. Depending on the type of tax notice, we have to send a tax notice to a staff member and copy in an additional person. It will not allow us to enter in a second email address under the client profile. This is very time consuming if we have to send it out twice and inefficient.

UK Tax - SA100 - Change personal tax allowance
When filing an SA100, allow us to change the Personal allowance of the client to match their actual tax code, so the return can be filed correctly. Currently on the generic tax code is catered for, and this doesn’t account for people who have different tax codes.

Xero HQ fixed assets - Lookup to ATO Effective Life
In the Fixed Assets module, it would be helpful to have the option to link to the ATO's Effective Life tables when adding a new asset. This feature would allow users to search for the Effective Life of an asset. It should also be possible to overwrite this value, allowing you to input a different number of years if they choose to self-assess. Having access to the ATO's guidance would be extremely helpful.

Hubdoc - Mark purchases as Paid once reconciled in Xero
When the transaction is reconciled to a Bill that's been uploaded from HubDoc in Xero, it should mark the document as Paid in HubDoc. (Google's AI-generated answer says that this happens, but it doesn't on my account). That way it would be much easier to see in HubDoc which items still aren't reconciled
Specifically, if a document is
1) published as "Purchased, Awaiting Payment", and published to Xero
2) that bill is then reconciled to a transaction in Xero, so that bill is shown as Paid and linked to Hubdoc
3) then when viewing the document in Hubdoc, "Mark as…7 votesHi Mark, thanks for this excellent and clearly detailed suggestion.
We understand the workflow you're proposing: when a bill from Hubdoc is reconciled in Xero, its status should automatically sync back and be marked as 'Paid' in Hubdoc.
We're grateful for your engagement and for letting us know the changes that matter to you.

Hubdoc - Keep email text with the receipts.
When emailing receipts to Hubdoc, anything written in the email title or body should stay with the receipt. Currently, Hubdoc turns one email into 2 uploads. One upload is the email. One upload is the receipt. It is nearly impossible to know which email matches which receipt. The result is that important documentation is lost. For example, my clients often email a receipt to Hubdoc for meals and they write who was present at the meal and the business purpose into the email's title or body. Those details are required by the IRS but the current Hubdoc system does not…
