Invoice - Drag and drop files directly into list view to attach
It would be great if you were able to drop a pdf into an invoice from the list view without having to open the said invoice / bill.
1 voteHi Melissa, thanks for bringing this up. It’s clear that when you’re processing a high volume of invoices, having to open each one individually to attach a file can slow things down.
One option for now is to upload documents into the Files inbox first and then assign them to the relevant invoice. While this can help streamline part of the process, we understand that being able to drag and drop attachments directly from the list view would make document management much more efficient.
As we allow one idea per post to ensure support is tracked accurately, if you’d also like to see this functionality extended to Bills, please feel free to raise that as a separate idea so it can gather its own votes and feedback.

Homepage - Add a dedicated "Income in Advance" widget
Would be good to be able to see prepayments/income in advance account on homepage so you can see deposits that are in.
1 voteHi everyone, thanks for bringing this idea to the community! Having an “Income in Advance” widget right on the dashboard would give you an instant view of your future revenue, helping you see your financial position without extra clicks.
At the moment, this usually means running specific reports or manually calculating deferred income, which can slow down your daily workflow. In the meantime, you can run the Cash Flow Manager, which shows projected cash in and out, or keep a starred Balance Sheet or custom tracking report in your Favorites for quicker access.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how helpful this visibility would be for managing cash flow.

Homepage - Add a global "Items to Reconcile" alert bar at the top of the Dashboard
The new Dashboard can be huge and challenging to navigate if you have multiple bank accounts. It will be helpful to have a section with ALERTS at the top of the page.
1 voteHi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion! We can see how having the "Items to Reconcile" alerts visible while scrolling would make daily bookkeeping faster and more seamless. It’s all about helping you stay on top of your work without extra clicks or screen-jumping.
For now, you can use the 'Bank Accounts' widget or the Tasks widget to see if there's any items to be reconciled, but we know a persistent global bar would make this even easier.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support to get more perspective from the community, so we can show our product teams the value this would bring.

Homepage - Widget to view a List of recently entered invoices
A widget to quickly locate "most recent invoices put in system".
We use Xero in our retail store and sometimes we end up DOUBLING up invoices for one order (paperwork is picked up by another helpful person to put in, but has already been put in).
Also good for tracking daily invoices/orders placed. Thanks,
- Merlin B.1 voteGood to know the different elements that our customers find would help them rom the Homepage, Merlin. We'll continue to get a sense of the interest in this here.
For the time being just to make sure you're aware - The History & notes report is probably most useful to you atm for getting a view of this. You'll be able to run the report for an individual all or users across your organisation and can filter to select only Invoice for Type. Once run if you type 'Created in the search box this'll further zone into just the invoice created by the selected users with in the date range. 🙂

Dashboard - Option to link Account Watchlist to Balance Sheet
From the watchlist for chart of accounts I would prefer the link go to the balance sheet, not the full chart of accounts.

Users - Show number of days for 'Last Signed In' in the previous year
The 'Last Signed In' date on the homepage is a bit misleading when in the situation where you signed in before the Xmas break, and then signed in again in the new year. Currently the way it handles this 'Last signed in 1 year ago' makes it sound like you haven't signed in for 12 months.
I think a better solution here would be if it just said x days ago

Homepage - Add and remove columns to widgets
So I can filter and view the information how I want to see it rather than using reports.
1 voteHi everyone, thanks for raising this. It’s clear that the information people want to see in homepage widgets varies a lot. For some, the invoice reference is key; for others it’s the due date or the contact. Being able to choose which columns appear would make these widgets far more useful for quick daily checks.
Right now, if the detail you need isn’t shown in the widget, you have to leave the homepage and open the full Invoices or Bills list, or run a relevant report just to confirm. That takes away from the idea of the homepage being a true at-a-glance view.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can understand demand for more flexible homepage widgets. If there’s a specific column you rely on every day, call it out in the comments — that will be useful to us.

Invoicing – Integrated Job Planning and Approval
Create a buisness planner to plan your work force to a job site with costings for the job all on the app , when the job is marked as finished the invoice gets marked as ready to send requiring approval without the extra admin of retyping everything out its all there and nothing is lost track off. You could plan lorrys from it too would be a huge competetive edge.
1 voteHi Mark, we hear you—having work and invoicing more connected could make things feel smoother and help reduce the chance of missing items.
Some people use Xero Projects to track time and expenses against a job and bring those details into invoices. Another approach is the Quote to Invoice flow: you can raise a quote when a customer requests a job, mark it as accepted once they agree to the price, and then, when the job is complete, copy the quote to an invoice. This automatically populates invoice fields with the information from the quote, helping save time and reduce manual entry.
You can try these approaches in the Demo Organisation to see how they might work for your workflow.
This idea has been moved to Gaining Support, and we’d love to hear from others about which parts of your workflow you’d most like to see more connected.

Bank Reconciliation - Show number of lines 'Auto-reconciled' since last login
Add the number of transactions that have been auto reconciled (since last login) for each bank account so that we need to check the auto reconciled transactions rather than think that there is nothing to reconcile. Now we have to drill down into each account to check if there was anything and this takes longer than reconciling the transactions in the first place, making it easier to turn off the auto reconcilie functionality.
1 voteHi Kathy, a quick “recap” of what’s happened while you were away could be really useful—especially when automation is handling a lot of the work, it’s reassuring to have that confirmation without having to dig through transactions.
For now, you can review all reconciled statement lines via “View all reconciled” from the last date you previously checked. It does take manual effort to remember the exact date, but it’s a practical workaround for now.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support, and it’d be great to hear from you and others about how you’d use a summary feature—your examples really help the team understand its potential impact.

Homepage - Cash in/out Graph ability to set longer period
Currently this only shows over a 12 month period when in all cases I'd like to see how well each customer or supplier has performed against the same month last year.
At worst could this not simply be a 15 month graph (as if it were 13 then the previous month/previous year would drop of when everything was in by the beginning of the following month?
- at best could you select filters to compare even the past 3 years by month etc...
7 votesWe appreciate the feedback on having more controls over the period of the cash in and out widget.
With the rollout of the new Homepage underway our product teams have a close ear to the ground of feedback and I'll be sure to update if there is any changes planned for the periods of this widget here.

Homepage - Add a tracker for deadlines (such as tax due dates)
I would like to set and track deadline dates on the dashboard for each client relating to statutory and other submissions (i.e. provisional tax / monthly management reports / tax return submissions / etc.).
59 votesHi everyone, appreciate the tractions on this idea.
It's clear that having key tax and compliance dates visible on the dashboard would make it much easier to plan ahead and ensure due dates are met. When those deadlines live outside of Xero, it can mean extra admin and more mental load than necessary.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can capture interest and share with the product team how valuable this added visibility would be.

Homepage - Monthly Profit and Loss Graph
The ability to add a monthly Profit and Loss Graph to the dashboard. This feature was available in my old accounting software (Wave Accounting).
8 votesHi team, thanks for the feedback we've received on this idea. We'd like to highlight that on the new homepage, you'll find Net Profit & Loss is a widget, on the widget you'll find there are a few different date selections.
I appreciate this doesn't quite achieve the monthly comparative as shown in the screenshot and we'll continue to keep this idea open for votes and share if there are improvements planned.
