New Homepage - Loading
The new Homepage won't load until looking at the tab; then takes ages to load.
When I am working in a client file (or even my own), I frequently open multiple Xero pages in new tabs so they can load while I am working on the current page. (Draft bills is one example of this. My clients would need to pay me at least triple for the time I would take if I had to do them one at a time.) When I am done with a tab I close it, and I click into the next tab and continue working at my usual pace.
I have been using the same process for those of my clients have been migrated over to the new Homepage layout. While in another tab, I will open the home page in a new tab (usually by holding CTRL while I click on the link), and there is movement on the top of the tab which looks like the page is loading. However when I click into that new Homepage tab, it opens a blank page, takes a beat, then seems to realise "Oh, You're here! Let me get that data ready for you. Won't be a moment..." [spoiler; it will be a moment] and then the widgets load one by one.
I HATE that the page doesn't load until I'm looking at the tab, and then I have to wait an reasonable amount of time until it shows everything. And then - like everyone already said - the page is quite literally a headache to look at for any client who has more than 2 bank accounts (ie, all of them). None of this feels like a win to me.
If the new layout has extra data that takes longer to load, why doesn't it do that in the background when I first click the link to open the Homepage in a new tab? Why does it wait?
Before you ask, no - this is not an issue with my computer or my internet connection. I am working with Chrome Version 144.0.7559.110 (Official Build) (64-bit), if that matters.
None of the other pages in these clients' Xero Files are behaving this way. The newer format pages do take longer to load than the old ones, which can be annoying, but at least they will still load in new tabs in the background so I can keep moving through my task list and be confident the page will have loaded by the time I get to it.
The Homepage waits to load until I am looking at that tab. Every. Single. Time.

Appreciate the feedback and am sorry to here the loading troubles you're mentioning here, Karen. I'd recommend raising a case with our Xero Support team so we can take a closer look and deeper dive into this to see if there is anything we can do to help with your experience.
