Don't change the home page
Keep the old version. Why do you want to mimic Quick Books?
I really hate these changes and I don't think I'm alone!

New Home Page Feedback
Not a fan of the new home page, previous one was so much better, simple yet effective. I would much prefer to stay on the old one for good. The icons/widgets on the new page are too big and too busy. Previous page was simple and easy to navigate. As they say, don't fix something that isn't broken.

However I want to be open that the new homepage will permanently become the new experience over this year. We don't accept ideas for the removal of new features, but are very open to hearing what changes you feel could better your experience of the new homepage - please feel free to start a new idea if there are other particular changes you feel could improve this experience for you.

Stop fussing about appearance and improve functionality
Every time you change the homepage I feel really frustrated, because you are not making the functional changes to improve usability. Specifically allocating multiple overpayments in sales. There are so many good ideas and you just tweak the appearance.

Our new homepage aims to empower our customers to see the business’s true performance at a glance and tackle the most important tasks, quicker. We will continue to develop on this to further improve the experience.
We understand there are ideas that you'd like to see developed that may not be in focus right now - please know your contributions in product ideas is valued. Our product teams are highly engaged with the feedback and support in these forums. Last year alone we delivered solutions for over 280 ideas that had been raised by our community here.

Delay the mandatory switch-over
The new homepage is being shown as mandatory from Feb. 16th. Before then we can switch back, but the wording suggests we'll be locked into the new homepage from this date.
This date needs to be delayed until all major issues are fixed. This includes issues with layout, fixed column counts, scrambling widgets on multiple sized monitors/screens/browsers, etc. There are also many other feedback points in this forum which highlight usability concerns.
NB: Some of the concerns looked to have been addressed, and tweaks are obviously being made, but it's still not in a usable state for a mandatory switch…

How about not changing something that is not broken
There’s no reason to change something that works. Effort should instead be directed toward fixing the items that are broken and remain unresolved — such as the inability to trace billable expenses once an invoice has been posted, and the inconsistent text line spacing on the invoice screen. I've made sure to add your vote to existing ideas we have for; creating a link between a bill and invoice a billable expense is assigned to, and being able to set Xero to a dark mode - If there are any updates for either of these you'll be notified.
Our goal for the homepage is to empower our customers to get insight into their organisation's true performance at a glance, and tackle the most important tasks quickly. Please provide a bare bones package without all the extra fluff a huge portion of your customers do not need.
Please stop raising prices for us one man band tradie type of business. The basic package with unlimited bills and invoices, gst, basic reporting.. That's it, I'd stay forever, rather than looking elsewhere as I am currently.
Some customers may love all your little improvements, and features, but many find it a pain having to learn a new homepage and pay more, for no added value at all!4 votesHi everyone, we appreciate your feedback. New Interface too overwhelming
I find the new interface overwhelming compared to the previous two-column layout.
In our business we manage a large number of bank accounts and credit cards, and the new design displays everything in a very dense, visually busy way. This makes it harder to scan and understand at a glance, and honestly creates visual discomfort for me (similar to trypophobia triggered by dense, repetitive layouts).
The old two-column layout was much calmer, clearer, and more usable for accounts-heavy setups. It allowed faster comprehension and reduced cognitive load.

That said I want to be upfront that we intend to roll out the new Homepage to all users over the coming months. While we don't accept idea to remove new features, our product teams are paying close attention to feedback we're receiving on the new Homepage and taking this onboard as the continue to develop the experience.
I can see you have also joined this idea around the column widths, and if there are any updates around this we'll be sure to let everyone know on the idea there.

Less time wondering what changes I'll find when I open Xero!!!
The continuing changes in Xero for a smaller business are confusing and unnecessary. It takes me longer to find where I want to be in the program and the terms used are not for older operators.

Home page ticks bank as reconciled, but with transactions not reconciled
Don't show "Reconciled" for the bank account if there are still transactions to reconcile.
This is happening where the balances match. But with some clients, the balances match every day because the bank does a sweep to restore the current account to e.g. £250, placing the rest on deposit. So the green tick and the word "Reconciled" are misleading – and look stupid next to a button telling us how many transactions there are to reconcile.

It's best looked into with a closer lens as this information heavily relies on the information within the bank accounts (statements and transactions). Homescreen
Put drafts at the top of the box. The customize screen is not truly customizable. You are locked in somewhat based on the size of the boxes. I don't like that. Also move everything up a little (getting ride of the you are using the new homepage box would help). Would also be really nice when we scroll down on the screen the top menu bar would stay accessible so we can navigate to another page without having to scroll back up to see the menu.

Homepage | Expense widget - Input and categorise expenses
There is no widget for expense reporting. This has to be the most common thing that small business owners have to do - input expenses and categorize them. Why isn't there a widget to input and categorize expenses?
1 voteHi Cecil, appreciate the feedback and to help better understand why you're not seeing the Expense widgets for the new Homepage I would recommend raising a case with our Xero Support team via Xero central where we can get more detail to help 1-1.
It's worth noting that widgets on the homepage are related to Xero Expenses, not classic. If you're using Classic Expenses you can still access and view these by clicking Purchases > Expenses, where organisations that are using Classic Expenses will see a banner and can select to go to Classic Expenses.

You are getting too complicated and then will be too expensive - none of my clients look at Xero, they leave it to me as the bookkeeper to
Dial it back - my clients would only use Xero for invoicing, they leave it up to me to keep the information up to date for the accountant - via dockets they hubdoc or the ones I upload using the new unload in purchase. its becoming scary that through the automation I maybe out of a job before I am ready :( If you are chasing a big client market and ditching the small business then maybe have Xero Small for us, keep it simple and affordable and go crazying with ap link ins and crazy reports for bigger businesses

Expense Document Uploads
Not homepage but happened at the same time so maybe related: pdfs are showing up tiny and in poor resolution when uploaded as an image to a new expense claim.
1 voteHi Daniel, from what you’ve described, it sounds like this may be a technical issue with how PDFs are rendering in Expenses rather than a product idea.
We’ve moved this to Feedback, as performance issues are best handled by our Support team, who can help troubleshoot what’s happening and look into it more closely. You can reach them directly via Xero Support, where they’ll be able to investigate the PDF resolution issue with you.

- What part of the current Stripe reconciliation process is taking the most time? (e.g., matching multi-currency payments, handling surcharges, or reconciling bulk payouts?)

What a bloody awful new format for the home page. I hate every aspect of it.

Because this request involves a third-party integration (Deputy), it falls outside the scope of our current product idea categories, so I’ve marked this as Feedback.

The new home page is very busy whereas the old version is simple and sharp. Perhaps the addition of widget or windows on new version can be an option for the user to pick if they require.

Homepage | Add a Projects widget with ability to record, or add time on the fly
Could we have a Project widget for time-recording, so you can track and save time right from the homepage.

I can see how a dedicated dashboard widget would make it much easier to keep on top of time tracking without leaving the home page.
While we don't have a homepage widget for this yet, you can actually record time from any screen in Xero by clicking the plus (+) icon in the top right header and selecting "Add time entry." Many of our members also find the Xero Projects mobile app really handy for recording time "on the fly" while they're away from their desks.
