New Home Page Feedback
Not a fan of the new home page, previous one was so much better, simple yet effective. I would much prefer to stay on the old one for good. The icons/widgets on the new page are too big and too busy. Previous page was simple and easy to navigate. As they say, don't fix something that isn't broken.
111 votesHi team, thank you for your feedback. We have 2 main ideas that relate to the sizing of the widgets and wanting a simpler layout that I welcome you to add your support to.
However I want to be open that the new homepage will permanently become the new experience over this year. We don't accept ideas for the removal of new features, but are very open to hearing what changes you feel could better your experience of the new homepage - please feel free to start a new idea if there are other particular changes you feel could improve this experience for you.

Put it back how it was! Stop changing for changes sake
As a ND person, changes for the sake of change is frustrating, and confusing. It is too large and noisy - it is awful. How about you fix things that actually need fixing - like being able to pay more than 200 bills and stop tinkering around the edges to make a noise.
And what is with the advertising at the bottom of the page? I PAY to use Xero, I don't want advertising bombarding me as well.
3 votesAppreciate your feedback, Kate. However want to be upfront here that the new Homepage will be the experience for all customers moving forward, and the old Dashboard will soon be removed.
Understand there are improvements our customers would like to see in other areas of Xero and our product teams regularly consider and take support for ideas here in the platform into their product planning decisions. We will be sure to update if there is any movement for an idea you've supported.
In terms of the advertising you mentioned - it sounds like you may be referring to the App recommendations? If so, you can Edit homepage where you'll see an option to 'Hide' this section.

Xero Product Ideas - Trouble unsubscribing
I looked at your Product Ideas page and stupidly liked a couple of ideas. Now I get dozens of emails from Xero saying so-and-so has a new comment. I've unsubscribed over and over and over again TO NO AVAIL.
What kind of web designers are you? It can't be that hard to allow people to unsubscribe from hearing about all the other people who agree that you've cocked up the redesign. Are there actually real people doing the designing and coding at Xero or are you just a bunch of bots now?

If you login to Xero Product Ideas and click your initials in the top right of the screen go to Settings & Activity you will see options for notifications on the left side of the page.
Please do respond to my update here if you continue to receive these and I can look into this further for you.

We understand there are different ways our customers feel the homepage would best work for their needs. Please know our product teams are taking on board all the feedback from the forums here.
Ideas and the ability for customers to vote and share more detail about how a feature would benefit them helps our product teams understand the wider needs and get a quantitative view of the interest for a change. It also means we can keep you updated of any progress we make toward solving for an idea.

Homepage - Chart of accounts to display lengthways
To be able to change the chart of accounts to be length ways so you can see all the acounts on the home screen like they use to in other words resize the boxes.

Hi Chris, We've just taken another look at this one. As you can currently access bank rules quickly from the Accounting menu, we may need a little extra information about how a link on the homepage would improve your experience with Xero homepage. This will help others in community know what they're voting for, and ensure we can get your idea to the right people in product for consideration.

Why cant you just leave it be. When you get used to one version it is then changed and you will have it by a certain date, no choice. As with everything else nowadays theres more and more information to take in. When trying to run a business theres enough to do without having to navigate more information and menu after menu

Dashboard - Draft Bills and Bank accounts
Drafts used to be easy to see from the home page. It is so horrible now. Also, I want the ability to have all my bank accounts on the left hand side, but the widgets need to be balanced across the screen, this is so horrible and now I cannot see any data that was so easily visible. This may be ok for single use file bookkeeping, but when you are heavily involved in 200 files, this new homepage is horrible.

I liked having the new invoice front and center when signing in guest. Can that be put back on home page?

description tab so you can search for specific items, - sage has this as a transactional list
if you search a customer or supplier for a specific item it brings up a list of the same items- sage has this as a search in transactions

I believe you are asking about being able to search for Inventory items in a contact file in Xero. I am not familiar with Sage so the more information you can give us the better we can review this idea. Thanks again.

profitability for tracking code
The profitability of a tracking code is very important. (Thats the point of a tracking code) Overall pnl no so much because there are a number of year end items that mean the upto date picture is not so useful.

It is possible to run a Profit and Loss report for your tracking categories.If your organisation has set up tracking categories, you can compare tracking categories or options side-by-side in columns. It doesn't look like a case has been raised with the support team yet, we'd recommend reaching out to the team if further assistance is required.

Extreme life saver
I get a vendor's instruction tasks for unit turnovers... I'd like to copy and paste 15+ tasks list and Xero should itemized each task with a proposed material list for each one of those tasks

Time saver
I always add the property address under REFERENCE... automatically the tax rate should be calculated under that address.

"Import bank statement" available for internal accounts
Make "Import bank statement" link work for internal bank accounts
We use bank accounts for internal accounts and tills. I upload the statement using excel. I can do this within the account, but strangely not from the homepage.
1 voteHi Sue, you should be able to see the 'Import bank statement' option in the 3 dot menu for any bank accounts on your homepage including the internal bank accounts.
