New Home Page Feedback
Not a fan of the new home page, previous one was so much better, simple yet effective. I would much prefer to stay on the old one for good. The icons/widgets on the new page are too big and too busy. Previous page was simple and easy to navigate. As they say, don't fix something that isn't broken.
106 votesHi team, thank you for your feedback. We have 2 main ideas that relate to the sizing of the widgets and wanting a simpler layout that I welcome you to add your support to.
However I want to be open that the new homepage will permanently become the new experience over this year. We don't accept ideas for the removal of new features, but are very open to hearing what changes you feel could better your experience of the new homepage - please feel free to start a new idea if there are other particular changes you feel could improve this experience for you.

New Homepage - The new home page is awful
The new home page is awful - the old one was simple, I have spent ages trying to move the modules around on the page, but they wont move - I develop websites on an occasional basis and so am not technologically illiterate. I want one size of module, or at least ability to control it, and to be able to easily arrange key items in linear columns on the page. Why introduce something so user unfriendly? Please revert to the old version until you can deliver a better user experience, this is desperately bad.
12 votesThanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback about the new Xero homepage. I’m sorry that the changes have made it harder for you to get to what you need — that’s absolutely not the experience we want for you.
The homepage changes are part of a longer-term effort to modernise Xero and create a more flexible “home base” where you can see key tasks and insights in one place and act on them quickly. This new design and architecture should let us surface more of the information and tools you rely on, and improve them more often over time.
That said, we know that when you’re busy running a business, any big change can feel disruptive — especially when you were already familiar with the previous layout. Your feedback is really important in helping our product teams understand where the new experience isn’t working as well…

Homepage - No Widget for the classic Expense
There is no Widget for the classic Expense Claim in the new home page options. Hence It's of no use to me.

Homepage - Select multiple invoices
Permanently give the option to stay on the old set-up homepge.
New one is horrendous! Can't select multiple invoices? And if I can then its impossible to workout how.10 votesHi Tim, it’s been a little while since our last update. As we don’t have enough details to fully understand the idea, I’ve updated the status to Feedback for now.
If you’re able to share a bit more about the process you’re referring to, such as how you were selecting multiple invoices in the previous Dashboard and what you’d like to see happen, please feel free to add it here and we’d be happy to take another look.
We really appreciate the engagement from you and everyone who’s contributed to this idea.

Stop changing stuff for the sake of changing it or to justify your constant price increases. New changes are absolute ****!
Stop changing stuff for the sake of change or to justify constant price increases. Newest changes are just ****!
8 votesHi Glenn, thanks for being open with sharing your feedback. I understand how the recent updates and pricing changes could be frustrating, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Because this is about general updates rather than a specific feature request, I’ve moved it to Feedback status. It won’t be open for voting, but our teams do read comments like this to understand how changes impact day-to-day workflows.
If there’s a particular feature or improvement you’d like to see in Xero, we’d love for you to post it as a separate idea in the Product Ideas forum—this way it can gain support and be tracked by our teams.

Reduced risk of accidental viewing of sensitive information
The new home page is WAY to busy and has information which i do not want employees to see such as the P&L for the year and bank account balances.
The layout seems to move around which makes it hard to find the task at hand.
Recent invoice payments is irrelevant as I would rather know what is outstanding rather than what has been reconciled already.
A simple set of widgets along the top of the home page above the business overview would be very handy....
(New Contact) (New Invoice) (New Bill) (Draft Bills) (Bills to Pay)

You can Edit homepage to remove and reduce the amount of widgets you're seeing, as well as customise the ordering of these.
From the '+' icon in the blue navigation header you can drop down to select to add new items including new Contact, new Invoice, and new Bill (I've included an image showing all the different options available)
Within widgets you'll also find most text is hyperlinked and will link you directly to that subset of data. For example the Bills to pay widget you can click 'x' awaiting payment or 'x' drafts to go to the list of bills with that relative status.
We appreciate hearing what matters to our customers and are monitoring…

New Homepage - Feedback on customers wants
It sounds like many customers chose Xero because it works the way it is. Please let us know why Xero need to change it?
4 votesThanks so much for getting in touch and sharing how you feel about the changes 🙂.
At Xero we are constantly looking at ways to improve our platform and our customers’ experience. That includes investing in new features, improving performance and security, and making sure Xero continues to be one of the leading platforms for running a business ⭐.
The updated homepage is part of this ongoing work. It’s designed to surface key information and actions in one place, with more options to customise what you see so it better reflects how you use Xero.
It can take a little time to get used to something new, but these updates are all about enhancing your experience and helping you get even more value from Xero. We’ll keep refining things based on feedback like yours, so if there are specific things that were easier before, please let me know – I’m…

More intuitive please
The old homepage was intuitive and user friendly. The new one is not. It is not an improvement. I just want to get to my balance sheet and enter payments and receipts as promptly as possible. Why complicate things? If it ain't broke, why fix it?
6 votesHi Godwin, thanks for sharing your thoughts. We understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t feel intuitive—your experience matters to us.
To help our product teams take action, ideas work best when they clearly describe a specific feature, the problem it’s causing, and the impact on your business. You can check out our Qualities of a Good Idea for guidance.
If you can share which task or screen felt confusing and how you’d like it to work, it will help us make your idea more relevant and actionable.

Stop fussing about appearance and improve functionality
Every time you change the homepage I feel really frustrated, because you are not making the functional changes to improve usability. Specifically allocating multiple overpayments in sales. There are so many good ideas and you just tweak the appearance.
4 votesAppreciate your feedback, Juliette and this will be shared back with our product team.
I see you've also added your support to the idea for bulk allocating credit to invoices, and if there's any progress around this we'll share an update with everyone there.
Our new homepage aims to empower our customers to see the business’s true performance at a glance and tackle the most important tasks, quicker. We will continue to develop on this to further improve the experience.
We understand there are ideas that you'd like to see developed that may not be in focus right now - please know your contributions in product ideas is valued. Our product teams are highly engaged with the feedback and support in these forums. Last year alone we delivered solutions for over 280 ideas that had been raised by our community here.

Homepage - Include items to review and draft items in the tasks widget.
Please can bills to review, invoices to review, expenses to review be included on the tasks widget. This was really clear in the old homepage design and now the things to do are hidden among all the bank accounts, which were previously grouped together nicely.
5 votesAppreciate hearing your feedback on this here. I can assure you our teams did a lot of testing with all aspects of the homepage prior to it's rollout however we totally understand there are different views of what information would be most valuable, where. This is exactly the type of thing we're keen to hear and understand the appetite of through product ideas.
Just to confirm ,while slightly changed in terms of placement it's possible to view Drafts for Invoices and Bills in their related Invoices owed to you, or Bills to pay widgets.
This is now found beneath the graph where you can click the 'x' drafts text to go straight to the list of draft invoices (or bills).
We don't have any immediate plans for changing the placement of the Drafts link within the Invoices owed to you, or Bills to pay widgets however we'll begin to get…

Homepage - Templates and Blank Cards (Widgets)
Homepage - Templates that give users quick layouts.
The current 'new' system is cluttered and starts with all items in some random order different to the layout on the old (and honestly nicer and cleaner) layout. The current system will make it very hard for some users to find items and will take time to set up. As the cascading cards uses more of a 'app page' layout and shuffling.
To help, and also not create extra ongoing load for your team would be to allow community templates so more proactive users a chance to build and share card layouts.
…
4 votesThanks for sharing your thoughts on the homepage layout!
To make sure your suggestions get the best visibility and can be accurately voted on by the community, we need to split this into two separate ideas:
- Dashboard - Templates for homepage layouts
- Dashboard - Blank spacer cards for homepage customization
Because our system requires "one idea per post," I’ve noted this as Feedback for now.
Please feel free to post these as two individual ideas using the titles above so we can move them to Gaining Support!

Delay the mandatory switch-over
The new homepage is being shown as mandatory from Feb. 16th. Before then we can switch back, but the wording suggests we'll be locked into the new homepage from this date.
This date needs to be delayed until all major issues are fixed. This includes issues with layout, fixed column counts, scrambling widgets on multiple sized monitors/screens/browsers, etc. There are also many other feedback points in this forum which highlight usability concerns.
NB: Some of the concerns looked to have been addressed, and tweaks are obviously being made, but it's still not in a usable state for a mandatory switch…
5 votesHi Andrew, while we appreciate your feedback here and I've also shared your in-depth insights on the layout and responsive design with our product team I want to be transparent here that your post here will be moved to Feedback.
Feedback is definitely being monitored closely and there are many factors that play into decisions around switch over dates.
Be assured that we will make sure to openly communicate these with our customers.

Why only two rows?
Why can I only have two rows of things on the page? There's a lot of wasted vertical screen space on the page.
4 votesWe'll need some more detail for your post to be considered as an idea here, Ian. It'd be great if you could mention a little bit more information, perhaps, with a screenshot to show what you mean by limited by two rows and wasted vertical space? This will help others in community know what they're voting for, and ensure we can get your idea to the right people in product for consideration.
If you'd like to update your idea, you can reply to this update and we'll re-review - See more details on the qualities of a good idea on Xero Central.

How about not changing something that is not broken
There’s no reason to change something that works. Effort should instead be directed toward fixing the items that are broken and remain unresolved — such as the inability to trace billable expenses once an invoice has been posted, and the inconsistent text line spacing on the invoice screen. Having a dark mode
5 votesAppreciate development mightn't always be where you'd most like to see it directed, Christopher. I've made sure to add your vote to existing ideas we have for; creating a link between a bill and invoice a billable expense is assigned to, and being able to set Xero to a dark mode - If there are any updates for either of these you'll be notified.
Our goal for the homepage is to empower our customers to get insight into their organisation's true performance at a glance, and tackle the most important tasks quickly. If there is something about the homepage that you feel could be improved to help your experience please do add your support to existing ideas or start a new one that we can gauge community interest from. Thanks

Please provide a bare bones package without all the extra fluff a huge portion of your customers do not need.
Please stop raising prices for us one man band tradie type of business. The basic package with unlimited bills and invoices, gst, basic reporting.. That's it, I'd stay forever, rather than looking elsewhere as I am currently.
Some customers may love all your little improvements, and features, but many find it a pain having to learn a new homepage and pay more, for no added value at all!4 votesHi everyone, we appreciate your feedback. We understand price increases can be disappointing, but we're actively reinvesting to enhance the platform and provide immediate value to all of our customers.
We are always working to make Xero more reliable, secure, and useful, and these investments allow us to support the evolving needs of our customers.
While your contributions here will be shared with our teams, this will be moved to feedback as we do not accept ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures and cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.

New Interface too overwhelming
I find the new interface overwhelming compared to the previous two-column layout.
In our business we manage a large number of bank accounts and credit cards, and the new design displays everything in a very dense, visually busy way. This makes it harder to scan and understand at a glance, and honestly creates visual discomfort for me (similar to trypophobia triggered by dense, repetitive layouts).
The old two-column layout was much calmer, clearer, and more usable for accounts-heavy setups. It allowed faster comprehension and reduced cognitive load.
I would strongly appreciate:
An option to switch back to the classic two-column…
3 votesAppreciate your feedback, Eric and this will be shared back with our teams.
That said I want to be upfront that we intend to roll out the new Homepage to all users over the coming months. While we don't accept idea to remove new features, our product teams are paying close attention to feedback we're receiving on the new Homepage and taking this onboard as the continue to develop the experience.
I can see you have also joined this idea around the column widths, and if there are any updates around this we'll be sure to let everyone know on the idea there.

Try testing things before release
Why doesn't your new improved page load first time?
Why do I need to refresh the page at least twice every time I login since your updated homepage?
There's an age old adage. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.Maybe you aught to pay attention to that.
The experience is much worse and frustrating
3 votesI'm sorry to hear the loading issues you've mentioned here, Alex. This is definitely something we'd like to take a closer look into - Bugs or performance issues are best looked into by our Xero Support team. If not already please raise a case with our specialists through Xero Central and our specialists can get more detail to investigate and escalate with our product team if needed.

Homepage - Pause and reflect
@ Kelly Munro
Hi Kelly, looking at threads (one with 707 comments a time of writing this), the new homepage has extremely minimal support from your paying customers.
You previously stated "However I want to be open that the new homepage will permanently become the new experience over this year."
Surely it's time for a bit of reflection now you can all see the real depth of feeling and rejection of it, and find a way of letting us keep the old layout option?
It's not as if the comments are broadly 50/50 in support of this, it's more like…
2 votesAppreciate your feedback, Rob. Our product team are taking all this feedback onboard and considering this carefully as they plan further development. However as noted the new Homepage will become the future experience for all customers.
While we appreciate the feedback we're receiving from customers in product ideas here, I can assure you that our teams did a lot of testing and research of the new homepage prior and through the release.
We will continue to share any updates on the related ideas as improvements are planned.

Our company has used Xero for more than 14 years. In the early years, the platform was excellent and met our needs very well. Unfortunately, that has changed.
Xero continues to push frequent updates that are presented as “improvements,” but in practice many of these changes have made the software more difficult to use and have disrupted our day-to-day operations. Rather than enhancing functionality, these updates often require significant time just to understand what has been altered and how to work around it.
The most recent update has caused serious issues with bank feeds and billing. Resolving these problems has…
1 voteHi Robert, thanks for your feedback here and I understand you've also been in direct contact with our Xero Support team on the pain points you've shared.
Our banking specialists will be best suited to help with any issues you've having with feeds.
As we continue to evolve and develop on our feature experiences across Xero we do hope you start to see benefit for yourself and business overtime.
Your feedback here is appreciate and will be shared with our product teams.

Cashbook - Light version of xero without AI
A basic stripped down version of xero without the unnecessary AI nonsense, useless features all for a cheaper price.
Your pricing has gotten out of hand.
There are a lot of unnecesary features that i dont want to pay for2 votesHi Chris, we appreciate your feedback, this will be shared with our teams. However, we do not accept ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures and cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.
