  1. Our company has used Xero for more than 14 years. In the early years, the platform was excellent and met our needs very well. Unfortunately, that has changed.

    Xero continues to push frequent updates that are presented as “improvements,” but in practice many of these changes have made the software more difficult to use and have disrupted our day-to-day operations. Rather than enhancing functionality, these updates often require significant time just to understand what has been altered and how to work around it.

It'd be great if you could mention a little bit more information, perhaps, with a screenshot to show what you mean by limited by two rows and wasted vertical space? This will help others in community know what they're voting for, and ensure we can get your idea to the right people in product for consideration.

  3. A basic stripped down version of xero without the unnecessary AI nonsense, useless features all for a cheaper price.

    Your pricing has gotten out of hand.
    There are a lot of unnecesary features that i dont want to pay for

  4. The new Homepage won't load until looking at the tab; then takes ages to load.

    When I am working in a client file (or even my own), I frequently open multiple Xero pages in new tabs so they can load while I am working on the current page. (Draft bills is one example of this. My clients would need to pay me at least triple for the time I would take if I had to do them one at a time.) When I am done with a tab I close it, and I click into the next tab and continue…

  5. Why doesn't your new improved page load first time?
    Why do I need to refresh the page at least twice every time I login since your updated homepage?
    There's an age old adage. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

    Maybe you aught to pay attention to that.

    The experience is much worse and frustrating

  6. Please can bills to review, invoices to review, expenses to review be included on the tasks widget. This was really clear in the old homepage design and now the things to do are hidden among all the bank accounts, which were previously grouped together nicely.

    Appreciate hearing your feedback on this here. I can assure you our teams did a lot of testing with all aspects of the homepage prior to it's rollout however we totally understand there are different views of what information would be most valuable, where. This is exactly the type of thing we're keen to hear and understand the appetite of through product ideas.

    Just to confirm ,while slightly changed in terms of placement it's possible to view Drafts for Invoices and Bills in their related Invoices owed to you, or Bills to pay widgets.

    This is now found beneath the graph where you can click the 'x' drafts text to go straight to the list of draft invoices (or bills).

    We don't have any immediate plans for changing the placement of the Drafts link within the Invoices owed to you, or Bills to pay widgets however we'll begin to get…

  7. Your updates are all geared towards profit making companies, which means they are all pretty much useless for not-for-profit organisations. These updates just added a lot of unnecessary clutter to my homepage that I needed to remove. You have a big not-for-profit and charity customer base whose needs you are ignoring.

    Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We truly value the input from our NFP and charity community as we work to make Xero a great fit for organizations of all types.

    While our default dashboard includes a variety of widgets, the goal is to provide a flexible space that you can make your own. You can easily remove any "clutter" and hide metrics like Net Profit by selecting Edit Dashboard at the top of the page. This allows you to prioritize the tools; like bank balances or specific tracking categories that are most relevant to your mission.

    If there are specific features or views that would better support your NFP's workflow, please do share them. We are always looking for ways to grow with our users' needs in mind.

    Hi Glenn, thanks for being open with sharing your feedback. I understand how the recent updates and pricing changes could be frustrating, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

    Because this is about general updates rather than a specific feature request, I’ve moved it to Feedback status. It won’t be open for voting, but our teams do read comments like this to understand how changes impact day-to-day workflows.

  9. The new home page is WAY to busy and has information which i do not want employees to see such as the P&L for the year and bank account balances.

    The layout seems to move around which makes it hard to find the task at hand.

    Recent invoice payments is irrelevant as I would rather know what is outstanding rather than what has been reconciled already.

    A simple set of widgets along the top of the home page above the business overview would be very handy....

    Hi team, we appreciate your feedback on the new homepage here, which has been shared with our product team. A couple of points raised that we'd like to zone into and highlight options for.

    You can Edit homepage to remove and reduce the amount of widgets you're seeing, as well as customise the ordering of these.

    From the '+' icon in the blue navigation header you can drop down to select to add new items including new Contact, new Invoice, and new Bill (I've included an image showing all the different options available)

    Within widgets you'll also find most text is hyperlinked and will link you directly to that subset of data. For example the Bills to pay widget you can click 'x' awaiting payment or 'x' drafts to go to the list of bills with that relative status.

  10. There is no widget for expense reporting. This has to be the most common thing that small business owners have to do - input expenses and categorize them. Why isn't there a widget to input and categorize expenses?

    Hi Cecil, appreciate the feedback and to help better understand why you're not seeing the Expense widgets for the new Homepage I would recommend raising a case with our Xero Support team via Xero central where we can get more detail to help 1-1.

    It's worth noting that widgets on the homepage are related to Xero Expenses, not classic. If you're using Classic Expenses you can still access and view these by clicking Purchases > Expenses, where organisations that are using Classic Expenses will see a banner and can select to go to Classic Expenses.

  11. The "Recent invoice payments" Widget on the Homepage seems to be showing the wrong date for the receipt date. It seems to be behind by a day.

    If a widget isn’t displaying the right data, that’s understandably confusing—especially when you rely on it for a quick snapshot of your numbers.

    As this sounds like a possible technical issue rather than a new feature request, I’ve moved your post to Feedback. The Product Ideas forum is best suited for suggestions and enhancements, whereas this will likely need a closer look at your specific setup.

    I recommend contacting Xero Support via Xero Central so they can help to investigate why the widget isn’t behaving as expected.

  12. The old homepage was intuitive and user friendly. The new one is not. It is not an improvement. I just want to get to my balance sheet and enter payments and receipts as promptly as possible. Why complicate things? If it ain't broke, why fix it?

Dial it back - my clients would only use Xero for invoicing, they leave it up to me to keep the information up to date for the accountant - via dockets they hubdoc or the ones I upload using the new unload in purchase. its becoming scary that through the automation I maybe out of a job before I am ready :( If you are chasing a big client market and ditching the small business then maybe have Xero Small for us, keep it simple and affordable and go crazying with ap link ins and crazy reports for bigger businesses

  14. When typing in the email recipient box when sending a quote or invoice it used to remember previously imputed email address (as well as the contact addresses) but doesn't anymore. Is this coming back or staying as is?

    As this sounds like a technical or account-specific issue rather than a feature request, the Product Ideas forum isn’t the best place to get this sorted for you.

  16. I find the new interface overwhelming compared to the previous two-column layout.

    In our business we manage a large number of bank accounts and credit cards, and the new design displays everything in a very dense, visually busy way. This makes it harder to scan and understand at a glance, and honestly creates visual discomfort for me (similar to trypophobia triggered by dense, repetitive layouts).

    The old two-column layout was much calmer, clearer, and more usable for accounts-heavy setups. It allowed faster comprehension and reduced cognitive load.

    That said I want to be upfront that we intend to roll out the new Homepage to all users over the coming months. While we don't accept idea to remove new features, our product teams are paying close attention to feedback we're receiving on the new Homepage and taking this onboard as the continue to develop the experience.

    I can see you have also joined this idea around the column widths, and if there are any updates around this we'll be sure to let everyone know on the idea there.

  17. Homepage - Templates that give users quick layouts.

    The current 'new' system is cluttered and starts with all items in some random order different to the layout on the old (and honestly nicer and cleaner) layout. The current system will make it very hard for some users to find items and will take time to set up. As the cascading cards uses more of a 'app page' layout and shuffling.

    To help, and also not create extra ongoing load for your team would be to allow community templates so more proactive users a chance to build and share card layouts.

  18. Not homepage but happened at the same time so maybe related: pdfs are showing up tiny and in poor resolution when uploaded as an image to a new expense claim.

    Hi Daniel, from what you’ve described, it sounds like this may be a technical issue with how PDFs are rendering in Expenses rather than a product idea.

    We’ve moved this to Feedback, as performance issues are best handled by our Support team, who can help troubleshoot what’s happening and look into it more closely. You can reach them directly via Xero Support, where they’ll be able to investigate the PDF resolution issue with you.

    Sorry to hear the troubles you're running into here, Mike. To help our product team understand the specific pain points you're facing, could you tell us a bit more about:

    1. What part of the current Stripe reconciliation process is taking the most time? (e.g., matching multi-currency payments, handling surcharges, or reconciling bulk payouts?)
    2. How would a change here specifically benefit your daily business workflow?

    In the meantime, have you had a look at out guide: Reconcile Stripe payments on Xero Central? This article provides information to ensure you've correctly set up your Stripe within Xero to speed up your reconciliation.

  20. Not a fan of the new home page, previous one was so much better, simple yet effective. I would much prefer to stay on the old one for good. The icons/widgets on the new page are too big and too busy. Previous page was simple and easy to navigate. As they say, don't fix something that isn't broken.

    Hi team, thank you for your feedback. We have 2 main ideas that relate to the sizing of the widgets and wanting a simpler layout that I welcome you to add your support to.

    However I want to be open that the new homepage will permanently become the new experience over this year. We don't accept ideas for the removal of new features, but are very open to hearing what changes you feel could better your experience of the new homepage - please feel free to start a new idea if there are other particular changes you feel could improve this experience for you.
