New Home Page Feedback
Not a fan of the new home page, previous one was so much better, simple yet effective. I would much prefer to stay on the old one for good. The icons/widgets on the new page are too big and too busy. Previous page was simple and easy to navigate. As they say, don't fix something that isn't broken.
111 votesHi team, thank you for your feedback. We have 2 main ideas that relate to the sizing of the widgets and wanting a simpler layout that I welcome you to add your support to.
However I want to be open that the new homepage will permanently become the new experience over this year. We don't accept ideas for the removal of new features, but are very open to hearing what changes you feel could better your experience of the new homepage - please feel free to start a new idea if there are other particular changes you feel could improve this experience for you.

Homepage not updating live data - reconciled transactions
The homepage does not live update the reconciled transactions. It is always showing old data.
2 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing this feedback. We understand the importance of having homepage dashboard figures update immediately after completing bank reconciliation.
The expected behaviour is for homepage widgets to refresh and reflect updated information shortly after reconciliation is completed. If you’re experiencing delays, it may be worth checking your internet connection and browser performance to rule out local factors.

Better UX
Firstly, for the price point, it would be valuable to have stronger tools for margin analysis on COGS. The underlying data is already in the system, but there’s limited ability to run flexible reports to properly evaluate performance based on how we’ve coded transactions.
Secondly, an inventory function would add significant value. Each order entered effectively represents an inventory movement, yet there’s no simple way to load, adjust, or manage stock levels within the system. This would be particularly helpful for small businesses.

To see if it fits what you need, I'd highly recommend raising a case with our support team, they can walk you through how it works. If you chat with them and find there are still gaps in what you need, please let us know! Regarding your other suggestions, we work best when ideas are submitted one at a time. Because this post covers a few different requests, it makes it hard for us to accurately track community interest and keep everyone updated.

Homepage - Chart of accounts to display lengthways
To be able to change the chart of accounts to be length ways so you can see all the acounts on the home screen like they use to in other words resize the boxes.

I am just trying to share basic feedback on the overall constant changes and updates to the software. Its ridiculus. I am all for needed updates but at this point it seems like changes are just being made to keep people busy. As far as employees in numerous divisions is concerned, everytime there is an update with multiple changes that doesn't seem to effect much, it takes them a few days to figure everything out. It slows production down and for what, so the dashboard can look different. We don't need to reinvent the wheel guys. I have been a…

VAT Widget - Remove Error Message between accounting periods
When you're between (or at the start of) VAT accounting periods and the following are both true:
- The previous period MTD submission has been submitted to HMRC
- There are no transactions on the current period
The VAT widget on the homepage displays a generic system error. This I feel is incorrect and confusing. This error suggests the widget could not retrieve the relevant VAT information. In actual fact, there is information there - it's just empty. (For the technically minded it's the difference between an empty set versus no set being there.)
It would be better for the different scenarios…

In regards to the VAT widget just to clarify, the information that is pulled to show the VAT obligation comes from HMRC and this is not something that Xero has control over. However we would like to investigate at a Support level.

Why cant you just leave it be. When you get used to one version it is then changed and you will have it by a certain date, no choice. As with everything else nowadays theres more and more information to take in. When trying to run a business theres enough to do without having to navigate more information and menu after menu

Bank feed: Add bank logo to manage-bank-accounts page
Can you please add the bank logo back on to the bank accounts - We have multiple accounts with different banks and it is was an easy 'quick glance' way to see how different sections of the business was tracking.

Dashboard - Draft Bills and Bank accounts
Drafts used to be easy to see from the home page. It is so horrible now. Also, I want the ability to have all my bank accounts on the left hand side, but the widgets need to be balanced across the screen, this is so horrible and now I cannot see any data that was so easily visible. This may be ok for single use file bookkeeping, but when you are heavily involved in 200 files, this new homepage is horrible.

description tab so you can search for specific items, - sage has this as a transactional list
if you search a customer or supplier for a specific item it brings up a list of the same items- sage has this as a search in transactions

I believe you are asking about being able to search for Inventory items in a contact file in Xero. profitability for tracking code
The profitability of a tracking code is very important. (Thats the point of a tracking code) Overall pnl no so much because there are a number of year end items that mean the upto date picture is not so useful.

It is possible to run a Profit and Loss report for your tracking categories.If your organisation has set up tracking categories, you can compare tracking categories or options side-by-side in columns. It doesn't look like a case has been raised with the support team yet, we'd recommend reaching out to the team if further assistance is required.

Extreme life saver
I get a vendor's instruction tasks for unit turnovers... I'd like to copy and paste 15+ tasks list and Xero should itemized each task with a proposed material list for each one of those tasks

I always add the property address under REFERENCE... automatically the tax rate should be calculated under that address.
