Homepage | Cash In & Cash Out - differentiate P&L items or Balance Sheet Items.
The Cash In & Cash Out tab could benefit from the ability to determine if the cash in OR cash out is from P&L items or Balance Sheet Items.
For instance if a large cash injection occurred from the director you'd have a large cash in, which wouldnt match the profit. In contrast, a payment of liabilities for tax/gst may impact cash flow and skew the results for cash out.
The suggestion would be for a stacked/filtered view on the IN and the OUT bars, to either display the stacked cash in (on top of each other), for P&L and Balance sheet, or to view P&L or Balance sheet ONLY. The same would apply to the OUT bar.
Great to get your feedback on the Cash in and out widget from you here - Thanks for sharing.
We don't have any plans of this nature just atm, but will be keeping a close eye on the appetite of this here and I'll share if there are any updates.

@shelle I agree, the date function would allow you to focus on the period which is relevant to you. Date adjustment over 12 months gives a better "average" feel

Yes! Lee-Anne, this is so true. It is a great idea for a widget, but needs to be customisable.
Also, I would love if we could edit the dates for this widget when editing dashboard: I would like to see more than just 6 months at a time, 12 months/FY to date etc would be ideal.

Completely agree Lee-Anne, transfers completely throw out this report. If you could filter out balance sheet movements entirely at-will it would allow more meaningful comparrison

I thought this visual was a great idea until I checked the figures. The report figures don't match the visuals, I presume due to transfers between bank accounts. disappointing. It would be nice to have a quick click to show a set of accounts. maybe there is another option in Xero i haven't explored.
