Our company has used Xero for more than 14 years. In the early years, the platform was excellent and met our needs very well. Unfortunately, that has changed.
Xero continues to push frequent updates that are presented as “improvements,” but in practice many of these changes have made the software more difficult to use and have disrupted our day-to-day operations. Rather than enhancing functionality, these updates often require significant time just to understand what has been altered and how to work around it.
The most recent update has caused serious issues with bank feeds and billing. Resolving these problems has taken hours of unplanned time, directly impacting our productivity and business operations.
At this point, we are seriously considering moving to another accounting platform due to the constant changes and the interruptions they create. It is clear that updates are not being adequately beta tested before release. Forcing customers to troubleshoot fundamental functions after an update is unacceptable and costly.
We are extremely disappointed with the current direction of the product and how these changes are being rolled out. In discussion with out accounting firm, we are not alone as most every client using Xero is having issues.
Thanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Ideas. We appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve Xero for you.
Your feedback will soon be reviewed by our Community team, and in the meantime this can begin to build support with votes from other community members.

I have to agree. The way Xero goes about handling updates, generally ignoring feedback (they already had feedback that the updated homepage didn't work well for everyone), pushing a marketing/spin/pr focus on one hand while complete radio silence on the other regarding legitimate feedback, and a general lack of skill in usable and efficient UI design... well I no longer have any confidence in the Xero product and IT teams, and only see a future where this product will go downhill. I too am looking at alternatives.
