Too cluttered and busy
Too busy!
Even when I have reduced the widgets, this new homescreen gives me a headache! It is OVERLY busy. You can't even narrow it down - the page is so wide, it is very very hard to read.
I am really SICK of these new updates that add absolutely nothing. When you check the feedback for most new things, people say they want the old, yet you won't switch it back
Please let us choose and keep the old one.

Homepage - Ability to hide decimals
Add the ability to hide decimals, as we can in reporting preferences.

This would give small businesses the snapshot of monies they owe in place easily.

Homepage | Invoices owed to you - list of outstanding
I would rather have a list of outstanding invoices (names and amounts) on the dashboard instead of a graph with the totals owed. (same layout as the recently paid invoices list which i have removed completely as its not necessary)

Atm we don't have any plans for surfacing your outstanding invoices as a list within the widget, however we appreciate feedback we've received around the graph and our team are working on some sizing updates that would enable you to remove the graph on both the Invoices owed to you and Bills to pay widgets. Homepage - Month to date, year to date sales widget
Cash in and out is very helpful, however, any organisation that offers lead time and credit terms is often more focused on sales rather than income. There is no month to date, year to date sales widigit.
I get that the home page can't be all things to all people, but in part you are trying to make it a KPI dashboard without fully facilitating the needs of many.

Home page Improvements
I wanted to share some thoughts on the latest Xero homepage redesign after seeing a comment that really resonated with me about how much space the widgets are now taking up and how much more cluttered it is now. From a web design point of view, it’s just not intuitive, it’s cluttered and feels way too full, especially compared to the previous version where the widgets sat nicely in the centre and only took up maybe 50% of the page.
I genuinely believe the homepage experience could be dramatically improved with just a few changes:

Expenses to review/pay not showing in task list
When I add the "expenses to review" widget to the homepage, this shows the expenses that are needing approval, and how much is to be paid.
At the moment I have all my expenses reviewed, and some that now need payment. Why is this information also not replicated in the "Tasks" widget?
What is the point of a "Tasks" widget if it doesn't summarise all the needed actions highlighted across all the selected/displayed widgets? At the moment the listed tasks appear to only summarise a few widgets (and even then regardless of whether those widgets are selected to be shown…

Task list - Bank Feed status warnings
Task List - Add "Refresh/Renew Bank Feed" warnings to the task list (limited to banks shown on the dashboard to prevent unnecessary warnings on old accounts). The task list is incredibly useful and for my own Homepage, I have moved the bank accounts to below the rest of the tables to try to maximise the usefulness of the homepage. This makes the warnings less visible.

Homepage - reinstate the Loading bank transactions narrative when Refresh Bank Feed is clicked. Before you could see exactly what was going on. Now you have to go into Reconcile to see if the feed is loading.

Now I see the over-large new version that tells me "No expenses to review or pay", which is nonsense: there ARE expenses to pay and review and I have to click through to the classic page to get the information. Such a backwards step I'm left wondering who on earth thought this was a positive step

Homepage | COA watchlist - view all selected accounts
Please put back the full Watchlist view. The idea of a watchlist is to be able to see at a glance what accounts we need to keep a watch on. It's not 'at a glance' if the list isn't in full view and we have to scroll down.
Also, please remove the advertising and banners that clutter the homepage.3 votesAppreciate the feedback, Carol. Can see how if you've selected a large list of accounts to keep on your watchlist how scrolling the widget could be frustrating.
I want to be honest that we don't have any plans for extending out this widget further atm, however we'll start to get a sense of the interest from your idea here and I'll share if there are any updates.

View Account Transactions
Each account on the home page now has an added line "View Account Transactions".
This takes up more room - and therefore we see less accounts at a glance.

Provide a widget where you can drop any bill, expense or invoice, right on the homepage for Xero to analyse.

Homepage | Bills Awaiting payment - Filter out expense claims
Filter out expense claims from Bills Awaiting Payment
I input my own money occasionally into the business & don't require paying back, so the expense claim is left "open" & shows up on Bills awaiting payment - thus confusing the amount owing to Bills I have outstanding.

Homepage - Ability to customise and add logo in top left of page
Can we change the logo you have provided in the upper left hand corner and use our own?
2 votesHi Mike, thanks for sharing how adding your own branding to the dashboard would make Xero feel more like an extension of your business. It’s easy to understand why having a personalised interface could make client meetings or daily work feel more cohesive.
Currently, the logo uploaded in Organisation Details appears on outgoing documents, but if you also upload a logo via Invoice Settings, Xero will use that logo instead. While it doesn’t yet show on the internal dashboard, I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how much a personal touch here would improve your experience.

Homepage - Add a "Refresh Bank Feed" button directly to bank account widget
put a "Refresh bank feed button" on each bank account tile on homepage. v. useful for a quick step.
3 votesHi Steven, we can see how having a “Refresh” button right on the dashboard bank widget would make checking your accounts faster and more straightforward.
Currently, you need to open the full Bank Accounts menu or wait for the daily automatic update. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so the product team can understand how this small change could save time and keep your workflow smoother.
